honestly this system is very nice !! I like this, it helps me to get better. you need to know, indeed for people who are easily desperate this is ridiculous. but, according to people who like to risk this is a challenge to achieve success!  Tongue

I appreciate merit system which really helps good posting. But many of my friends said that due to this merit system the got stuck in a fixed rank that is they had no merit though their posts are good. Not only that I think many new members have to wait for almost 3 month for becoming member. What you people think about the bad side of merit system?

you do realise what a total waste of time this post is don't you?

use the fucking search button and please stop posting shit

It sounds as if the Merit system is working.

I have seen Jr Members who became members by gaining 10 merits in a week after the merit system was introduced. There was a guy who is going to reach 100 merit points soon. So, there are new members who are doing well even after the new merit system. If your friends are here for signature campaigns, they will not be able to compete with such profiles as participants anyway.

Keeping the kind of thought, then you will no longer get merits. Take it easy. Simply improve your posts' quality, help other to solve issues, be as helpful as possible, then merits will come (just sometimes). Don't pay attention on whether you will get merits for each post or not. It will distract you from writing high quality threads.

These merit threads are just flooding in Meta. Go and check the off topic section, shitposting guys are flooding in day by day and they are just trying to post only for ranking up and not for learning anything new here. I can't just figure out why this forum is still having those "Off-Topic" threads. Merit is a very good implementation for making this forum quality like how it was before for helping each others for technical questions, crypto news. If you are good enough you will receive merit else just stay in this same position forever.
I think for ranking up from newbie to Jr.member they should include at least 5 merits.
Hope theymos will add this rule that minimum merit required for ranking up from newbie to Jr is 5 and remove the off-topic section from this forum.

I think people are making redundant posts about merit hoping to gain merit.

Hasn't this been discussed enough?  Do we really need yet another thread?
"Redundant post" actually describe what is the problem. Again, the post is to be evaluated by someone else. So I tell people just improve on your post quality as it relates to the thread discussion and someone will like and appreciate it.

Another reason I see is that a whole of persons have not fully understood the merit system. Therefore they just think a certain person is holding back from scoring them merit for their post.

It is much discussed and every user could have got the better understanding about the new merit system. As in the statement in the past meta section won't get such a traffic, once after the new merit system this section has got increased attention with the expectation to get merit. This is completely a wrong thinking and I too don't think there is no need for an additional thread anymore related to merit system.
