My guess is equihash. An interesting twist is the question of ZEC's long term value. I used to believe in it strongly.

Bit less clear now as more coins add privacy features, ZEC gets out-marketed, alienates its loyalists by now maybe tolerating ASICs after developing equihash supposedly in part to give them problems. Perhaps most importantly, the mainstream crypto meme of "crypto = money laundering" puts privacy coins in the regulatory cross-hairs. Not saying it's right, good for us, or I agree with it, just pointing it out.

Next stop Equihash ! Neoscrypt shitcoin are safe for now. I wonder why so many shitcoins use Neoscrypt. Some coins are good though.

nothing safe. Neoscrypt is popular so it has an asic for it already.

yeah  if you do the math  a first run  of chips  with research and development is 10 million

So to get some working machines cost 10 million.  that is a drop in the bucket for bitmain is multibillion.

But they are smart  so they may want to create wealth i.e.  xmo + xmr are better then just xmr.

bch + btc are better then just btc

Maybe they  force an equihash fork in a bit.

sooner than 6 months  would be better more like 2 months.

if we get  four forks

 eth + eth fork
 zec + zec fork
 xmr + xmr fork
 btc + bch fork

it can hold together.

if bitmain goes after the forks too quickly  it will be bad.
There wont be zec fork if there is equihash asics for it Zooko already came out about this

We know Bitmain mines long before they announce a new miner coming out to the public, this means logically we can assume something else is being mined, it went like this:

1. Bitcoin (Sha 256)
2. Litecoin (Scrypt)
3. Dash (X11)
4. Monero (Cryptonight) - This was surprising I expected Ethereum for sure before this
5. Ethereum (Ethash)

What would be next?

I want to say it would be Vertcoin they seem like a major up and comer to me but they could never publicly sell this miner as it would cause a fork immediately, they (Bitmain) have now finally felt community backlash, they are starting to realize how painful this can be.

What other coin is being targeted or already mined?

Just look at difficulty rise increases over the last ~9 months. They have done a bad job in the past at hiding the exponential growth of difficulty from currencies they are mining.

A trump supporter was a joke...

Human are greedy in nature.  If it wasn't for greed.   Manufacturers wouldn't move their business to 3rd world countries.  I actually like Duterte, despite what media says about him or what he did but he's doing a lot what other presidents couldn't do before (get rid of corruptions, drugs or whatever).

really? you must be dreaming.

his govt released peter lim, espinosa, arroyo, estrada, and the rest. the only persons who are jailed is his political enemies. stupid blind supporters. you should look first at your economy, so much inflated ever since he took presidency.

you call that anti corrupt and drugs? thats more like self-serving govt.

now back to topic, since you zombies supporters have no sense.

Perhaps you should do a little "homework" before you make assumptions....

(1)I'm not filipino nor I live in PI.  I'm married to one if that counts..

(2)Again, I never said I'm a supporter of Duterte.  As a former Sgt in the USMC and someone who's into world history.  I thought he was pretty good despite of what he's doing (people praise the first emperor of china and he probably killed more people than anyone in the world history).

Now back to the real topic and not this non-sense.

Bitmain is the terrorist organisation of the crypto world. They steal from the community by seizing our right to buy a miner. Every cent you spend on Bitmain products will come back to us as more corruption, insider trading (coinbase bcash trading), brand theft attempts (like bcash & monero classic) and centralization.

Stop funding crypto terrorism. Say no to Shitmain.

Calling bitmain a terrorist organization demeans anyone who has ever been the victim of real terrorism. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You even lump in the coinbase controversy and try to blame bitmain for it? This has to be the dumbest shit I have read on this site in a long time, and that is impressive because there are a lot of uneducated people spouting random conspiracy theories every day around here.

NEWS FLASH - BITMAIN IS A HARDWARE COMPANY THAT CONTINUES TO MAKE HARDWARE.

Of course they are making ASICs whenever they can, that is their business model.

Of course they mine on them before releasing them to the public. Whenever you create a new product you need to test it. You test a miner by MINING WITH IT.

ASICs are a natural progression of this space. This is not new, nor is it a surprise.

You butthurt people and your victim mentality try to blame bitmain for everything under the sun. Everyone thinks crypto is supposed to be a get rich quick scheme because of last years unsustainable rise. Now that the market has corrected everyone is looking for someone to blame rather than own up to their own ignorance when it comes to the economics of this space.

nah, china is taking over the Philippines due to its dumb president. china is greedy in nature, thats evident. i dont support anyone. i dont care with your presidents neither.

The facts about a trade war are very simple.

China has been waging a trade war against the USA since the 70s .

Trump was elected to go after China as he specializes in loan renegotiation .

The USA has been punished by every political move with trade to China for the last 40years.

Trump sees what I see.  China sends in 4 to the 1 we send them.  And China charges heavy tariffs on what we send.

Trump will tariff the shit out of them. To even it up and to pay the debt on the t bills we sold to China.

China is in desperate financial status if we tariff the fuck out of them.

I don’t like trump but he knows money and how to fuck people over.

China will be financially crushed by tariffs.

Btw it will kick Amazon and Walmart in the nuts pretty hard.

Or not. As China may see this and have a counter move.

Not sure if I agree with your statements....

China didn't really come in power until the 90's.  Not sure if you're old enough to know but prior to 2000's...everything was made in Taiwan/Japan.    The reason why it was made elsewhere is because American companies moved over there for cheaper labor / cost.   Same exact reason why large corporations moved their manufacture to another country.  Now if you're a business man, would you pay someone $20 an hour where you can get 2 of same worker overseas for price of 1? or better yet, see if you can find someone that's willing to work for $10 an hour...

Trump does have good intentions, but it needs to goes a lot deeper than doing what he's doing.   I would love to buy all Made in the USA stuff but unfortunately we don't make sh*t here anymore and even if we do, the cost will be double or more....

Nixon started the mess he opened USA and China gave them good deals and this ended the Vietnam war.
Terms always favored China which was on purpose. Now China is in the position of a much larger middle class .

It was done at the expense of the USA middle class.

Politically I am a one from column a and one from column b guy..

But we got really far from thread. Yeah China or bitmain are mining every Algo worth Mining.

At 10 million to build a first run and maybe 4 to 6 months   To be Mining the coins

they should do it.

The developers need to fork fork fork and fork again.

Make an Algo have three forks ready and fork every four to six months.

It could really work to grow things .  If gpu developers fork just slow enough bitmain could chase at a pace that grows things.

The major issue is bitmain overtaking the gpus too quickly.

Not the gpus forking too quickly .

Hopefully a proper pace is kept and the balance gets corrected.

Xmr + xmo fork. Could be the start of a bull run.

I think so too...It fluctuates so much the past few weeks that it makes me think there are ASICS out there for it already (either that or everybody and their mother decides to mine equihash and keeps jumping from coin to coin)....

Bitmain (and similar developers), will use this unfair business model until they know that they can have big profitability. They do not care about their buyers.
Develop specific algo ASIC (what is not cheap), mine in private, make an extra profit. But that mining is not enough to pay the development.
When they calculate that it is better to start selling the units, they know that they can sell tens of thousands in few days.

After last successful Monero ASIC resistance fork, future buyers can see that buying an ASIC is a very risky and speculative invesment. ROI can be infinite (no ROI).  You invested in very expensive unit (12000USD on the beginning of sell), and  now You can mine only small coins where profitability is more than 4x lower than Monero (today). Every day some coin become ASIC resistance, and You will only have a luxuries doorstop.

I think much possible to be next algo is Equihash for zcash coin and other equihash coins.

the possible other Algo that I think is Neoscrypt. Since bitmain not success in their old project about centralizition I think this is their way to get benefits of making new hardware for other algo's.

The worst could result is GPU mining will die.

Asics blatantly step on the GPU. It's war. But it seems to me that the founders of coins are also interested in decentralizing mining. They must support GPU mining. I hope that they will apply some sort of protection against asics in the future. Let's see. Now mining is not very profitable business. I'm not gonna fight for him.

they have asics for all popular coins that can be mined.

aggreed. my reason is very simple. On December 2017, the network has rate of ETH was 130.000Gh/s. Today, we are at 245.000gh/s

Considering that almost all GPU's are doing about 30mh/s average

115.000gh/s = 115.000.000 mh/s.

thats 3.833.333 GPU's that in just 3 months  have entered all pools of ETH.

i simply can't believe that's possible. Bitmain is selling their Crap hardware. 180mh/s Asic mining crap. They have more efficent and more powerfull Asic mining hardware that have been pushing in for a while.

Consider this. Yesterday , at about the time of writing, we had a network hasrate of about 235.000gh/s. In just 24 horas, 10.000 gh/s have joined the ETH pool. thats like 333.333 gpu's joining the pool. Or get it this way. 55.555 6gpu's mining rigs switched to ETH in less than 24 hours.

Is this possible??? NO , OF COURSE NOT!!!!

i think going forward they will be more sneaky and slowly push the hash rate
up hoping to better hide thier asics, monero plans to fork every six months which
is the best option to keep them out.

let them either develop thier own gpus or build rigs like everyone else
