How many rigs are you building?
How important is ROI to you?
How many cards per rig?
How much do you pay for power?
Are you buying all the cards right away?

For instance...someone might only be able to run 2 systems and will be limited to 6-8 GPU's per rig.
That means they are limited to the maximum hash rate they can get from 12-16 GPU's

Should they get the cheapest RX470's possible and go for quick ROI and upgrade later?
Or go all out with 1080 ti's and have a longer ROI, but then higher per day profits and better resale?

Sorry, I am building a small mining operation.

No limit on rigs, essentially
ROI is the most important factor
Assuming 6 card standard but willing to do more or less
.15 kwh
I have enough funds to build one rig at the moment, and will build more in the near future

I'd go with whatever is cheapest since the hashrate is basically identical when tweaked to optimum and so is the power consumption (although i have heard some people getting the power consumption a few % lower on the 500 series)

I don't see any scenario where a vega card can beat out a 570.

2x570 = ~60 MH / 280 watts / $340

High end Vega w/ HBM 2 = ~40-50 MH / ~250 watts / ~$500-600

Low end Vega w/ GDDR5/x = ~30-40 MH / ~200 watts / ~400-500

The only way I see the low end vega outdoing the 570 is if it under-clocks/volts really well, and you can fit two of these cards in the same power envelope as 2x570, and be able to kick out about 80 MH using < 300 watts. If they go aggressive on pricing and its under $400 per card then that would make sense.

If that occurs, I suspect there will be price drops or a little price war between the two for non-GDDR5X models
