Update...

Rye now displays the current BTC price in the menu bar:
- Clicking the price will let you put Rye in background mode
- In background mode the dock icon and (currently useless) app menu disappear
- It also has the option to show the main window (and restore the dock icon/menu)
- Quit from the status bar menu

Have you got a mailing list to get notified when its ready for release?

Love the background photo btw!!

Thanks, Dubai is unreal Smiley

We don't have a mailing list yet yet, if you PM me your email I'll send you an update when it's ready (I promise to never ever spam you, no matter what, under any circumstances)

Isn't one problem that by the time you have transfered BTC between exchanges, the arbitrage opportunity will have disappeared, or perhaps reversed direction? These things tend to be quite fleeting.

Hi everyone, my buddy Bennett and I, from NerdTribe.com, are developing software that notifies you any time an arbitration opportunity exists between exchanges, and lets you complete the buy/sell orders all with the click of 1 button, we call it Rye.

We've just hit our first milestone and thought we'd share the progress.  Your comments, questions, gripes, give them to me.

The current version...
  • Displays the Mt. Gox & Bit Stap prices
  • Displays a desktop notification when there's a significant change in price on either exchange

Up next we're working on
  • Notifications triggered by specific arbitration amounts set by the user
  • Buy/sell button to make it easy to quickly execute an arbitration order
  • User settings that let you specify how & when you want to receive alerts

What else should we add?  How can we make this thing better?

Here's a screen shot:
