This is inexcusable. He could have had a bomb strapped on. The Secret service says that they didn't shoot because he looked unarmed. Thats bullshit. They were caught with their pants down. Whats ironic is that if he would have been 5 minutes earlier, he could have been face to face with the president.. The secret service used to be the top of the ladder of all agencies, now they are the mutts...
They didn't even need to shoot him. All they needed to do is release the attack dogs on him to stop him. This was actually standard procedure but for some reason did not do this.

Supposedly they knew he was coming but noticed he had a limp and were afraid of shooting a limping man and that it could be a PR disaster.

Well it's a PR disaster none the less.  America the Great and yet disabled veterans are left to fend for themselves due to some bureaucratic decision made by someone that you can live off $150 disability payment.

They knew he was coming alright because the White House itself paid this man to run across their lawn.

It's a way to push the liberal Agenda.

any place that has the most sophisticated security system must have the weaknesses in the system, this is usually known by the hacker, chances are that person, have the security info on the place, there is no place that does not have the drawbacks ...  Tongue

He was a veteran who served in the military for 18 years and was medically discharged for injuries and walked with a limp due to an amputated foot.

He was living homeless in the woods with his dog for over two years.

This begs the question if military disability pay is too low or if they're cutting people off.  It also begs the question if it would be cheaper to switch from a professional military to a private military.   Each soldier in Iraq back then cost $400K.  Sometimes it's said each soldier in Afghanistan cost $2.1 million (despite these guys only taking home low salaries).

It would be cheaper to switch over to a mercenary military and pay people $150K+ for oversea services but don't give them a pension or disability pay if they get injured, and they have to provide their own gear. Many people would be lining up in droves to join the military if it paid six figures.

Not that the gear in the military is any good.  Illegally, soldiers have been substituting their gear with private purchases due to subpar equipment.

The guy jumps the fence and runs into the White house!
http://news.yahoo.com/why-the-secret-service-didn-t-shoot-the-fence-jumper-160933257.html

One of highest security areas on the planet and a guy gets right in. So how the hell did he get in?

The answer to your question is in your post.  Smiley

I saw the film Olympus Has Fallen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympus_Has_Fallen. They are able to capture the white house within 30 minutes. I wonder what would happen if it is real scenario.
