is he hoping btc will crash down to 5$ to save his bacon?
Well, someone tried to manipulate bitcoin-24.com just now by indeed trying to crash the BTC.

On the other hand, does he really need to? 65.000 BTC was traded over a period of 2 days crashing the price of BTC from $15 to $8, and is now back at $10. If he sold at the right time (initiating the crash) and sold at the right time and is now slowly buying back enough BTC he doesn't need to hope for anything.

Pirate is probably trying to convert a large portion of his holdings into dollars and transferring them out of the system. He might manipulate the market some more, but that would be purely for his own profit. Remember, he has no incentive to admit that he was running a Ponzi scheme; it could only come back to bite him if he somehow ended up being prosecuted. Rather than sending the Bitcoin community into a frenzy, it is left to simmer slowly, and efforts to track him down will never become terribly well organized. (Not that they would succeed, anyway.)

Pirate was a ponzi and there were enough warning signs everywhere. He is currently stalling, i dont know why, possibly because some coins are not yet washed.

I dont think anyone will see a bitcent from pirate from here on.

what no one care to ask for his ID b4 handing him 1000's of bitcoins?

Just wait for his shills - notme will be along to say your an idiot for not investing more.

I say this is all just stalling tactic while he either makes a getaway or figures out what the heck to do.  It smells like a classic Ponzi scheme to me.  7% per week is just an impossible and unsustainable payout.  And illogical -- you'll never need to pay your investors nearly that much return (most are happy with 7%/yr!)....unless, that is, you're desperate and need to accumulate as much in assets as quickly as possible to feed other promised, unfunded payouts.

You need some free money too then https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/im-giving-100-roi-away-to-anyone-who-thinks-pirate-is-a-fraud-101751

Time will tell soon enough anyways - when he didnt start paying in a couple days it will get more and more obvious.

Actually considering, sounds like some free money indeed. The cap was raised to 250BTC? I will read the entire description soon, too busy right now. Hope its still open for the next 24h.

Hecate: Now, ready to back up your baseless accusations? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/im-giving-100-roi-away-to-anyone-who-thinks-pirate-is-a-fraud-101751

I don't know if he's a ponzi or not, but I wouldn't go around calling things ponzis unless I knew and had evidence. If you're sure, surely the above bet is not a "bet" but rather "free guaranteed money" for you. Amirite?

Who knows, chances are what he says is different to what people think that means and also different from what he wants them to think he means... so we know nothing :p

ya but, does he know that we know that he knows we know?

lol
I think he knows what we think we know, but i don't know if he knows what we know he knows we don't know.

I know that I'm lost now, but I don't know anything else.

he said he is doing 2 things

1) blocking buys
2) selling the coins out of the system.

I think what he means is he's putting up bid walls at the very front to force people to buy his asks

i also think he is getting ready to take the vacation of a life time.
