Whats the relationship like between Coinbase and blockchain.info?

As far as I know, both services you mentioned have no common connection.

If I understand the situation you're talking about, it is probably just a bad idea that I think that any virus on your computer might have changed the wallet address.
No, such a thing is not possible. If you say the wallet address has been copied and pasted correctly, then I think there is a problem with one of the services you are using or there may be a problem in the BCH network.

This is often the case if there's a drag with their server perhaps due to the network You're right there's no connection between the 2. Coinbase is employed to secure our money And from blockchain we will learn all about crypto Also transactions through blockchain are much faster.

Whats the relationship like between Coinbase and blockchain.info
I copied the address from Bhc address from Coinbase, pasted to blockchain.info and clicked send

Now im like what the hell happened here, i was on Coinbase few days later and don’t see anything
Then i look blockchain.info history and it shows that it was sent to some long, even invalid address? (Not the case, valid address)

Can anybody tell what happened and where is the bitcoin cash
https://imgur.com/a/k02CbcN

Update 7 April:

It shows that the bitcoin cash is in this address- pr994hajwtscfvgcprmak52czn95uyg6gu6kysfpcq
The address has one transaction and i sure as hell don’t know anything about that wallet address.

Its impossible that i could of copied it from somewhere else.

So here’s what happened

Step one : copy paste coinbase aadress to blockchain and click send
Step two : sent bitcoin cash ended up in - pr994hajwtscfvgcprmak52czn95uyg6gu6kysfpcq which is not the current coinbase bitcoin cash address

Step three: lose all bitcoin cash and there is nothing that could of prevented that from happening

Edit : My opinion on this

You know if i made mistake somehow and sent it to the wrong address, I’d just accept it and end it.
It would be an unfortunate mistake and it wouldn’t affect my quality of live.I still have food on the table tomorrow

As i recall the sending in my memory, and i barely make one transaction a month.

i took out my iphone and opened coinbase and blockchain and do the back and fourth logging in.

There is just nowhere to copy and find another address to make a mistake with the sending.
Id accept a mistake, but i just can’t see how that could of happened.

Where did the address even come from ?

I’m just an athlete doing physical training and browsing social media

Edit : Update 24 April

I made a test transfer to coinbase and saw that address indeed changed after receiving the coins.I believe the earlier transfer changed and disappeared without crediting the account first

I talked to blockchain and believe that they are not at fault.
Coinbase has still not answered the first email and there is no other way to contact them.I believe that this is what happened

Second sent email to coinbase :

Hello i believe coinbase took my bitcoin cash.

I made a transfer of over 10 bitcoin cash to my coinbase wallet, but after sending the coins my coinbase wallet address had changed and there was no history of  transfer

The coins are currently in an untouched address which i believe to belong to coinbase and i believe that there was a coinbase wallet mistake and error in my account

I think the best option is to wait for an answer for technical support, although the situation is very incomprehensible.

Coinbase generate new addresses automatically after every transactions you made. These new addresses are also generated when your funds are moved between your coinbase wallets.
It is done for your security to remain anonymous from third parties.
And I guess those used addresses can also be reused. So your deposits will still arrive on your wallet if you used that.
I already experienced it on other exchanges, but for a withdrawal request, I booked a ticket several times and then it went back to my wallet after a week.

Maybe there are just some errors on your wallet input. Probably you accidentally removed or added characters.

But hope and wait for coinbase to take action.

I think it could also be some sort of virus in the computer as well right. Now don't get me wrong if coinbase or blockchain is at fault they are at fault and I can't defend them, I do not know them and I am not affiliated with them so I can't say anything on their behalf. However, there was once a very common virus that made your bitcoin address copy pasting impossible, you would copy your own address and when you want to paste it copied someone else's address, that way people would get your money.

It was a virus that was put into your computer, never bother you in any other situation and that is why nobody suspects it until it is too late, and even sometimes after it is too late as well because they do not suspect it and think it is something else. Try it couple more times, try to copy your btc or bch address somewhere else and see what happens.

The same address received some BTC. https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/3L8yHKLYoFJYSjj6XVwYpDJ5upHV8giwnp

Does this address belong to your Coinbase account? If it does, then it proves you accidentally sent your BCH to a BTC address and Coinbase doesn't have an obligation to return it.

The Bitcoin cash address was accessed and coins taken likely by Coinbase or one of their employees and they have several times ignored and avoided returning the coins

You should prepare good documentation (dates/time/relevant information/addresses/e-mails) and try the following:

- complain elsewhere publicly, like on reddit or something
- tell @brianarmstrong on twitter that his company's employees are not helping you regaining access to your own funds
- file a consumer complaint (for U.S.: https://www.usa.gov/consumer-complaints#item-35237)

If I read chronologically the case of missing Bitcoin Cash that you experience, there are two possibilities. The first possibility is that you
copy and paste incorrectly, you copied the Bitcoin address from Coinbase instead of the Bitcoin Cash address. Sometimes we are not careful,
the second possibility there is an error on the site Coinbase. So the address that is copied when pasting changes to another address, for more
details you should contact Coinbase support.
One way or another, if you have any problems, you need to contact the support service. Of course, you do not need to exclude your own mistake, but it is not always possible to double-check all your actions after something has already happened and has lost your funds. In addition, I adhere to very strict rules regarding the fact that if I had one or at most two problems on one resource, then I leave this resource without looking back.

It is possible that you accidentally copied a Bitcoin address instead of BCH. Coinbase uses p2sh Segwit addresses for Bitcoin and the address you sent to is also p2sh. When converted to legacy format the address is 3L8yHKLYoFJYSjj6XVwYpDJ5upHV8giwnp. You might want to check if that matches one of your BTC addresses on Coinbase.
that is possible what happened to OP, unconsciously copied and pasted a BTC address
@OP can you check whether 3L8yH... is one of your BTC receiving addresses on coinbase?
or might as well contact coinbase support and ask whether BTC address 3L8yH... belongs to them
and explain to them you may have mistakenly sent BCH to your coinbase's BTC deposit address
I think when you make a mistake when sending funds in the form of cryptocurrency or bitcoin to the wrong address then it will not be possible to make a refund, because I have experienced it like that and have contacted support but did not give good results. for the OP there is nothing wrong with trying. hopefully the assets can come back.
before withdraw usually exchanges always give a warning to us to check again our purpose address.and if we still wrong while fill it, i think this is silly mistake.we should not make mistakes on this.

this is not in the sense of asking for a refund, but asking for a help to rectify a mistake
if that BTC address 3L8yH... actually belongs to coinbase, then they can also access BCH address pr994haj...
it's a matter of coinbase's willingness to help recover those coins and credit the user
(cmiiw) their policy is if the value of that deposit is over certain amount they will recover it for a fee

This is their response.I can’t respond to them but i would have to say that it can’t be a different crypto currency address because the coins arrived and are still there ?

They did give me a address history but i think it was there on coinbase when i sent the payment.

I’d really want to know what happened to the coins.I believe coinbase changed BHC address after me sending the coins there
Havent still resolved yet?

Checking this address pr994hajwtscfvgcprmak52czn95uyg6gu6kysfpcq and the coins was still on there. Its really impossible for those coins havent reflected
on coinbase wallet balance. If you have contacted them, then why not showing up some screenshots on your blockchain.info about sending out that BCH to corresponding
BCH wallet you have on coinbase? Simple screenshots showing the address will really be a big evidence that you havent sent out the wrong crypto as they
said into their email response.

Since the Bcash has still not been moved it is impossible to know who the address belongs to. It is unlikely that it is an exchange address because for deposits that large they would've moved the funds to their main cold storage address. The most likely explanation is that you had some clipboard hijacking malware on your device that switched the address.

This changes are not stable and I can not sure about that price drop is suddenly happened and that chances of development is little more higher than the defeat so don't worry about the current situation of Bitcoin cash I think it will expect a lot more from today.

That's a lot of having $1300 worth of BCH. If you haven't mistakenly copied coinbase BCH address then those coins should be on your coinbase wallet. Its odd that
it didn't credit out.If that's the case then you wont really have any option but to contract their support.

I am already doing this.

Coinbase anwered the first time but they have ignored further contact when i provided the details they asked for.Even if they are at fault, they can and likely will deny any faults due to being able to dispute that the receiving bitcoin cash address is not on my account

Is there a way to know to what exchange the bitcoin cash aadress belongs to? Is it possible that my coinbase accounts bitcoin cash aadress changed after sending coins there?

Look like you lose your fund. Did you check transaction details? The address you had generated from coinbase and sent address is same? I don't think so. Click on https://www.coinbase.com/addresses then select BCH address. All your BCH address will be there. Now check on blockchain that you sent BCH. If match then obviously you will get payment. If not match then you lose your fund forever. Because its not reversible.

I don't think if you send bitcoin cash into a bitcoin address, you would be able to get back the coin because coinbase is a centralized wallet that controls the private key of all it's wallet holders and they alone would be able to get that coin back, you can read their policy on what they said about wrongly sending coins to a wrong address so that you can see if you need to contact them or just forget about it.

It looks like you tried initiating a transaction that requires you sending bch to a particular address and the address you copied, you have to investigate if it is the right address that you copied and I do hope you have not mistakenly send your money to a wrong account because if you have, it might be quite difficult to retrieve it back since crypto currency is not like the normally FIAT currency where you can work to a local bank to complain. It is still possible to retrieve it though if the transaction went to an invalid mail, just try to contact them to see if it can be resolved.

You are too impatient.
Check every details of what you did specially the receiving address.
If you really think you did it perfectly then why not contact coinbase?
Of course they have records of every transaction that happened.
But I doubt it will be at their end though. They cannot make errors like that for a big company.

It’s unbelievable that this could happen, i was very careful and don’t recall making mistakes. If it happened to me just like that, it can happen to anybody.

I just lost all of my bitcoin cash, but it's not all too late to just get a bitcoin again and of course I also need to be careful of everything every time there is a process because sometimes we do not see our mistake done so need to be careful and in such circumstances need to move on to accumulate bitcoin again.

What about the receiving address in the picture. That doesn’t even look like a valid address

Bcash multisig/p2sh addresses start with a p.

Can anybody tell what happened and where is the bitcoin cash

That's a lot of having $1300 worth of BCH. If you haven't mistakenly copied coinbase BCH address then those coins should be on your coinbase wallet. Its odd that
it didn't credit out.If that's the case then you wont really have any option but to contract their support.

It’s all from back in the day from when it came first out.
