The recent independence vote in Catalonia caused quite a stir and was contentious at best. The government in Madrid also tried to restrict means of funding from the separatists.
There are now reports by El Pais and the Metro newspaper that marketing and voter services for the event were paid for in Crypto? It also got a tweet from Julian Assange at wikileaks.
If true, could this be the very first indication of how Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can help fund revolutions? Maybe governments have another reason to fear?
