Yes, I think that we need the institutional money of large investors. This will lead to the rapid development of crypto. Without new volumes, the market will not grow.
There is news in the media that new investors from Wall Street and heavy industry who are interested in transactions using cryptocurrency will come into cryptocurrency.

I think all the market need is new money enterance. With the new money enterance, I believe that the volume and the prices of the cryptocurrencies can rise and this situation can bring the holders and traders good profits.

Institution or big companies getting involved or putting investment in  cryptocurrency will definitely put the market in a good status and it will provide a very good volume. If the Facebook and Coinbase takeover rumor is true along with the news that  Evan Cheng one of Facebook senior engineer which is a crypto adviser and advocate moving to the Engineering Director position then it will make the prices in a vary good spot as it seams Facebook is getting ready to join the crypto industry.

Crypto is the future. The FIAT is showing resistance and because of that alot of companies are not investing yet, but soon things will change. Because you can't stop evolution. It has to take place, you can hinder it, slow it down but that all, it will eventually take over and that is what is going to happen. Crypto and blockchain will take over and soon big companies and institutions will get in the game. But till then it's us that has to keep it running and we are doing a good job.

Absolutely I agree. To continue to rise we need to solve liquidity problems. For this, volume needs to increase. I hope we will overcome these problems in near future.

Volume is very important for the market, what market needs is constant increasing volume to keep performing well and move upwards, in the last correction we have seen that volume was significantly reduced in the market causing the market to tank badly, now the signs and volume seem to be growing back, market is expected to perform well if the volume sustains and keep growing from here.

Well yes, huge amounts of money may be needed, you can call it "institutional" if you wish.
But just make cryptoes useful, and the prices will rise, also, investments will come (= the money influx you wish to happen)

in any case, only an increase in demand can save the market. to date, we are already very much aware of the impact of Bitcoin on the entire crypto-currency market, and therefore it is worth thinking about its future. Or Bitcoin will fall, Or we should raise it to a new level.

Theoretically, this is true. It will definitely make the price increase significantly. However, this move might get ugly if the institution's intention is to manipulate the market. Demand is great for the market but I want the demand to come from individual person. Institutional money is good but it's not as good as group of people investing in cryptocurrency with the same amount of money the institution will give.

Partially yes.If the people increase their investment in bitcoin,it will increase the price of bitcoin.Even if the old traders start to inverse in bitcoin again, it will increase the demand of bitcoin in the market. If the demand of bitcoin is increased,it will automatically increase the price.

No doubt cryptocurrency do still have a big space to develop even more and even just a small percentage of institutional money would get in then expect it would really give an impact into the price but the question is on how and when? That thing wont really be easily be considered yet those investors would always seek out about security and we do know that crypto is lit when it comes to that matter.
Adoption is the best thing we could have because the more investor or user then it is already anticipated on what would be the volume.

Oh sure. To grow the market you need large trading volumes. Also need a lot of investment in the market, the demand for coins, active trade. positive news
it can happen, but the problem of being able to invest or buy it to make high volumes is not as easy as we imagine, one would think twice about investing in the very unpredictable market conditions of today, and now many people are caught in a deep gulf , so to be able to grow the market back to high prices, it takes a long time if my estimates.

Certainly the market needs another volume spike to breach the previous ATH. But, I don't think smart money and institutional investors will go straight to the trading market to buy crypto. Instead, they will discreetly purchase over the counter. The weak hands need to shed off from the market along with the bears that are trying to pull the price down. This is an exciting moment for crypto and I am looking forward to Q4 of 2018.

If institutional money will enter the market that will lead to severe hype in short terms then all the market will blow absolutely and cryptos to stay will need years to achieve their rates again. That did happen already called dotcom bubble.
It has been stated in so many times that the institution is not interested to join in the crypto market. I guess that's just another FOMO. We need longterm FOMO to create another bubble again in the future. remember this the trading market is a speculation market and there is no problem to call it just like a bubble

I do not agree with this idea. Large players will influence market behavior too much, which can cause even greater instability. While there is no regulation, I would not want to see them here. In my opinion, it is better for market to rid of fraud and theft, this will allow more small players to trust the cryptocurrency as an investment instrument. After all, for this purpose it was created, as a tool for the whole people. Otherwise, the market of cryptocurrencies will be indistinguishable from the usual stock market.

Yes we need that to happen but in order for that we also need government regulation. Fact is larger banks (Retail) and institutions (pension funds/ endowments etc) will not be allowed to make investments into such highly volatile markets. The main goal of these institutions is wealth protection rather than high returns(which is way they most often invest in bonds). Investment banks might enter but they wuill be there to speculate not because they wont to hold bitcoin ether for the long term.

In my opinion if you expect another wave like december to happen than you would need massive retail investment. This of course will not happen for another 2-3 years or so. Retail investors will need some time to forget about all the money they burned/lost by fomoing during the december all time highs.

I dont necessarily agree with the need for large institutions but i do agree that crypto needs more volume because it is through adoption that crypto will gain more traction and value. Once people start using crypto regularly to pay for their bills, taxes, or whatever needs, it is then that we would have changed the world for the better.

Yep. You are correct. Currently only few countries have adopted Bitcoin for transaction like currency and most countries are yet to adopt and if more and more countries adopt Bitcoin as currency then there is no need to market for investment and everything will be acquired as expected by this alone. Major countries like USA, China and India which has more population is the key for this.

I don't know how else crypto would grow and it seems to me like we will surpass that 1 trillion mark this year. However, I also believe that the big players are waiting for more regulations because I doubt they want to get involved with exchanges that aren't regulated. For the average joe it is acceptable, but for an institutional or accredited investor I feel like regulation would go a long way in making them invest more.

Yes i did, Because money flow can help crypto to put more daily trade volume in the market. More volume means there will be more demand and interest to buy more and more crypto as much as they can and that will be result in big bullish trend.
I share your point of view, because more volume of trade can be interpreted as a measure of the endorsement and faith in a coin. It goes to show how liquid a coin have probably become and until a coin is liquid enough, it hold little or no attraction for institutional traders because the market could hardly fill their orders. So we can conclude that the entrance of institutional money into cryptocurreny is a welcome development, though there're set backs also.
Entrance of money which we dont even know on what would be the sources either on institutional money or just purely basing on investments of certain investors or traders but well as long theres a big volume no matter which they do came from as long we can able to ride on the waves then it would really be just fine.Continue growing is already happening but it doesnt necessarily to have large volume.

Well they are one factor in adding some money on the market but as like any other things too, they don't play a huge role on the Bitcoin growth since all factors are needed to make a progress, like government regulation, media influence, stability of bitcoin network, the bitcoin demand and supply,  wider mainstream acceptance,  large business dumping to Fiat currency, and many more.

Institutional money means more manipulation.

Dou you want an extremely manipulated market like in the stock one? In that case only real PROs would earn something.

Better keep it amateur.

but, this will make a better price with the higher volume
so, i think if the institutional money coming to crypto, thats will be a good news and this will bring a new way of legalizations of cryptocurrency

I think that we need volume and, accordingly, we need large investments. Then the market will revive, trade will enterto the active phase and coins prices will start to grow.

Increasing the volume of the market will increase it. However, the inflow of funds from large institutions may result in a greater possibility of price manipulation. The market can handle them without them.

Support is indeed needed. More investors have to pitch in.  Number of countries should increase to adapt crypto currencies. There should be more demand. A good news is,  every year number of people becoming aware of crypto coins is increasing and number of ICOs too.  Hope this ratio doubles up and increases the coins' values.

What we need is a miracle not the whales. Whether they enter or not, every single day there are new people that are studying and looking what is this technology and how could they benefit from it. So you might say your papa and mama are also interested in this kind of investment, and you might warn them what my comes through.
Crypto is like a virus now, and we can't say when but sooner or later the millennial generation is taking our spot and they could make it better than we have now.

How is that in line with a miracle? You spoke of how adoption is already increasing each day and more and more research is being conducted in to blockchain technology. It seems we just need a mere continuation of the path we are on instead of a miraculous change.

Volume is certainly more important to me than market cap, and is always overlooked when people promote coins. I look at most of the shillings of new coins and they have volumes that are even less than my daily wagerings sometimes on a Bitcoin casino.

That said, it is not necessary for crypto to continue growing, not in my opinion. It is all down to usefulness. Imagine, for example, that is Lightning Network happens with Bitcoin, then so much transactions would move off chain. That would not contribute to volume, but does not mean it is not being exchanged.

Not exactly, crypto has already a large volume. Before the ICO was released, developers has already a target value. Having a large volume will only make the value much lowers because the demands does not meet the needs of the coins. It is better this way, volume needs to be limited to easily maintain.

You are thinking of the supply of the coin and not the value, the price of a coin is limited ultimately by its circulating supply but not by the volume.  Increased volume will in theory lead to a price increase although it could be the opposite or neither.

because you are forgetting a couple of important matters.
for example the "big players" have not gone anywhere. they are still in the market and are making a lot of money from their pumps. but the thing is they are pumping coins and you are missing them because you only keep your eye on some top shitcoins!

the other thing you are missing is the fact that these "big players" are not interested in any of these altcoins. they and all the rest of the investors are only interested in making more money. if you want the cryptocurrency market to grow real big then you should ask for better altcoins instead of shitcoins that are only for pump and dump purposes.

Yes i totally agree with the thread poster that bigger volume is compulsory for the growth of the crypto markets, infact it is compulsory for all the markets to grow.

with the emergence of information that has a negative impact on cryptocurrency it is necessary institutional money from investors to revive the passionate cryptocurrency market, it requires the role of many sectors, I think it is difficult, but not impossible, I hope it will happen in the future

Did you agree that In order for cryptocurrencies to start growing again, institutional money need to enter the market making the prices soar - That may will cause an  increase in volume, making the big players re-enter the market followed by the new wave of adopters. Wink

They do not need them to start growing again but it would definitely make a big difference. At some point down the line the growth from just small individual users will not be enough and the only way to really continue growing at the same rate as previously would be to have that money flow in to the market. I think that things are being set up for that to happen. It's a long way off but with regulation being put in to place I see a big run in the coming years.

I do not expect that, crypto should be free of anything. If you let a whale go to your lake, then when he is hungry it will eat all the inhabitants of the lake and maybe the owner of his lake could be the victim. It was a short story that happened last year and I do not want an accident to happen again in the next year.

Not exactly like that, you probably want a rise like the one happened in 2017 Q2-3, it will not happen but market will grow without creating a bubble

If you need to see the market grow in a fast pace then you will need the institutional investors money. We experienced this scenario last year when bitcoin reached almost 20,000 USD.

In long term, we don't need institutional investors money. bitcoin price will soar even without them. This is because more and more people will engage on crypto currency and block chain technology on where bitcoin is the father of all.

Institutional money means more manipulation.

Dou you want an extremely manipulated market like in the stock one? In that case only real PROs would earn something.

Better keep it amateur.

I do think that crypto will eventually need large institutions and governments for widespread adoption. I say we're still probably at least five years away from these kind of things happening though.
