i just checked my confirmations and i think it's a bug with electrum.. on blockchain.info, i have over 2000 confirmations.

Just restart electrum. It does that sometimes and restarting it fixes it. Next time please make your own thread.

no, restarts don't work.. it still shows the same thing. it's been this way for a while now.

i don't know if making another thread is really that useful.. it only adds to more spam. this topic is related, so i'd think it's fitting to be in here.

Those are the 3 transactions.  And yeah the amounts were actually 2, then 3 and 3.  I changed them in my original post to be more anonymous or whatever... but yeah.

Thanks for the help guys

I thought you said the transactions were for 0.4 coins? 15rg.. is not your address?

it reads as "-1 confirmations. Date: pending."

Thanks for the help thus far.

The 2 are looking good, but nothing at all on the 3rd.  Apparently the guy sent from his coinbase wallet, which is likely causing the problem.  I spoke with him for a while and it seems unlikely he's doing anything malicious on his end.  Any clue where those 3 bitcoins are, if they'll ever make it to my wallet or get refunded to him?  Or is there some option c where they somehow got lost..?

"Estimated Confirmation Time    90 hours (queue position 5366)"
It looks like he sent it with a very very poor node.  May take days for it to confirm.
I also had a problem with coinbase wallets before, I sent, the transaction marked as pending, then returned to my wallet a few hours later.

2 confirmations on 2+3 BTC means these are safe
unconfirmed 3 BTC have one of the input still unconfirmed, it might confirm later or not.

That is probably a good sign, but as others said a transaction id would help. (Never a private key though).

Update

Now it's showing 2 transactions in my wallet, both with one confirmation

What are the chances those are legit bitcoins now?

Hey,

I realize I should be more careful than I was, so I'm not trying to speak badly of bitcoins or anything, I just want to understand what's going on in my situation.

I arranged to purchase bitcoins for an online $ transfer with someone I don't know all that well.  We agreed on a price and I sent for 0.4 coins.  He received, and said he sent me 0.4 bitcoins, which showed up in my client as unconfirmed.  I figured these were legit coins, so I send $ for 0.5 worth of coins.  At this point, he claims to have sent the coins, but nothing is showing up in my wallet.

However, on the blockchain.info page for my wallet's address, the 0.5 worth of coins are showing up.  In fact, they are showing up twice.  So my "final balance" reads 1.4 btc on blockchain, but all 3 transfers are unconfirmed. All that's showing up in my bitcoin client is the 0.4 transaction, which is still completely unverified (it's been about an hour)

He claims he may have "accidentally clicked send twice" which is why the transaction is showing up twice.  What are the chances this is some kind of glitch I don't understand, versus him doing something to send the illusion of bitcoins while actually stealing from me?

cliffs:
My wallet is showing 0.4 bitcoins
My address on blockchain.info is showing 1.4 bitcoins
How is that possible?
