Its that cluster that came online a few days ago. The owner's a smart cookie...seems to know what he's got.

GPU mining is sooo 2010 lol.

No different from when Bank of America or Barclays realizes what they can do with their trading beds.

I hope there's a problem with the stats at Bitcoincharts.com --

Seriously, what in the heck just came online? We went from 5 Thash/s last night, to 7.760 Thash/s this morning!

We're finding 11.29 blocks/hour -- WITH this morning's new difficulty increase.
Remember, Bitcoin wants to find SIX blocks per hour, and keeps adjusting difficulty (making it harder to mine bitcoins) until that goal is reached.

I thought FOR SURE that for a while at least, I'd see a rate close to 6.0 blocks per hour. Isn't that the point of the difficulty increase?

But no -- some government, supercomputer, FPGA array came online or thousands of people got their NewEgg shipments this morning!

The next difficulty setting with HALVE how many Bitcoins you find. This is getting ridiculous.

Mostake: Charts calcualtes averages. Most of the average livesi n the old complexity. It takes a day for them to "get out of the system".

no other way, because4 it all is based on block speed which is effectively random. One block or two say nothing. So the charts take an average, and when complexity changes... the average naturally is off.
