I think of it as a Public Service Announcement: All noobs/newbies/whatnot please read this and understand that any mining equipment you buy will result in the loss of your bitcoins.

This should at the top of the subforum and in BOLD letters.

Wink to see how it can be 'all over the place' http://allchains.info/ is calculating -1% right now! (with 15 new blocks)

With enough samples now, it is showing a reasonable number now (19.88%)  Wink

yup, as we may well have expected... however... 5billion... it'll get there eventually! brace yourselves!

That happens when next diff estimate is recalculated anew right after last diff change - with only a few samples (new blocks) next estimate can be all over the place.

That happens when next diff estimate is recalculated anew right after last diff change - with only a few samples (new blocks) next estimate can be all over the place.

you'll get diff estimates everywhere you look.  5 bil wouldn't surprised me in the least though.
