When BTC crossed 230 USD for the second time, I "felt" that a new "bubble" was comming, but ever thought it would go to 1000 USD Tongue

I start to miss those 4 digit numbers Sad

You could have predicted the top via TA using a pitchfork from Jan 2013 to the April peak and then stretching it to late 2013. Also, the heiken ashi daily candles from 200 to about 1100 were constantly green up until that point, a sign that you needed to get the f' out (even before China central bank announcements).

nope.

Yes it was - trend line has been pretty consistent since 2011.. always within a few SD's

Hello,

I did a similar chart in r.

If the price is carrying on like this we should touch the second standard deviation soon, around 420 usd ish.

For extracting the trend I’ve used the function stl(Seasonal Decomposition of Time Series by Loess) in R

I still remember hearing about bitcoin when it was roughly $100 and was interested from the start. It seemed like in a very short period of time (2 months or so) the price went up like a rocket, every few days I checked the price it kept going up.

Was this an expected spike predicted by posters using TA? Or was it a sudden flood that was unexpected based on news etc. I obviously wasn't lurking back then so curiosity is setting in.
