@Don Pedro Dinero please can you look into it.

Yes, I'll put it in my thread, but delete your former comment as you have posted twice and I'm quoting this one.

By the way, I suppose you know how to edit a post, do you? I am thinking about why you have posted twice the same, just adding this last sentence.

These type of posts make me think how strict other countries are with regards to bitcoin and cryptocurrency taxation. I just imagine someone being scared not to be sued because of a mere statement in a random online forum.

In my country, we are not crypto taxed and besides I can make a statement like tax evasion and get away with it. This really shows the level of freedom we are enjoying in my country.

OP, good you have decided to stay. You can remain here anonymously, do not connect your real life identity to your forum identify and you are good to go.
Another example how someone just get an overview and creates a reply without reading the issues and not following the thread.
Stop using your account and you forget your account username, password, email, then you will seem like account delete. It is not possible to delete account in this bitcoin forum because there is no such option to delete account. Since your account has been credited as a member, but not active, you should forget/anonymize your account password.

Then the above member comes accusing before reading the problem and accused the OP for the wrong doing. This is too much to determine how much a justified post can get into the category of spam post if not read.

This is a genuine problem and I think it is more frequent in countries that have a regime in control. I feel sad for this guy and his ability to operate.

Hello,

Thank you for your kind words and excuse my radical attitude.

The reason why is that I asked how could I pay with my Bitcoin and which taxation would be applied.
I got a response from an user as if I was trying not to pay taxes and elude my tax responsibilities.

I’m worried someone can legally attack me and sue me because of financial misdemeanor.

Based on your responses I will decide to stay in the forum and continue collaborating with others and learning new things.

Thanks

OP what are you looking for again with this thread?

What the OP was looking for in this thread is already taken care of, as I explained, but since what you are looking for is not to debate, which implies finding out what has been said before, but to quickly leave your response, you haven't found out.

It is good that you are compelled by the advise of the forum members and decide to stay back. What you need to know is that you have to be careful with your activities in the forum. Be on guard, secure your account, don’t expose too much about yourself or personal activities in the forum. Security and privacy are the two key factors you need not mess up with in the forum.

OP what are you looking for again with this thread? The great people who contribute to bitcointalk are so supportive of what you are experiencing and give a shadow of a way out, if it is clear enough you can explore further, continue in this thread or on other boards like when you first made the thread before this, according to what you like for example discussing taxes, economics and other boards including bitcoin. you may be more knowledgeable than me, let's enliven to contribute to the bitcointalk forum, all welcome your arrival and toast.

That's a wise choice to stick around and I'm certain that you would learn and gain a lot about Bitcoin, and also privacy, safety and security online.

For the tax concern, it's your choice, but I strongly advise that you should abide by the rules and the laws of your land or the country of residence. You may use fiat or Bitcoin where applicable. If tax must be involved and Bitcoin may be an issue, you might use fiat, it's your choice. You can use Bitcoin elsewhere.

Hello

I want to delete my account and all the messages and threads I created.

Thanks

Simply click the “report to moderator” button to all the thread that you created since they are the only one who can delete the thread. Just state the reason on the description and admin will surely take care of it.

Account can’t be deleted here. But you can follow suggestion above to completely forget about your account.
I'm just thinking if being unable to close one's account in this forum is something the admin might want to consider adding? I know few platforms where one can close his account.

I saw an analysis by one of the top users here, I have forgotten the name, where a statistics of account registered on the forum and those still active were presented. The ratio of registered account against active accounts is so huge. It might mean that some of those inactive accounts would have been deleted should there be a provision for that.

You can delete you post immediately after you post it, but on some board like service board which I noticed, you will have to wait for 24 hours before you can delete your post there. But if it is a topic, you can not delete it.
If the thread you created has posts from other users, then you can't delete that thread. Only the moderators can. If you had that privilege, it would basically mean that you are deleting other user's posts together with yours. But if no one else posted in your thread (only you did), you can delete it. I don't know if this isn't possible in certain boards like Services.

Well, it's my turn to respond because I am the user, and what I have to say is that he hasn't understood anything.

I have explained tax avoidance, which is legal, but I think it is better if I quote what I said, translating it.

I am trying to find smart ways to use my funds.
<...>
I hope my educational interest in learning more about the fiscal and practical usability aspect in the real world of cryptocurrencies is noted.

My reply:

Well, first of all it will depend, as it is not the same if you have 2,000 euros as 200,000 euros. In the second case I would consult Crypto Spain or someone similar.
<...>
As a summary, and as I have just commented in another thread, it seems that what you are looking for is tax avoidance, which consists of minimising the payment of taxes within the law. None of the 5 points minimise it, so, as I said at the beginning, depending on the money you have, consider consulting an expert in tax avoidance, as no one on the local forum is one.

What he needs to do, as DdmrDdmr has recommended, is not to take things so personally, and I would add that even less so when he has not understood them.

PS: OP has finally understood and apologized, so I'm reporting the thread to be locked.

I can see why you want the thread locked. as others are just adding gratuitous posts to pad their signature campaign> your reply was pretty definitive. At the op no one is out to get you, but many governments have many laws about taxes.

Depending on your profits you will get more attention. So getting a good tax expert will help you. I posted in a thread in another section detailing  how much I need to report to be legal in the USA.

I will add the link

I’ve been reading the forum for a long time, but I’ve never heard of an account being deleted here at the request of a user.

I think if there are still such stupid questions from users, then as an alternative a ban can be issuing.

I think this is the closest in meaning to the requests of such users

@gsus.dev can you please lock the thread ? You have it at the bottom left, 'lock topic'.

I reported it to be locked but my report is unhandled and it seems that the moderators don't care that a thread that the purpose for which it was opened is already solved is filled with comments that don't read the previous comments or repeat, even partially, what was said.

The OP said he wanted to delete his account, it was explained to him that it is not possible, he was given other options, and in the end he acknowledged that it all arose out of confusion. He apologised and now we have him active on the Spanish board.

What is the point of keeping this thread open?

There is nothing meaningful to contribute as it has already been resolved.

Op your question is already been answered and  in reality you can't delete your account by yourself but the administrator can  and it took time for administrator to delete your account. Anyways what ever your reason is why you need to delete your account then it's all for you.  But you can do other things in order to leave the forum just chance the password and then forget it and do not open your account  again. Or else you just delete the History of your Google so that you can't access it.

Thanks brother that you mentioned here that why you want to leave this forum. as your main purpose of this thread that how can you delete your account which already answered by seniors(You cannot delete and just stop using it)

You shouldn't care of such comments as Bitcointalk is decentralized forum and everyone is here free to reply according to his thinking. You will see both positive and negative reply. You shouldn't take every reply seriously otherwise you cannot grow. I hope senior member will help you here alot. whenever you need any help just post in beginners section and ignore all these negative comments. no one can trace you here as long as you doesn't public your personal information.

On many forums, if you ask the admin, he can delete your account completely as if it never existed

But on this forum that there is no such opportunity for nobody. The admin will not delete your account even if you ask him to. Although technically he can do this. The forum engine allows this.

If it's a difficult even to change your nickname here, then what kind of account deletion can we even talk about?

The most you can do is push a report button of your messages

Your case with the answer fits right into the topic of people who don’t read posts and don’t read what other people write, but only respond to the first post that the OP creates. If you had paid attention and read a little more, you would have realized that the OP has decided on the issue that concerns him.

Well sorry to say It was my bad I didn't refresh the page before posting, during reply non has made any post but I leave my page attending to something more better after finishing my write up, immediately I get back back to my pc I submitted post without refreshing.. although it said about 4 replies, after which I submitted.
I didn't even go back to read again then..
Apology if my response weren't in sequence to what op said or to what others said, the next option would have been editing but no need doing.

Why did you want to delete post including your accounts?
To me deleting your account by yourself is a bit difficult because you don't have access to do tha, what you should do is to have those post you don't want deleted or alternatively you leave them to serve as a reference purposes to how you started here. What most don't know is how to keep records on how they started forum from little and became larger.

OP, go to settings, reset your account password, but before you type the new password, kindly close your eye and type in different letters from your keyboard. Open your eyes after then and don't cross-check the letters, then submit it and walk away. That's a way of forgetting about your account if you don't actually want to gain access to it.

If you had paid attention and read a little more, you would have realized that the OP has decided on the issue that concerns him.

But the OP’s very behavior just shows how people are afraid to take the wrong step and mistake Bitcoin for some kind of offense. OP, there are a lot of people registered here; do you think that anyone cares about you? Or may your nickname coincide with that of a person who is quite famous on the Internet?

You can delete your posts manually; Bitcointalk doesn't have a "delete user" feature.
Or did you mean he can edit his post? Because no user can also delete post. But a post can be edited to del and also be reported to moderators for a moderator to delete it. But the post can not be deleted/removed by the user. Or probably it is a typo and you meant can't delete.

I think you can delete your personal posts on threads after 24 hours but cannot delete a thread you create yourself and that’s what I thought he meant.
My post is not exactly accurate and I have deleted it. But this is what I meant:

I am not referring to other posts but topics. You can delete you post immediately after you post it, but on some board like service board which I noticed, you will have to wait for 24 hours before you can delete your post there. But if it is a topic, you can not delete it.

It all depends on the subforum where the post was made. In some boards, you need to wait 24 hours before you can delete a post. So, you are right about that. But in others, you can immediately delete it after submission, and there is no need to wait.

OP, go to settings, reset your account password, but before you type the new password, kindly close your eye and type in different letters from your keyboard. This request isn't about OP losing access to their account and not having a way to log back in to use it. They wanted to have their posts and history cleared due to, what they believe, is sensitive content and information they posted about taxes.

If it is about privacy which shouldn’t be a thing too much to worry for you since you didn’t share some personal details about yourself, I would say apart from using TOR browser you can as well create another account as that is permissible when it has to do with privacy issues

Even if your account was deleted, users on Bitcointalk have post scrappers and everything you posted (just like anyone else) has been scrapped and there is a copy of it. Besides wiping everything you said from the forum, you would also have to ask the creators and owners of those scrappers to delete everything from their records. Glad you decided to stay.
Dude ain't got thick skin... D Pedro spoke to him about his request and he's vexed that he wants his account deleted immediately... I think I sensed great "FEAR" in his actions? If not pride...

I don't think anyone should divert thier interest in whatever reasons why they got registered in here... If that's happening, then it'll be obvious they didn't come with proper motives..

According to the privacy notice, the retention is a bit longer unless one has activated "limited retention" in his profile. For ease of view though, I’ll quote the relevant part of the notice:
Quote
IP-address retention

IP address retention works in this way:
Thing       Normal retention   Limited retention        Retention for guests

Full IP                 6 months        3 months                    A few weeks
Partial IP             2 years           N/A                            N/A
City geolocation   6 years           3 months                    N/A

You can opt into limited retention in your account settings. This will apply only to logs created after you change the setting, and doing so will make it much more difficult for you to recover your account if it is ever lost.
Between 6 and 24 months, the IP linearly loses least-significant bits over time. For example, the IP 123.234.210.221 would lose 8 bits and become the prefix 123.234.210.0/24 approximately 10.5 months after it was logged. For IPv6, the least-significant 66 bits are dropped after 6 months, and then the remaining bits are dropped linearly over the 1.5-year period.

The city geolocation locates you to the nearest large city according to your IP address.

Exception: if you click on a "ping link" as part of a manual account recovery process, the IP log created by this action has possibly-indefinite retention.
Of course there are likely to be backups and such that make snapshot data persist as a backup.

Good thinking. If you are worried about your privacy then always use TOR. You are protected. The forum does not keep log of your IP addresses [though they keep it for one or three months which is a short time].

Based on your responses I will decide to stay in the forum and continue collaborating with others and learning new things.

Thanks
you got scared.

its okay to get scared.

every country has its own laws.

follow them and there is no worries.

of course if you dont follow your laws about tax you could get into trouble.

As per my knowledge and understanding only the admin can delete you account. It is obvious if your account is deleted your post and activities will get deleted. What I would like to know is why you want to do it? You have merits which can get you a member rank if you work or be active here.

What makes your profile interesting is your merit to post average. You have only 10 post with 6 merits, is this something for you asking to delete your profile? Creating such kind of topic will always result with questions.

Hello,

Thank you for your kind words and excuse my radical attitude.

The reason why is that I asked how could I pay with my Bitcoin and which taxation would be applied.

It is nice to see that you have decided to stay back and not leaving because of the responds that you got from a user. Un his community, you should try and have a thick skin because there are different people from different background here and you should expect criticism from form members. You don't need to allow that to discourage you from learning and growing, because criticism will help you improve more when you are less concern and move on.

Hello

I want to delete my account and all the messages and threads I created.

Thanks

You can't delete your account. But you can request it to theymos by sending him a pm with reason of you account deletion. If he accepts he might replace your post with anonymous users.

For the individual posts you can delete it by yourself that is easy and for the topics of of course you can't delete but you can edit. Edit each topic replace text with some garbage text or "x" something this and later moderators will delete the topic as well.

if you want to use a script then use this created by someone:

Since you cant delete your account here, and deleting posts manually one by one is a pain, i made a python script to automatically delete all posts that can be deleted, and to edit those which can only be edited (changes subject and message to "x")

Edit:

Based on your responses I will decide to stay in the forum and continue collaborating with others and learning new things.

wow glad to hear that you're considering staying on the forum and engaging with the community. Stay anonymous and stay vigilant never trust unknown emails or messages too.

You can delete your posts manually; Bitcointalk doesn't have a "delete user" feature.

You have only been using the bitcointalk forum for one day, but your understanding and experience is quite a lot wallau comes from your own self-taught, if you feel you have missed in the post, you can correct the source, your way of writing is neat in responding or thinking with the topic being discussed, it is difficult for a newbie to get a merit especially with a useful post, your post breaks the tradition for newbie, Grin if you can survive in my opinion your account will be quickly established, with your insight.

If your determination is already bu;lat to leave the forum, the way for private messages and topics that you write, you can delete one by one while for replies to other people's threads, you can click Report to moderator at the bottom right of your post and change the password randomly without remembering it, in my opinion it is not the active status of the account but no one will glance if your account has no posts. Hopefully your decision can be reconsidered, and maybe it's the best in your opinion. Smiley

Hello

I want to delete my account and all the messages and threads I created.

Thanks
Could you please tell us the reason why you want to delete the account? It's possible that this can still be resolved better than you believed. I became curious since the account was just opened yesterday, it's not even up to 24 hours ago. And in a little time, you hit 4 merits which were sent from a respected member LoyceV.

This shows that you are making sense in your posting. It would be nice if you spit the reason out or better still take a break to rethink this. You might thank me later.

Hello

I want to delete my account and all the messages and threads I created.

Thanks
Here, let me quote it to you. Because even admins won't delete your account.
It's not possible. The easiest way is to delete all your 3 posts, forget this account and move on.
But besides of 3 posts, it's 7 for you.

You can not delete your account, that is not possible on this forum, especially when you are not a reputed member that theymos can turn to anonymous which is the only thing that can be done.

But you can just forget about the account, forget the email used and the password and you will be good like your account as been deleted.

Hello

I want to delete my account and all the messages and threads I created.

Simply click the “report to moderator” button to all the thread that you created since they are the only one who can delete the thread. Just state the reason on the description and admin will surely take care of it.

Account can’t be deleted here. But you can follow suggestion above to completely forget about your account.

You can delete your account, I think only the admin has that power. But you can simply just reset the password and put in some characters you can remember and then that’s it. Before then you can just delete your quotes but as for the threads you can’t delete them yourself except the moderators do that for you.

I don’t know the reason why you want to delete your account but once you reset the password to what you can remember no body will even know this account exists in the forum if all your posts or threads die down
