No wonder, so they control much more than that. That could possibly have been the reason why there was a dump and huge dump some few months back. If this is what is happening, what do we expect would happen again later on in future. Will there be more dump after another pump again?
I can reason from your perspective that the company still hold as much as that, but not making it available are making use of it for their own advantage. If that is the case, where then are we heading to?

Ripple is also referred to the technology that XRP is using. and XRP is the token or coin that is using this technology!

also i have to mention that i believe you are using 60% only because the current released supply of ripple is about 40 billion out of 100 billion (40% released and 60% remaining) but you are mistaken about saying they control that 60% they in fact control a lot more because they didn't give away those 40 billion, they just made them available. dumped some on top of each pump to become richer. who knows how much they are controlling now!

Many times, people have confused crytoccurrency XRP with the company that created it, Ripple Labs. The two are quite although, they have things in common.
Ripple Labs owns 60% of all XRP in circulation but insists the currency is independent.

Ripple uses XRP in one of its products but says investors shouldn't use the cryptocurrency as a proxy for the entire business.
