Cold wallet (or cold storage) is term for any wallet that never came online (it can be paper wallet, wallet installed on an old PC, old cellphone ...)

Ah ok, so its basically old school devices not attached to the web. A USB what be the same thing right ?

Yea. You can create a wallet (with e.g. electrum) write down few public keys (so you can share them to receive funds), put the wallet file onto USB and you have your own cold storage (assuming you did all this offline)

the above is just example, there are better ways how to do it.

Which wallet it's best?

It's matter of opinion.
Depends on what are you looking for. Security? Ease to use? Versatility?

For me it's ledger (because I have it). It's secure, easy to use, and pretty versatile ... all i need.

Exodus is the most popular one. But you need to remember that it can be used only on a single machine. And bitcoin sending fee is a bit more than the others. Where some of the others gives a category as Small, Medium or Large,, Exodus do not have such feature.

Goosebump Exodus is a lite wallet wich works through third-party servers. This is not very bad, but a cold multi-currency wallet would have been better. Is'nt it?

Exodus wallet can accommodate 17 currencies. Including Bitcoin,Litecoin,Thh,EOS and Salt.

I and many others use a desktop wallet called 'Exodus'. Supports many different cryptos as well as it has a nice backup feature for security purposes. The current downside is that it can only be used on 1 machine. However, depending on how you look at it, that could be a safety upside as well.

Fair warning, Exodus BTC sending fees is on the higher side than most wallets. It has been a while since I used it, but I do not remember an option to tweak the fees. Jaxx wallet provides a selection of Small, Medium, or Large sending fee depending on what the user wants.

Hi, Newbie question i guess.

Is there a desktop wallet that works with all or most crypto currencies ?

Thx

Exodus.
Exodus looks good but it only works with about 14 or so coins.

Well, what can I say. It works only with "useful coins".

Jaxx which is available in multiple platforms, Coinomi for Android only (more coins supported), Exodus for desktop only. It's worth mentioning that none of them are open source so holding large amounts there is not really recommended and also, Coinomi and Jaxx had some major security flaws in the past.

I have never tried both, but, I was looking for desktop wallet insights, thanks for the feedback about Coinomi and Jaxx. Have a good one!
