Before i begin i'll just call it the Lizard insurance company but you know the one i'm talking about.

So i received a letter from that Lizard Saying they just ran a consumer credit report on me and my household and seen that my 20 year old son is living here and Licensed to drive. The letter then goes on to Demand i turn over my sons personal information like his current Insurance company and policy number or they will add him to my policy and jack my rates up.

Basically Extorting more money out of me.  So i call and ripped the supervisor a new ass over the phone regarding this. I told them that I Will NOT give them any info from my sons ins. or any of his personal information I then went on to tell them it was an invasion of His privacy not mine. I told them my son had his own car and his own policy and his info was no business of the Lizards the man said there was no choice. This is the second time that lousy insurance company pulled this shit with me.
During the phone call the supervisor then Invaded my sons privacy again by running his name and getting his insurance information so they could verify. He came back on the phone and happily announced they wouldn't need to EXTORT..Err i mean add my son to my policy.

Fucking companies are insane. I will be switching insurance companies Fuck That lizard!

Same happened to my family.  They dropped my parents just because I'm living with them and I 'might' drive their car.

Now Geico telling my parents I need car insurance even though I bought a motorcycle and have motorcycle insurance for it.
They try to find anything to Squeeze a buck out of you. Well they didn't get my sons info and i don't need to add him. Such an invasion of my Privacy to know they are scanning records to see who lives with me.

I agree, that is an invasion of privacy. I don't know what Congress is doing, but if they allow this sort of practice, they're on some bullshit.

It's Allsnake, I mean allstate isn't it?

I'm sure they have a huge revenue of money from people who are responsible and who make sound decision that never have to file a claim.

All insurance companies are scams - you will have no better luck anywhere else.

Last spring, downtown Calgary, AB flooded.  Billions of dollars in damage.

The insurances companies lost money on that.  Their solution was to raise insurance rates overall.

I'm now paying about 18% more even though I've never made a claim.    Undecided
I'm curious how else you expect insurance companies to cover the cost of disasters, if not by through their rates?

I understand.   Undecided   It's just unfair that I have to subsidize those who want to live by rivers, by choice.

"In Canada, we have our PLPD insurance (Public Liability, Public Damage) insurance that you MUST get"
We have the same thing here in the states...you need a minimum of Liability insurance or you can go with Full coverage which costs a fortune.
If you don't have insurance and get caught driving you go to jail here Sad

I think that is way it SHOULD be - it's not fair if you hit someone else and you are not insured.

In Canada you only get a $1,800 fine and your vehicle impounded until your get insurance - no jail time.  Sad

You're probably right i'm sure they all follow the same scumbag rulebook. Just can't believe thjey can legally do that.

We have an alternative - don't get insurance.   Undecided
The communist government of America won't allow me to do that Sad

In Canada, we have our PLPD insurance (Public Liability, Public Damage) insurance that you MUST get - covers you for damage you do while driving.  It's about $400 a year for someone in their 40's.

You have the option to get insurance on your car to cover any other damage (you get into an at-fault accident, get vandalized, etc).  That is optional, but costs around $1,000 per year  per $10,000 of your vehicle.    That is where they rip you off, since that is where you can make the big claims.
