And as long as I am asking, I presume it is a problem or not? It is still reporting to the pool.

Not help, sorry, but comment... I have one machine that is way more susceptible to "Can't connect" than others. That said, I'm pretty sure the mining pool I'm using was under DDOS attack last night, because I couldn't get to their web site either.
