Hardly, thank you for your insight into the 2 cards.  Did you scan those 2 PCBs yourself from the pictures?

FYI if anyone is wondering...
I got the larger box from Newegg and the smaller box from NCIXUS.
I haven't set up the smaller box card yet, but I can report back later on overclockability vs newegg stock

The smaller box has a different PCB from the bigger box. The card in the smaller box appears to have more/better VRMs which should allow for cleaner power and better overclocking.

Cool, hope those I ordered yesterday are those.

Look at the gpu and memory clocks. If they're the same, then I'd say they'd have the same hashing potential. There's usually stats on the side of boxes.

Pci 2.0 vs 2.1 shouldn't effect hashing rates, but is one more overclockable than the other?

maybe the proof is in the picture, pcie 2.0 on one and 2.1 on other
one is black version, other is not

Can anyone shed some light on the 2 different kinds of packaging for the Sapphire 5830s?  They come in 2 different sizes.  Does anyone know the difference?  Is 1 more overclockable than the other?  Why the difference in packaging for the same product?  Did the earlier releases come in the smaller box?

Any ideas?
