I am a big fan of Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini
I love this phone and you can buy it for around 100$ (~200$ new one)
This is great phone in this price and it is small and feels great in a hand.

Apple hates Bitcoin so do not use any Apple products.

I am looking for a smartphone to do local btc transactions (buying pizza and selling for cash).
What are the things to consider when shopping for such a device? What OS works best (= reliable and secure)?
My guess would be android, but I am open for others (probably no symbian applications out there?

I would greatly appreciate if you could point me to a specific device and not be led by emotions for one manufacturer or another.
