Yes, did that.

It appears that the transaction has confirmed to my wallet after 5+ hours.
I have sent that out to bitpay, and it is moving through the confirmation process.

Is it unusual for a transaction to take so long?
I've never had one take more than two hours.

I have another incoming transaction as I thought the problem was a wrong address, so I confirmed the address and sent another.
It has yet to show up, but has been less than two hours.

Yes, I tried that earlier.
Is something going on that would extend confirmation times to 5+ hours?
Try to input this host and port it works on my mobile electrum

Host:btc.smsys.me
port:995

the other reason of slow network your internet might be blocking your electrum that is why the syncing process or confirmation is not finish yet.
Make sure you are not using any vpn or proxy then restart your router or internet and check your electrum wallet again .

hamburger icon in top right > network > server > choose from peers > choose a different server.

3.1.3 on an android tablet.
No orb in the lower right.
The upper left is blue?
Go to Menu -> Network -> Blockchain.
Is the number of verified blocks the same as the number of blocks on any block explorer?
It's currently 525,335 right now.

what version of electrum are you using? you can find out the version number by going to help > about.

what is your operating system?

what color orb do you see in the bottom right?
