I found your old question asking about paper wallet

The first time the paper wallet with Spend/Private Key QR and Load/Public Key QR was printed out without even inserting the money into the ATM machine, after feeding the ATM with 100$ a  "Buy Crypto Receipt" was printed out.

The second time i inserted the 100$ into the ATM,  only the paper wallet with Spend/Private Key QR and Load/Public Key QR was printed out BUT without "Buy Crypto Receipt" .... :-(

Based on this quote, you have two paper wallets, one of which does not contain coins because it was printed before feeding the machine and the other contains about $ 500.
use pubic key to know how much bitcoin you have and private key to spend it.
any way if you remember the machine support number call them.

Hello forum

Some years ago I bought some Bitcoin-funds (paper-wallets from a Bitcoin-ATM).

Question:
Is it possible to determine the actual value of a this paper-wallets WITHOUT swiping the paper-wallet into a wallet-app? How?

Thank's for every feedback!

Joe

Yes you can. just enter public address in an online explorer to see balance.

Don't confuse mBTC (milli Bitcoin) in Electrum and BTC on preev.com. You may not be able to afford that jet yet Wink
Actually I have that confusion when I was new to the crypto space / new to wallet software lol. I had to change the unit from mBTC to BTC just to get used to it again. It's kind of a skill that you can train, it's quite easy, but I still prefer to use BTC. To show the reality of how much I have. Definitely not a jet lol.

P.S. Changing units is easy

If you have the balance, you can input the BTC amount in preev.com to see its value.

If you have the receipt, usually it has the public key and the private key. You can do it in a couple of steps to see the balance.
- Use the public key
- Use the private key (opening and using the paper wallet)

If you are going to check the balance and not sweep the wallet, you could use the public key to review transactions, etc.

Below is for Electrum

- Create a Standard wallet
- Import Master key
- Import xpub key (the public key starts with xpub)

Once you have done that, you will have successfully created a watch-only wallet for that specific paper wallet to see how much it has.

If you have the balance, you can input the BTC amount in preev.com to see its value.

You need to know the address to do so. On the paper wallet, is there any indication of the address? It starts with either 1, bc1 or 3. If there is, scan that QR code and key it into a blockexplorer like Blockchair.com to check the funds within that address.

I would highly recommend you to sweep the funds within to a new wallet that you control. It is never good to have someone else generate the keys for you, in this case the Bitcoin ATM I presume.

AFAIK, Bitcoin ATMs print both the private key and address in their paper wallets so you could just take the address and check it in a blockexplorer like Blockchain.com.
