In November 2008, a paper titled " Bitcoin : A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System was posted on a Cryptography mailing list. Most of the early support came from the Cypherpunk community.

I think Github was launched in 2008, but people in the Cypherpunk community would not have operated in that kind of environment for Crypto currency related stuff. < Reason : Many people were arrested for creating their own currency >

Bitcoin was a bit of a cloak and dagger kind of technology back then. ^smile^

The account itself doesn't really have any effect on anything except some visual things on Github. Even so, it is better for us to have accounts that claim these emails to prevent impersonators from trying to do anything malicious.

This is an unbelievable github flaw. And that shows how signature verification systems are essential nowadays. PGP etc. If the answer was not quick, something like this could have a significant impact on the market.

I think it's just a fake account. Base on the commit history here[https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commits/master], satoshi did not use Github to develop Bitcoin.
