4 PCIe Slots right, but u see that u have not enaugh space for the card in the second PCIe slot for the cooling.
so if i would build such a system, i would only put 3 vegas in.
or change the motherboard into the asrock taichi or the msi gaming pro, which have anaugh space for the cooling of each card.
And the Fans... you will need much of it, but you will need realy fast ones to get the heat in the case under control.
And then this will be really loud  Undecided

what case u want to use?

corsair carbide, thermaltake view 71,  rosewill nighthawk or b2 spirit. if i build it

Im trying to price everything out right now, the main problem is getting GPUs somewhere near its sticker price, cuz im not paying over $1000 for a used vega 64 if the MSRP is $499-$599

the expensive option is going for a digital storm build, but with GPU prices right now its pretty close...

EDIT: I really don't care about fan noise, i actually like it, i have a fan in my room at night at all times even in the winter. I don't mind the heat either, i only care about the heat for the computer/mining rig -

One concern is that it might get hot in the room which makes it unpleasant to use the computer.

It'll keep me warm in the winter Cheesy - for summer i have an AC window unit

you want to run 4 vegas in a tower?
with 2 its ok but for 4 i think u need a server case or a rig.
And then u need a Mainboard with 4 full pcie slots if i understand u right.
seems to be an expensive system.

so i think 2 in the tower and for the other you build a rig.
i have done so and im happy with that

ASUS x399 Prime has 4 PCIe slots - but will the fans be able to handle the heat? lol
yeahh its an expensive system, but as close to a rig as i can get... besides Threadripper + 4 vegas should put around 9000h/s on Monero, which will help me offset the cost a little

is loudness a problem? If not, why not air cooled, or tight fitment?

loudness is not a problem for me, but tight fitment might be. which is why i am worried about the cooling in the tower itself

i'd like to eventually run 4 Vega 64's + the threadripper to about 9000H/s - leaving 1 core for browsing the web or whatever

why are so angry CryptoWatcher420  Huh

You only want to watercool the Ryzen? Think that is possible, with the 2vegas and the ryzen, 240mm Radiator is to small i think

thank you! i will look into something bigger, maybe GPU liquid coolers as well... not too sure

what a noob, no one cares that you are going to build a gaming rig, you want some help. build a dedicated mining rig, even then there is plenty of information here on the forum that asking most questions is just redundantly stupid as there are many noobs before you asking the same danm thing

end solution DO YOU OWN RESEARCH

I was thinking of buying/building a desktop with mining capabilities Cheesy
specs AMD Ryzen1950x and 2 Vega 64's to start
not too sure about the motherboard (any tips or preferences?)

2 DIMMS as i've heard it improves the hash rate on the 1920x - should i go with 2x8GB or 2x16GB or higher (will it make a big difference for mining?)

 source: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Monero-Mining-Threadripper-DIMM

will a 240mm liquid cooler fully sealed be sufficient?

is there anything else that can improve the hash rate of this desktop monster? (besides OC)
I would like to mine cryptonote algos, such as Monero and others.

thx. Cool
