some say meet up and others conference and summit

what is the difference?

would the meet ups just be more less between local people who like crypto to just talk? and others are big companies doing promotion etc?
Conference is talking or discuss about something with others via mobile, computers, laptop or others device from one place to another. Conference is two type. Video conference and audio conference. Now a days e everyone is used video conference for meeting. On the other hand meetup is live. Face to face talk about some projects or something with others. For this pandemic everyone avoid meet up and use conference.

I think that the differences between these words are small and they express the same thing with some differences. It can be said in general:
Meeting is a general definition that includes any meeting and does not require a place.
The conference is, in big events, the subject of public opinion talk and gets an appropriate amount of attention.
Summit meeting: is an international meeting of heads of institutions or companies usually with a large amount of media and a pre-arranged agenda.

There is a distinction between the two. Both can topped off by local people and worldwide members simultaneously. The main genuine contrast is that gatherings are generally lead by speakers who present thoughts base on the subjects to be talk about. These speakers are master in the fields. While meetups looks like round table that every part can contribute in the conversations installed.

With regards to the above mentioned topic I can say yes there are differences between meetups and conferences or submits
Hence while meetups and conferences can both be attended by international and local residents, it should be noted that the major difference between meetups and conferences is that meetups are mostly congregation of people sharing common idea while conferences are mostly gathering where people come to acquire new knowledge
Hence it is more of lecture than discussion.

You are welcome to visit CryptoEvents.global

The main page is a directory for the upcoming conferences, but if you navigate trough the top menu, you'll find meetups as well.

In today's circumstances, many of them have switched online, doing sort of webinars.

The conference is something bigger, there are more speakers, partners and the number of participants. Meetup is an online service used to create groups that host local in-person events, as Wikipedia says. Recently, I was one of the organizers of the conference. It was a great conference, and I can say that we've had great success with it.  Our participants and guests wrote good reviews to us. So, I should think about organizing the next conference. By the way, we used this exhibition equipment company for our event in London. This is a reliable company that won't let you down. And if you are looking for quality equipment for your event, you can trust them.

Actually a meetup I attended last Friday held in a spacious hall, and
it showed several coins' pros and cons with a BTC trend analysis.

In some conference, they only announced their strengths in this
field and their common message was 'I can provide right ICOs, so
you only transfer your BTC to me right now'.

The difference I think, are
1. the attitude of hosts
2. the expectation of participants

If hosts use a meetup, then they like a specific discussion than
a general round table forum with experts, and participants also
expect more intimate situation than a formal one.

And conference would be ...  you can guess.  Smiley

Most of the meetups are really much more informal. Conferences have mostly better organized structure with lots of people included in the process. According to my experience, conferences in comparison to meetups usually include these important parts:

1. Large open sessions in halls and
2. Small meeting rooms for private discussions
3. Technical help during the conference
4. Host, sponsors and organizers presentations
5. Rooms have to be equipped with sound and projection facilities
6. Bigger budget fund to maintain financial risk, organizational issues and retention of profits for special members
7. A website with several social media accounts connected
8. A strong and expensive marketing campaign with (sometimes) sales departments involved in process of sale and lead generation

Host, sponsors and organizers presentations

So, i wonder who is sponsor for meetup

There is a difference between the two. Both can filled up by locals and international participants at the same time. The only real difference is that conferences are mostly lead by speakers who present ideas base on the topics to be discuss. These speakers are expert in the fields. While meetups looks like round table that each member can contribute in the discussions onboard.
Meetup can also be an event which is not that formal. It doesn't necessarily need to include round table and organized discussion but it can be more like chatting in a restaurant or pub. I know that some blockchain associations organize Bitcoin Pizza Day meetup in memory of Laszlo Hanyecz who bought two pizzas for 10k bitcoins.

I have been to a lot of meet up and not conferences. The events tend to be locals with the conference I guess it will have more speakers and a diverse group based on what I have watched on youtube looking forward to going for a live crypto event. Yes there will be companies promoting stuff
