As for this issue, as long as the Poloniex exchange can achieve legal compliance, avoid investor losses, and pressure from the government, it still has room for survival.

Poloniex hasn't avoided investor losses though, has it?

See

https://www.coindesk.com/margin-lenders-lost-13-5-million-in-may-to-poloniex-crypto-crash

It's a dodgy exchange, and people should avoid it like the plague. The signs are exactly as in previous failed exchanges.

So what? Politics is politics. Roger Ver blacklisted bitcoin, then brought it back. So did Bobby Lee, now he regrets Segwit2x. CW says he is satoshi but can't even pay up his settlement because obviously he can't control the bitcoins belonging to satoshi.

All of these things are political and mean nothing to most of us who remember crypto is a decentralized thing.

Here Here.

That is massively discouraging news for huge dgb community and fans, i was in digibyte's telegram channel till an year ago and it was really active and dgb do have a really supporting community and most of them were not only hodlers but true believers in the project, with this news i think there will be some panic in the community and it can take some time to settle.

Jared Tate should stop if he cared for his community. He is only creating more danger on the value of his coin and the value of the money of the investors held on Digibyte.

Are you for real? Now it's Tate's fault that he wasn't afraid to call out this massive shilling by Poloniex and got banned for it?
I know that it's a hard choice whenever you have to step up and make a statement because the first one to speak always gets treated like shit, but it's the right thing to do.
Poloniex is acting like a bully delisting DB. It's in a way similar to what Binance did to BSV, but BSV was attacking BTC and CSW was lying about being Satoshi. This case is more of a you call us out we kick your ass kind of thing.

Yes, however, I did not say that it was Jared Tate's fault. But he should be careful with his words. There is a community of Digibyte holders that depend on him. He should put that into consideration also.

oh well , too many pros and contra .
who can be trusted , who cant be trusted , it depend on your mind.
the only thing what i got here is , crypto world is no more than drama .

I often get delisted notifications via email from Poloniex, not only DGB is removed from the exchange, there are many altcoins deleted from the exchange, at least they told me to withdraw the coins to be deleted, they have the right to delete the coins that are in their exchange, it's likely that many traders have begun to abandon their exchanges.

as far i know , poloniex has leaving the CIRCLE , and they seems like reborn, and they also will have a new name, Polo Digital Assets, Ltd.
and i am sure for that reason , polo delist all coin of they think "not qualified"

DigiByte is close to dead anyway, the coin has practically no meaningful trade volume and is purely a speculative asset at this point. The founder has done a pretty shit job of making it a true competitor to Bitcoin.

Hopefully other major cryptocurrency exchanges follow suit, the fewer shitcoins we have floating around, the more focus the actually useful projects can received.

Right now there's too many shitcoins sucking up the attention and capital, pay them no attention and they'll soon go away.

Digitbyte is on top 56th, that should be worth with more than $1M volume a day that's a good volume to collect. Polo is just not the right exchange to trade though and so i guess polo is doomed to failed. Polo is under new management and they are trying to make it work. I was in the telegram chat where the kids are discussing about polo, the new management Justine sun might be looking to make TRX as trading fee in polo just like being BNB in binance. there isn't an official link about it.

Still its not right to delist DGB all because Justine hate the CEO.

Even though they delisted DGB, whois care about that?
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digibyte/

You can other people still can trade DGB on many other exchange beside Poloniex. Being delisted in a exchange doesn't make the token become unuseful or dead. Same like reddcoin before, which get delisted from poloniex but still can trade that on other exchange with higher value than before

thats what i also think about . i dont heard any good news regarding on this coin so i suspect that the coin is slowly dying now so polo delist it already  . many new new coins now are making a hype more than old coins like digi so i think the attention is going towards them  . exchnage owner are giving a a way or a space to list them but they can only do it if they remove other coins  .  anyway , polo is not  also popular anyway , so i think its okay of what coins they want to run  .  people wont care much anyway

I don't agree.

DGB is an altcoin (some may even call it a shitcoin though I am not sure about this one) but poloniex has been a shit exchange which nobody really uses for a long time. In this case, DGB which is an altcoin is actually bigger than poloniex which is a shit exchange. So? DGB don't really need poloniex but polo needs DGB.
I doubt on this matter!

As long politics is tied up they wouldnt care or they would really be final into their decision no matter what it cost into their part either missing big potential profits with DGB or any other means.
We know that poloniex is one of the most popular exchangers wayback when it isnt still bought by Circle and they become shittier as years goes by.They do shows off on how immature they are by
delisting one project just because of criticism. They are way too obvious!

I just cant believe they delisted DGB just because of their relationship with TRON. Also I am not aware of the news earlier. So needs to dig into that to understand the reason for delisting further.

They did it right after that "buy TRON" tweet by poloniex. They were paid to promote TRON on their platform and are removing competition to make more money.
TRON is centralized which makes it a very risky copin to buy but if poloniex is doing so much to promote it some people will buy for sure and make Sun even richer.

If I were you I'd get out of POLO asap. This is some really bad manipulation by them.

It honestly doesn't surprise me. Digibyte is super fast and convenient, but despite all the shill attempts on social networks (mostly bot activity from the looks), there has not been much actual interest in the project.

Overall, an exchange is free to delist coins at will, and the more low level altcoins you hold in your portfolio, the more delisting risk you are exposed to. I would carefully decide what to hold and what to sell, just to reduce that risk.

snip..
this is very surprising.. the end of this problem was Delisting!!  we must be neutral in responding to this problem, I do not justify the decision taken by Poloneix, nor does it justify the criticism expressed by CEO DigiByte.  I think this problem does not make Digibyte lose the market, the circulation of DGB on Poloneix is very small, so there is no fatal impact on DGB https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digibyte/markets/

Crypto politics! I don't need to be a whale or an expert to tell that the cryptocurrency market is dominated  by decisions of the cryptocurrency power brokers which played out in the fight between Craig Wright and Chanpeng Zhao which saw many big names and players in crypto take sides. Digibyte should have known that the best way to get by for most rich people is to join the band wagon if they can't beat them
It's not about the politic and look at the news dude. tate is even commenting about polo with very bad attitude on his post. That's a good thing to see he create a critism post about the collusion between tron and polo but we must know about the fact that when we are still need the exchange site to get the liquidity and we can do that in a better way just like create a sarcasm critism about that.
It should have not ended like this, DigiByte do not deserve such delisting since it has a lot of people in the community but the founder,Tate,  does. He can't be rude if he finds something wrong or someone committed a mistake, he should have not focus on offense.
It seems like that Tate is too offensive towards the said founders and exchange with all of his comments taking too much of the competition risen in crypto space. He should have not belittled the Poloniex knowing it's an old and underrated exchange. Maybe it would look childish thing for poloniex but I think it is the right thing to do.

Indeed a bad news for DigiByte. DigiByte to digiBYE.

There's a reason why Poloniex is a failing exchange and among one of the worst deals (circle's acquisition) in crypto's history.
Circle is full of mindless and clueless idiots. After all, why do you think the CEO has finally stepped down?

There CEO was complaining on Twitter the other day about getting press coverage. There's a reason no one covers DGB, that's because their entire premise for marketing, adoption and growth is stifled and halted. It's possible they don't have the capital, it's also possible that they lack any real talent to continue to drive their crypto forward.

In summary DGB is a shitcoin and CEO is complaining all over the place, usually indicates internal struggles and desperation.

They themselves are to blame, is it not silly to put in such a light a coin that belongs to the owner of the exchange, or rather his company. It's all just like in a proverb, don’t spit in the well, you need to get drunk yourself, so the guys just crossed the road for the wrong people, all the coins that are on poloniex are already half dead altcoins, I think that all owners of these projects should be quiet and calm , because if they start talking badly about trx then their coin will be dead.

Well they have their own reasons but this isn't going to help any of them, traders knew poloneix isn't as good as they were since the new exchanges like binance come out. This will not help polo gain users if Sun act this way to his critics.

Bad of good publicity still is publicity doesn't work in crypto since reputation is at stake here. The internet is a small world for someone who is followed by thousands.

Things like this will make the crypto world more mature in the future.
If I look at it from the source, the words of Tate are so bad that poloniex looks for their mistakes and delisted them.
Maybe Tate's words have a point, but by delivering them in a tweet and being read by the public, I don't think it's a good method. This is like spit out the mistakes of others without discussing personally first. So that is the risk of DGB to be registered.
Well, every action have a consequence but straight up delisting a coin because of some hurtful words isn't a wise decision either not that I'm really fond of this digibyte anyway but still feels kinda odd to see politic in crypto market but who am I to judge poloniex is owned by those people and any side effect of delisting Digi is their responsible although I don't think it has significant effect to the exchange anyway. But, I see that Digibyte have rather higher trading volume in other exchange so this is probably will not affect that much.

DigiByte have been in polo for how long now then suddenly the polo guys realize Digi did not meet the criteria to be listed in that exchange! What an irony, between polo use to be an exchange that matters, not anymore, taking decision base on personal issues don't  display integrity,
Who knows this may turn out to be "good riddance to bad rubbish" i hope digi won't  be too affected by all this drama.

Very ironic, we know that DigiByte is one of the top altcoins which is currently ranked 56 in cmc. But suddenly DigiByte delisted from poloniex, even though DigiByte has a daily trading volume of up to 1 million dollars and unfortunately one of the highest trading volumes of DigiByte is in poloniex. I hope that DigiByte can be listed on the new exchange soon.

I bet their number of users are declining I will not be shocked if this exchange will vanish or rebrand from 3 to 5 years but its just my wild prediction because its becoming unpopular nowadays. What Fedo said. Wink

Poloniex is a dumpster fire.

They delisted Pascal which was basically their baby their flagship.

The DGB action just underlines the fact that they are both clueless and crooked.

The Circle ownership spent $400millions buying it then destroyed a top tier US based exchange.

I wonder how much cash TRX "paid off" for the exclusive partnership or total ownership.
"Sun has confirmed that he was part of the investor group involved in acquiring Poloniex from Circle."

"#blockchain tech be hijacked by a bunch of crooks like @justinsuntron and @cz_binance. Time has come."
"#TRON runs on a grand total of 27 "Super Representative" nodes mostly controlled by Sun and the Tron Foundation using DPoS. In fact it's so centralized the former Tron CTO Lucien Chen quit because he said the network had become excessively centralized."

DigiByte delisted from Poloniex!!!

When original Poloniex owners starting losing interest in crypto in 2017 slowly Poloniex went down. They were getting more and more customers but did not employ and educate new employees. They got bad owner in Circle. They employed more people but and did some updates, but that was far from enough. Luckily Justin Sun come around with bad of USD and perfect deal for Circle was made. I dont expect much from Poloniex in future. I just hope that they will not lose history of my deposits and withdrawals, so I will be able to rely on them when communicating with tax offices. But since I am sceptical I already exported all datas out. LOL.  Poloniex is an example how an exchange can go from top to bottom in two years.

United States-based digital assets exchange, Poloniex, has delisted the payments-focused cryptocurrency, DigiByte. The cryptocurrency community and those within the industry seem to think that the delisting is a consequence of a string of criticisms made by DigiByte founder, Jared Tate, aimed at TRON founder and CEO Justin Sun.

United States-based digital assets exchange, Poloniex, which allegedly has close ties to the TRON project, has delisted the DigiByte token. This decision was made following several tweets by DigiByte founder Jared Tate criticizing the exchange, TRON founder and CEO Justin Sun, and Binance co-founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao. On Dec 3, Tate called Sun and Zhao ‘crooks’ who were operating on borrowed time.

Source link here

For just criticizing their exchange, Poloniex has laid down the axe on DigiByte. I'm not a DigiByte #HODLer or supporter, but I'm just disappointed of Poloniex for being unprofessional nitwits!!!

Of course, everybody including DigiByte are entitled to their opinions. Because they just can't take being criticized lightly, a ban has been made. Poloniex was such an immature kind of exchange.

Whoever in Poloniex supported that decision, they're just spoiled little brats who cannot seem to handle this very well. They were not trained to be matured when they were criticized by someone.

How about Poloniex getting banned from CoinMarketCap for life in return, huh?

This is very surprising and not good for the community, they have shown that they are very insensitive to the traders' needs and the whole industry, the people on Digibyte I'm sure paid a big sum to get in if so then they better refund Digibyte, now there is an ax to fall on every coin there.

This should be a warning for holders of digiByte to immediately carry out the best strategy to protect their assets. This makes it even more uncomfortable when the market conditions are not conducive. We as small players can only see the game of the big people above, whether this becomes a kind of political game or not, I also don't really understand the twit war which is said to cause this delist, I'm not too interested. It's just that I sympathize.

That's a centralized exchange for ya!. They can literally do what they can and get over with it. But, are they still relevant these days though? They are already beaten by another more popular exchange and doing this will further sink their reputation although I'm not a fan of DigiByte but I do agree that this kind of behaviour is just stupid because they are against criticism which actually can be used to motivate them to improve.

Well very surprising indeed, it seems strange if Poloniex chooses love towards the project. Criticism and advice are necessary for the cryptocurrency for the future better.
Instead, choose a way to delist a coin just because of criticism to someone and not to be addressed to them (POLONIEX). Hopefully increasingly advanced Digibyte projects without POLONIEX.

That's a good thing to see he create a critism post about the collusion between tron and polo but we must know about the fact that when we are still need the exchange site to get the liquidity and we can do that in a better way just like create a sarcasm critism about that.
It seems like that tate is too offense with all of his comments.

That is massively discouraging news for huge dgb community and fans, i was in digibyte's telegram channel till an year ago and it was really active and dgb do have a really supporting community and most of them were not only hodlers but true believers in the project, with this news i think there will be some panic in the community and it can take some time to settle.
