Mr. Sebastian Moonjava, the writer of the  ”The Iconomi Burn — Crypto Buybacks” just mentioned above, carried out a wonderful job describing the new decision of ICONOMI.

As a matter of fact, there is another digital asset known as OBITS from the Bitshares platform that works the same way (burn-crypto buybacks), which means OBITS are also bought back and burned, thus reducing overall supply, allowing a natural growth in value of remaining OBITS over time.

The difference between ICN and OBITS is that at some point the burn-crypto buybacks are over for OBITS; thereafter, OBITS holders will receive only dividends from the openledger ecosystem, in native BTC tokens and Bitshares tokens (BTS).

In this regard, OBITS later on will receive similar treatment as the new Waves Community Tokens (WCT) which gives you also dividends in BTC tokens to WCT holders from the waves platform.

It was announced few weeks ago that ICN will not be paying out dividends — Iconomi has decided to opt for a more efficient (and likely a more regulatorily favorable) value disbursement method. Iconomi will be purchasing ICN tokens for the buyback from the open market. The ICN tokens that are bought by Iconomi will be burned (meaning: destroyed by a smart contract) thus decreasing the total supply of ICN tokens in existence. This will not be a one time burn/buyback, it will be continuous.

But when the buy back their coins and burn them -> total supply will decrease -> less coins -> higher price??

I don't know but it smells fishy

Other than that, talk is cheap, until they actually start buying back their "tokens" there is not much to talk about yet. I'm never interested in projects like this, but did they tell when they were actually going to start the buybacks, at which price exactly and in what amounts? I think everyone should understand that it is specifics that matter in such and similar cases (buying back at something like 1 satoshi is meaningless and looks more like an outright scam). Just be warned and think twice before putting your money anywhere. Let's return to this thread in a year

The Iconomi team has been working diligently to bring the first digital asset management platform to the world. The new era of development often comes with new hurdles, especially if the concept is an original… from which all others will be derived

They must be kidding

I believe that It will be a very successful project, once the platform launch In a few weeks/months (ICNX) people shouldn't feel the need on investing in altcoins directly anymore, instead, simply buy ICNX and sit and sell when they feel like they made enough profit.

stepped a digital money is so hard, maybe we included the first generation in the calculation period of 10 years, and I believe the future of digital money is used as a means of transaction and shift some fiat currency, but it still has a very long demands. there is no good scientific work to discuss the cryptocurency and yet have scientific books as well, if there is a professor who has written books and scientific papers then cryptocurency will be made public, and once it is realized in such a way. when we see iconomi and some assets of the dividend is a long-term investment similar to an investment property.

Digital Asset Management Platforms: Would you invest in ICONOMI?

Besides the projects ICONOMI and Melonport, there are several other projects that are working on future products and platforms for digital assets management such as: Equibit, Coindash, i2 and Etherplan. However, the only project starting soon is ICONOMI. It is noted that this project includes the Iconomi Open Fund Management (OFM) platform. In the Iconomi OFM, users can choose between two investment types with different risk and profit levels, Coin Traded Funds (CTFs) and Coin Managed Funds (CMFs).

Iconomi (ICN) tokens allow users to vote regarding the platform's development and they pay out dividends from the profits generated by the Iconomi OFM platform.

Would you invest in ICONOMI? Do you think this is good for the popularization of digital currencies?

The project seems good and the most interesting part was that you will get dividens from the profits generated by the Iconomi. But how much dividend will be given to the investor, that is the question. I am somehow interested but I would like to research more about the development on their system rather than jumping in without thinking it through and wasting my time. It is promising yet I will only invest after I am clear about how their new system works.
