I would like someone to help create a linear bootstrap.dat to save you a few days of downloading since if there happens to be a new interest in Datacoin, the burden on the few full nodes would be less than ideal.
That would be cool. There should be more recognition for data coin. First's to bring a new feature are worthy of note.
Kind of like the name too. Sad the project seemed to die out and no more development happened.

Hello,

The challenge I'm facing currently is finding the XPM mining modules to stuff into the linearize scripts.
If I find them, then creating the linear bootstrap.dat should be as simple as it is with the ltc-scrypt Python module or with the x11/x13/x15 mining modules.

I don't think Datacoin is completely dead.  There was a thread with an announcement in the last month with how the Datacoin chain was used for projecting the French elections. (ByteStamp)
Its been a few years since I last touched it but when I came around this month and went to checkout whether I could find the swarm; it wasn't too difficult.  Chain syncing takes a couple of days from the Genesis block.

Tuning setsievepercentage and setsieveextensions yielded at 50% boost over Oocook5u's original release parameters.
Difficulty is presently at 6.9218591 and block rewards are slowly on their way down from 20.85 DTC.

Alive and well.

You can download here:

http://datacoin.info/

Reports malware but that is because it is miner program. See virus scan results:

Many peers on network. I have these today:

109.106.62.168
125.215.137.66
169.0.59.253
213.46.218.242
5.8.126.127
51.254.196.222
63.155.195.92
89.76.250.116
99.0.80.78

Hello,

Just to add to the above, while those peers are definitely on the network -- you will only want to addnode for those which are full nodes.
From the list you see, 109.106.62.168 is a full node.  The rest of them do not answer on Port 4777 and are either behind UPnP or not running with listen=1.

I have been unable to download the datacoinqt wallet nor have i been able to find a functioning version of datacoin source code on the world wide web.  Is it possible that datacion is still running, with new developments, but no way into the blockchain for commoners at all?
