Yea, i've been watching this thread but seems the MoonAsics guy hasn't bothered responding to anything anymore...

That and given the OUTSTANDING efficiency of this from a brand new company - I'd have to conclude scam as well. Plus they only take BTC, so no refunds.

the thing i don't understand is they promise this massive efficiency and cant back it up with any drawings.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a scam in this case.

Kind of one of those too good to be true things. Also, based on the fact they deleted this thread and created an entirely new one just puts a bit more coal on the proverbial fire. IMHO

Stuff like this always gets under my skin as it only damages the public image of BTC and Cryptocurrencies. I'm currently waiting on two pre-orders, but I only did them because they took CC's which can be disputed and charged back - and it's certainly not with Moonasics. Any pre-order only accepting BTC or wire transfers is a HUGE risk. Especially with a new and no-named company.

We would be glad to get reviews from someone with engineering skills. Please PM us with your previous work you've done, we will discuss the conditions
So, I am an engineer in telecommunications. I was working in Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd with GSM BSS equipment deploying and troubleshooting BSS in West Siberian region for 4+ years, then I was a chief of department, then I have downshifted to service engineer's position and worked with industrial printers and applicators, then... then... Now I am almost Tele2's employee and back at engineer's position working with Ericsson RNC managing UMTS network in Novosibirsk. Former Linux amateur explorer...  Roll Eyes

I have just sent an e-mail to you. Maybe I'll get lucky in this...

Hey what a coincidence.  EHS is from Paris France too!  What are the odds that 2 ASIC companies spring up as the same time touting amazing performance stats for Scrypt ASIC miners.  It must be some kind of French IT Hub over there...

Yea, i've been watching this thread but seems the MoonAsics guy hasn't bothered responding to anything anymore...

That and given the OUTSTANDING efficiency of this from a brand new company - I'd have to conclude scam as well. Plus they only take BTC, so no refunds.

Mods please close this thread

why? - the mods have not closed any threads where there's bashing of companies going on that have actually delivered miners - so why close this - it's best to keep the scams in public sight so no one gets duped.

They could just add [SCAM] to the thread subject line and close it. Makes more sense to do that - if they open a new thread they will get the same flak and anyone searching for 'moonasic' threads should find this thread no prob (as another warning).

Slightly off topic - But I avoid preorders at all costs as well... But GAWMiner seems to have a promising new scyprt miner coming out called the vaultbreaker.

I used a CC so can get my money back if needed.. Would never do preorder unless I knew I could dispute or charge back.

I have no stake in GAWMiner btw, just a friendly "for your information" plug. Hopefully steer people away from this sham.

I would concur since at least gawminers has a history or delivering on time but then again you're kind of stuck because by the time they're delivered there will be machine priced cheaper with more hashing power - it's simply inevitable.

*Bubbleburst* Well my decision was based on the fact GAW CEO threw down the gauntlet and promised his miner would ship out before and be better than the KNC miner. So, I'm really just trying to get ahead of the curve and be an early adopter....

Not sure if it will work, but it was the early adopter of BTC that made the bigger profits. Hoping for the same with the Scrypt ASICs.

I'm sure he will beat KNC, but I pre-ordered two 250MH Mining Asics Units and spoke with the CEO today. I expect them mid august. It sucks to spend then wait...and watch as coins drop in value and difficulty rises. The only good thing in this whole mess of an industry is that there are so many new coins where there's an opportunity to make some money. The day ig sitting back and mining the same coins for weeks on end are over!

best of luck - I have a hosted A2 there (at gaw) and it's been a great box.

Yeah this sounds to good to be true. Even if they ship September these would ROI (if bought for $) in under a month probably 2-3 weeks even. The one thing they did tho was update their website to reflect the current Watts, which they didn't do in here.

So moonasic posts here 2 days ago just over 12 posts young and hasn't answered any real questions about NRE, foundry, fpga demos, but argues about the cost of google adwords and the few hundred it costs to run a woocommernce/wordpress website.

Pretty much. I have no problem giving them trust. They just have to show me SOMETHING. All the questions are just simply left unanswered and answered with useless facts such as how much they are spending on advertising. Yeah, good scams are the ones that are invested into heavily.

Yeap, just wait for the review guys and stop trying to attack what you dont believe. I am the representative of MoonAsics in the spanish section of the forum and they said the same about the specs, just think it, if MoonAsics would triying to scam, the pre-orders price would have been at least 50% and the equipment specs would be a copy paste of market average, so please dont make accusations without proof.

Well maybe you should wait a little before announcing to the whole world. Get some solid numbers and videos. Of course no one will believe you. A new company out of the blue with AMAZING specs. It's hard to believe man.

If the specs of your rights are even halfway true you guys will make a lot of money and will get a lot of orders in very little time. This alone can let an unprepared company implode. So if any of the sample units will turn out to be real be prepared to get hammered with orders.

Ok, so let's make everything clear.
For people yelling to scam, just be real and think for a minute.
Do you know how much this cost ? Developing a website, paying for the servers, Google Adwords, marketing campaign and so on ?
Yeah, I do know actually lol.

You didn't "develop" a website, you copyrino pasterino it and it cost you 55$ for the template, unless you pirated it, than its free:
http://themeforest.net/item/forte-multipurpose-wp-theme-woocommerce-ready/3888979?clickthrough_id=244921933&redirect_back=true&ref=pixedelic

Paying for the server, you make it sound so so important, but it's just hosting Tongue Anyway, 65.4$ for a year (that's how long the website is registered for)
https://www.gandi.net/hosting/simple?language=php&db=mysql
http://www.whois.com/whois/moonasics.com

Domain is another 10$ a year~

AdWords?
You can put 10$ there... Not to mention Google is giving for FREE coupons worth a few hundred bucks for AdWords usage.

Marketing campaign? moonasics yields nothing on Google.com except for the website and the thread here you made, so you haven't spent a dime on it.

So all in all 130$~ for everything here.

1 Pre-order will already cover your scam.

Our server doesn't cost 65.4 but ~200$ a year. You are right for the rest, except google adwords, I don't know where the idea comes that you can put 10$ in there, but with this price you get almost nothing, our adwords campaign cost a thousand per month. But that's not the most important. We are currently investing thousands dollars for a complete advertising campaign done by professionnals.
Don't worry, you'll get proofs soon  Wink

For as much as you have spent on advertising this is the first time I've ever heard of you. I've goggles for your company and I don't even see you popping up in even second page ads on Google search. What are you keywording? I've used asic scrypt hashrate litecoin dogecoin ltc doge. I don't see you on any combination of them.

And since you are shopping in a couple of weeks. Which shop did your chip design/nre. Who was your foundry?  Since you are in assembly you should be able to provide that information as there is no competitive advantage to keeping it undisclosed.  By telling us you provide better transparency and if I can confirm with the designed you are a client I would be interested in 10 to 12 960mhs units to start.

Thank you for the confirmation of the review board.

I look forward to reviewing the board when it's available. Please keep me informed as to when it will be shipped.

I will continue to watch this thread and your company  Smiley

in theory they say that the test asics will be available before first batch. So in theory first batch will be delivered between the half of august and the end of the august.
I spoke with them on the website chat and they say that they already have 120 preorders. the capacity is 10 boards per day.

I would love to order one moon asic. but the fud and the lack of the info on the website is holding me on ordering.

Same here. That's why I offered to review a board for them. I'm a professional engineer and I'm excited to review it.

I believe they will get it to me but only time will tell. I'm hesitant about pre-ordering anything.

Sending out units for review so people can see them up and running before ordering should quell peoples doubts.

The moonasic dude is puffing his chest about a few thousand in website building costs.  But the utter fail is that the nre to get chips with that performance at that price would cost an easy $1.2  million in NRE to get to masking.

This is a major scam

Even at this price it's still unbelievable. Especially since you state the 204 MH/s unit uses only 38w of power.

You stated that you will be shipping out units for trusted users on this forum to test.

Well I have a Digital SLR camera and can review your product fully with HD Images and video.

I've been building PCs since I was 8 yrs old. I build my own servers and GPU mining Rigs. I'm a professional Software Engineer and work with FPGA/ASIC engineers, for medical equipment.

So I would be happy to test one of your units and show everyone here what you have is real. Just send me a PM so we can get the shipping details sorted out.

If you're ready to start shipping in August then there should be no issue with sending out a unit for review.

We would be glad to get reviews from someone with engineering skills. Please PM us with your previous work you've done, we will discuss the conditions

PM sent.

Please get back to me with the details ASAP.

Thank you.

You have to excuse just about anyone who wants proof / details substantiating these performance numbers...

That's not even the the detail you should gap at. They are selling 240MH/s for 300 bucks~. That shit will ROI in a day or so

I think there was a misunderstanding there. We do not sell 240MH/s unit for 300$, they sell for 2150$. 300$ was the 15% deposit for pre-ordering.
I now understand why some of you thought it was unbelievable  Cheesy
We canceled this pre-order thing at 15% as it was too much confusing for many people.

Ok, so let's make everything clear.
For people yelling to scam, just be real and think for a minute.
Do you know how much this cost ? Developping a website, paying for the servers, Google Adwords, marketing campaign and so on ? There are thousands dollars and weeks of work who have been spent just for marketing this project.
Do you seriously think we are doing this just to scam a few hundred dollars (without any guarantee to succeed) ? That wouldn't make any sense. Get your facts straight.
Our website is hosted on a serious company, you can check by yourself with a whoIs, everything as been paid by Credit Card. Same for google AdWords, if you know how it works you should also know that it's been reviewed and validated by Google as a business. So every service we use knows our Full Name, address and everything related to us. Who would take such a risk for a scam ?

As every business ever done, we know that we need to make our reputation and all of your questions are legitimate. Respect may have to be earned (and I'm not your "boy" by the way  Wink), but yelling to scam or insulting us without knowing any piece of work that has been done behind the scene won't make it any better. We really do want to satisfy everyone's question but you have to understand that there are some informations we don't want to make public.
So to answer the few questions we might have seen between hate sentences, we do have a testing unit but it's not reflecting our final product and it was designed only for our own testing purpose.
We don't want to release any electronic scheme of our product, the reason is really obvious why would we sell our units if we tell the world how to build them by themselves ?
And finally, how would this be less questionnable ? Even if we released them we would always have someone to say it's a fake.

We are already planning to send few units to trusted members, bloggers and websites before the first batch to let them make reviews about our products. If you have any doubts, then you can simply wait for the first reviews. There's no point in flamming us, you'll just feel bad when you'll see our first reviews.

We will try to find a way to give you more proof without risk for our intellectual property as soon as possible. We waited almost a year to have these products ready, if you can't stand to wait a few days to have proofs or reviews, we can't do anything for you.

Regards

I'm going to keep my eyes on this topic. These hashrates seem really unbelievable for the prices you're willing to sell. But everyone doubted KnC. Maybe you guys will pull through. I know I will not be preordering until I see some numbers or images or team work experience.

Your language doesn't deserve an answer.
If you want to ask something, please do it in a good manner and show some respect.
Of course you won't give an answer, cause you haven't got one and you'll use whatever excuses needed to snake yourself out of it.

And respect is earned, not asked or demanded and you haven't earned any, boy.

So how about you skip along to a different forum and try and scam the people there.

Interesting looking product. Any information on the team members? Prototype? FPGA proof of chip design video? Foundry information etc

How convenient.

The first batch of our final products isn't ready yet
What batch!?!?!? Show a fucking proto-type.
You gonna tell me you got no proto-type but you're ready to ship within a month?!
Bitch, plz.

By the way, our pre-orders are refundable so if one of our customer changes it mind before his product gets ready, he can ask for a full refund without any condition
LOL.

Of course it's refundable, that's why you take payment in BTC ONLY.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Gotta be dumb as a door knob to fall for this one.

Actually all of his points are solid.

If you can't handle "language" you shouldn't be trying to sell to people on this site lol.

Not answering his questions only makes your product more questionable, regardless of your stance on offensive language.

The first batch of our final products isn't ready yet, therefore we couldn't offer any other picture. However, the photos on our website are perfectly reflecting the final product.
We understand that it might be seen as a "risk" to pre-order. We don't force anyone to do it, we just offer the possibility to do it. If people prefer to wait for feedbacks after the first batch and order for the second or third batch, then they are free to do whatever they think is good for them  Wink

Interestingness looking product. Any information on the team members?

Thank you ! As said in the main post, our team is mostly composed of engineers (students but also experienced workers) and investors. We are not all involved into Bitcoin, at first it was just a pure technical project.
I will let themselves introduce them in this topic if they want to, but you can contact us at [email protected] for some private informations if that is what you need.

Too good to be true. A picture of the miner would help...
