Well, coming from a science background I can tell you there is no problem with finding investors as long as you are not picky about what you want to research. But when you want someone to fund your own original research, it is a huge hassle to find the right investor who will be interested. Because not all research is 'profitable' and obviously the investors want to see a return on their investment. It's more of a matter of convincing investors to invest in your research.

I do not think the solution is decentralized nor has anything to do with blockchain.

Also you fell for a scam AI video. Elon Musk is not promoting anything DeSci.

If it was only attention, it is possible because that project right there must be among those few projects (if not the first) that are early to adopt it. It is normal for a hype to fade later on but as long as the project had made a history, it will not be forgotten easily. Haven't heard of that decentralized infrastructure yet but maybe they didn't hype it that much? I think it is better to focus on it first before moving on. Or maybe they realized that it wasn't really catchy for the public, as you know most of the creators are only after the money (as you said there).

That was simple. They will only need to create a strong project. You know, the ones that has a good use case, the one that has a strong fundamental, etc...

DeSci isn't really a new thing even if the acronym is. People tried to fund all sorts of science-based scams back in 2017, because they thought everything needs a blockchain and that would somehow make revenue. So that idea is recycled now, just like all the scams, because there's just too much dumb and new money to ignore.

But yeah, people who would listen to Elon speaking about blockchain tech is definitely good target for scamming.

Even though the market is driven by greed and there are high risks and no use case projects, we should still support projects like this for the industry to evolve, and this Decentralized Science sector could be another market to tap and support because there is usage of the platform.
But will all other concepts that come before this one expect other developers to exploit this for profit, There will be fake projects and duplicates of the real ones for profit, so there's still risk, and we need to be very careful to check the legitimacy of projects that describe themselves as DeSci.

Trend and FOMO it is 
All that is truly decentralized would outperform the centralized at least in credibility and stability of what they do.

Maybe there's still a lot for me to learn but I don't know why Desci is getting this much attention that its getting right now. DeSci sounds cool, but not many people are putting attention to it. Also, not many people are in demand to the anything related to the biotech. This sector is still having a lot of potential for growth and still unexplored sector at this moment.

The problem is i'm not really sure DeSci is solving the existing problems. We have tons of academics regularly doing research, but they rarely solving the existing problem. This doubting me DeSci's capability to do better than what academics did.  i'd see it as the next wave to FOMO.

I started following Desci right from the time cz announced that he was going to go deep on Decentralized science shortly after he was released from prison. This is why it wasn't to surprising to see Bio protocol do well upon its listing. The Desci space is still super young.
