Right now Ethereum is the most profitable. If you don't like Eth, you can try Bytecoin or Monero, using a pool like Minergate, and Claymore's GPU and CPU miners.

Is it (ethereum) really profitable mining with home PC with a good configuration?

not using just CPU.
If you have some good GPU, like 280X or 750Ti, you can rise some bucks...
yes the pool and selecting the appropriate coin you can get a very big future pofit

By far ethereum, no doubt.

check here:

750ti is about half of 280x
maybe something less

Maybe Ethereum, it does about 8 MHS. But Ethereum is getting less profitable by the day as the big gpu farms are catching on now.

i think this is not the only reason....
the price still low...
if it double, it will be 100% more profittable...
but i tink the price still in this range...0.004 - 0.009

Coins are the most profitable to extract is the new coins, new coin so that the coin a little break the block that you can more. in fact for now you will be difficult to benefit from the long-circulating coins .. look for new coins. Good luck

I if I tell you, the coin will not be profitable anymore. Smiley

Quark@nicehash (sharkcoin) is pretty stable and good. (hashrate around 6MHASH on the 750ti)
Vertcoin is bether, but this might change in a couple of days.(hashrate around 4.1 MHASH on the 750ti)

Use ccminer ( sp-mod) release 60

You need to do some math... and search for the mining hardware comparison wiki
And you better take a look at coinwarz.com. There you can do an average approach of the profitability for each coin.
