All of them are spam. Mods may not have noticed it.

It's something new to me. Can't one ask a person to join as his/her referral and pay for the same? I thought as it is considered a job, it's allowed.  Huh

See BadBear's post I quoted above. It isn't allowed. It is solely for advertising and what they are paying is what they get from referral earning. If there is any additional payment other than from referral earning, it maybe allowed. Some referrals are allowed in tasks like these. For example, to track new registrations/traffic from forum, site owners may use referral.

Yes thanks for quoting it, i knew i saw it but still the excuse that they cant see everything is kind of weird because some of those giveaways are sometimes really big and stay on front page for days, weeks even more but knowing the mods confirmed it i can start reporting them then

Im talking about games and rounds section, here are some examples of it that are not closed or moderated in any way by the mods:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--953963

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--950942

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--1019524

and many more but there is no point in posting any more

You are allowed to put your refferal link on your signature
So, when you make promotion, ask users to join through refferal link on your signature
And you might want to use link shortener, so every user can't know the refferal link

Any you should know it already when you join this forum

Still referral spam.

If you pay people to register under your ref link it works on games and rounds, also sometimes when people find new promos or giveaways they give their ref link and a non ref link, seems to be allowed aswell.

Still referral spam.

But i have seen plenty of threads on the games and rounds section doing that and they werent deleted. ??
Just because we don't delete it, doesn't mean it is allowed. We can't possibly read everything on this forum, so we will miss things. If you see stuff like that, report it and it will be handled.

Maybe you didnt read my post wich says : Rules are rules but for example as far as i know posting your ref link in a post is not allowed but i have seen a LOT and i mean a lot of "giveaways" for registering under a ref link and that kind of stuff. How come thats allowed?

And i know a mod said once that it was not allowed no matter what.

That's a job/task for which the OP of that particular giveaway pays. Actually that's not a giveaway as the person needs to join that website as a referral of the OP and he gets paid for the work just as the threads in Service section. I don't know why people call it a Giveaway when it's a task and yes, it's allowed as the OP is paying for the referral and making him do a job (Eg: joining a PTC site and clicking ads as his referral).

Posting your referral link just to advertise it is not allowed but if one gives an incentive, it's allowed.

@OP: Giveaway threads are allowed ONLY in the Games & Rounds section but yeah, there are certain rules as well. I guess you might be talking about Altcoin giveaways:

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.

Well you could actually put your ref link in your signature and post with it. There would be no problems if you did just like that. And also, giveaways have a certain board for those things. If you posted on the wrong board, surely your post will be deleted. If you can show me a post that has some ref links on it, and it has some giveaways, I will believe that this forum has gone way too over-moderated. But if you can not provide any, well..

Rules are rules, anyway.

This is a message to forum operators

Your rules huh?

Why not just dictate everything you control already?

Rules are rules after all. If you don't abide with them, then probably the rules will be enforced. It's not that this forum is controlled by dictators; it's just because they want users to experience the best possible experience they would by visiting this forum. Who would want reading a random thread on a wrong child board? Huh

Because the administrators have every right to enforce their own rules...? You're not entitled to anything.

@forum mods, I was gonna report this thread as being in the wrong sectiong (games and rounds) based on the subject.  But since the body isn't actually a a giveway, is it actually in the wrong section?  FWIW, I can't tell what the OP is actually talking about so maybe it's just spam or whatever.

My guess would be the OP posted a giveaway and had it deleted, and now is venting.

That is likely spot on, most likely didn't read the rules on Giveaways in the sticky's and now is whining about it
