Anyway, it's good for the newbies if they want to buy copper and they don't have to search for it... (although it's not hard to find it).
I hope that the reason why it's easier to find where to buy the copper membership is that it will be harder to become a Jr. member soon, e.g. 5 merit or something

This section has appeared a long time ago. This is where you can get information about donations (List of VIP Donators, instructions on how to become a donator etc) and purchase a copper membership.

It has been quite a while since the changes were made but i can understand why one could miss it as it didn't stand out as much. And also if you have missed my post.
The option now contains two options, you can get it by just clicking on it

I noticed it earlier. And later, someone created a thread, afaik. It's a while it has been added. Can't believe how you have missed it.
It's easy to find the option buy Copper Membership.
Click on the menu "More" and you will find 2 option. One for buying copper membership and another is for donation.
