Just curious: do you guys talk on forums using your mobile devices? Is there a demand for making mobile apps for iOS and Android? 🤔

Bitcointalk is just older but its loosing users
Hmm... After a quick look at the forum stats, I can say that this is incorrect. 63756 new members and 77877533 page views in December 2017 sounds pretty "active" for me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitcointalk.org

becasue Theymos bans and censors alot.
Can you provide some sources to corroborate with this statement?

wow! BitcoinTalk forum is still stuck at SMF 1.1.9 where 30 more versions have been released? Did theymos eat all the money? No update or work within those years?
Isn't the new forum software being developed?

Also, about the outdated SMF version:
Theymos has modded this forum considerably.  That's why it's such an old version of SMF - he can't upgrade it anymore.

👋
Hey TryNinja, thanks for your reply.
Those are not my words. Those are quotes from other BTTalk users. And by reading it (and many reviews outside the forum) I understand that BitcoinTalk needs a strong competitor to evolve quicker.

really modern , much better UX. how do you plan to make it better?

Hey cryptoriax, thanks for the reply.

There are many improvements to do in future. For example, top navigation remasteng, profile page should be reworked too. The forum looks and work good enough. I spent a few months polishing it before started inviting people, so now it's time to move on.
The main focus at the moment is to attract more users. Currently we have ~230 registered members. The goal is to reach 500 by the end of the month.

Hey all. We have an important notice: to prevent spam, CryptoHeresy will become a read-only forum for all newcomers since the 1st of June.

...limiting the inflow of discussion seems detrimental to a community.

Greetings, Revo.
You've asked the same question on CryptoHeresy. So let me just quote my thoughts from that topic:

I will not to raise the bars, I would like to build a border-crossing point. There will be multiple options to get the ability to post such as:

- Referral system.
- Content contribution.
- Meaty introduction post.
- Nice history on other forums.
- Good question from a Bitcoin newbie.
- Make a small donation.

My goal is to create a friendly community that is free of spammers and I'm sure that such 'check of interest' is a must in crypto - the most spammy industry in the history Smiley

Okay... now that's interesting. I read your announcement on CryptoHeresy and I get that you want a smaller and familiar discussion environment, but limiting the inflow of discussion seems detrimental to a community. I see where you're coming from though, and why. I'll keep updated on this.

Overall it looks good (well made) but have few concerns:

1. You mentioned the following:
I will never pay for posting or somehow motivate others to chat. It's a hard way, but I chose quality.
Meaning you're after quality discussions, but the moment you introduce signature campaigns (since you're not ruling it out completely), you'll end up with less quality/more quantity.
Q: Whether CryptoHeresy has any signature campaign?

A: Not yet. Follow the Telegram Channel to get notified.

2. From the FAQ's page:
Quote
I registered in the past but cannot login any more?!
It is possible an administrator has deactivated or deleted your account for some reason. Also, many boards periodically remove users who have not posted for a long time to reduce the size of the database. If this has happened, try registering again and being more involved in discussions.
This doesn't seem right. Legit users (quality users) might/will end up with periods of long inactivity (due to obvious reasons, ex. life...) therefore wiping them from the database is wrong.

- What if they've made tons of quality contributions/posts?
- What if they want to get back to someone that they were privately in contact, through your forum?

Simply deleting them (from the database) and asking them to be more involved, is a bad move.

You said you're after quality, but I'm seeing signs of quantity being the target too.

As I can see, BitGasp is way more than just a portfolio tracker. How long did it take to build an MVP? What are your competitors on the market?

You can PM me if have questions.
