Meta is about the whole forum and that includes "stats and the system" and I don't see any problem with it. and to be honest "stats and the system" threads are not that much in order to create a childboard for it. and if they ever created one it will most like be deserted. since as far as I can see most "stats and the system" threads are just being updated by the OP. other than that there is not much traffic on those types of threads(at least to the way I see it).

anyway, are you talking about this? LoyceV's Merit data analysis (full data since Jan. 24, 2018; not just 120 days)
No, I am not pointing anyone out here. Every post was informative though I didn't see any real use of these posts here.
If it is really important for the community to have these kinds of stats then bitcointalk staff should be the one making them.

I do not see the relationship between stats and the merit system being matured. Such posts are created to highlight key areas which may be useful or interesting to know, although I feel we can do without some of the stats which is posted here, some others are quite helpful.

Meta board is for discussions about the forum, if a topic falls within that range, it technically belongs here. Statistics is not a specific topic for discussion, so making a child board would be ambiguous and can also be misunderstood as an official source for forum statistics.
No, there is no relationship between the two but everything started with the Merit system.
In the beginning, it was important to check the stats as there could be illegal sale of sMerits, multiple holders could have used the merit to farm new accounts. It could have take more time to stop spam without these informative posts[though merit source system was there for long term].

Also we need childboards for guides related to cryptocurrencies and bitcointalk, importantly for rank up inspirational stories. Grin

I don't think we need them for now because not much of activities on meta section  related to forum development and other stuffs you are talking about so it's better to stick how it has been until there is a necessity to create a childboard for it.
You are right. LOL

I seriously thought they could be somewhere else as they are capturing space for real issues. I never check second page and could have miss something that might be important.
Although Meta board looks quite stable with very limited threads now. It wasn't the case few years back.

Sub section you mean?

If the purpose is to segrate posts that could useful for future references like statistical reports, compilations of reports to admin, ban appeal, archival posts and etc could be better if meta section got more activities or pile of post per day.

The activity in meta seems so low for seeing the same thread the last time I visit the section. I think that this is not necessary yet for now and if it does the the admin of the forum will be the first to announce to make the changes. Besides, making sub section can get me tired of moving for one sub-section to another sub-section just to check the threads being made. I had trouble also with my internet connection that slows me down to access threads in this board I am not against it but for now I am comfortable with threads being unified.

I can suggest other members to change their posting habitt as much as possible the title of the thread should have determiner or something that will distinguish like the statistical reports, ban appeals, for archival posts, and reported post to the admin. This can help my life easier if it can go happen other than that there are feautures actually being seldom in use like the image below that coule put to good use if there will be some modifications if possible in the choices or options.

If that feature will be encourage for the users to use then we can easily determine posts that are intended like the posts I had mention above.

Above all, let us wait for the admin to decide things here and should not tell them what to do because they are the members that knows more about this forum (staff, personnel and the admin of this forum)
Agree.

I find some topics about stats boring but it can't be helped if there are more than two member who love posting it. I would prefer they set up a website for all their stats and create one topic here to discuss improvements and answer inquiries from members. The ninja site looks good to me even if there is no data on merits and the creator only maintains one topic here afaict.
Things are upside down for now but let's see how it goes.
Loyce do have his website. Check it out for some amazing stats --> https://loyce.club/     Warning: you could end up here on bitcointalk.org
Check some of your stats on Vod's website --> https://bpip.org/Profile?id=2771581

Majority of discussion (>50%) on meta board isn't about merit/merit system, so new child/sub-board isn't needed. Besides, for some time there are fewer discussion about merit/merit system.

Besides, no one force you to read stats about merit. I also don't read majority stats about merit these days since there aren't significant change (unless theymos update merit sources or source sMerit amount)
Agree.

I don't know which statistic you're talking about, it's true that sometimes post stats fill one page, to start, but meta has heavy traffic, for that not all statistical posts are boring, on the contrary they are profitable, making it easy for new and old members to review them, because there are several statistical posts that are updated every week in the meta.

example: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/complete-overview-of-users-on-dt1-and-dt2-and-their-ratings-5139250 and also this one: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/loycevs-merit-data-analysis-full-data-since-jan-24-2018-not-just-120-days-3078328

This has been going on for years and is still being updated, until recently.

So talking about a new board (statistics) doesn't seem necessary, because only 1-2 people do this skill, If, a new board is formed, I swear only 1-2 people post there, so Meta is: a worthy place for those who do, if you mind just ignore it, solve the problem, safe is not it.
I never said they are boring, they do have interesting information. Members would love to have a look on these stats but no real use for them, if I am not missing something.

Some of these statistical posts are quite interesting to me personally, but I do not see the need to open a special subforum for them. The Meta section is the appropriate place for such posts and, as some have already stated, if you don't like them, just ignore them.
Thanks, I'll do that.

I don't think we need a child board. It would be better to raise the age limit,or the intelligence requirement for posters.
LOL
It should be the age limit. With Intelligence requirement inplace forum will see a drastic decline in user base. Cheesy

Maybe covered most of the things and haven't repeated things twice for the similar posts.

Also if you analysis the meta section is not crowded with new threads as in other sections of the forums. So currently there is no need top open any new sub-threads under the meta.

The merit system is matured enough that we don't need those stats now.
There are nearly more than 10+ posts on page 1 at the time of writing this.
