Yes you are right, few people are not using their 'merit' points in proper way.

Satoshi's real Bitcointalk profile is https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/satoshi-3 you can see the last active time (13 December 2010, 21:45:41)
Actually giving merits to Satoshi is just like sending personal message to someone on facebook who is either dead or not logged into his/her account since very long time.
I am agree. I also do not understand why some people make from Satoshi's profile here on the forum such a big thing. It is inactive for years and who know will it ever be, maybe if everything will go bad to bitcoin and Satoshi will log in to show people that he exists and give them a new wave of hope. Well, users have all rights to decide what to do with their own merits themselves and I have nothing against that, but in the case of Satoshi it is just a little bet strange.

Goodbye, Z.
In my opinion this is not the right use of Smerit points. It should be given to quality posts by lower rank members as they need it more.
I was considering you for some, but I dont think any of your posts deserve merit.
Ping me once you've written a post that does (one time chance) and I will make sure of "the right use".

Ironically, it's more likely the next person to log into that account will be a hijacker (as we've seen with satoshi's other accounts) rather than satoshi him/herself. That said, it's definitely a nice gesture.

Few people in Bitcointalk community are giving away part of their Merit Points to Satoshi Nakamoto (https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/satoshi-3)
When I first check, merit points were 434 .... now check by yourself after going to Satoshi's profile.

It feels me little bit laugh Smiley
