Some may say that someone's success isn't planned and could have added with some luck. While I believe that it's true, there's a reason why someone has became successful except from winning a lottery. Because people that have gone through shortcut like that might struggle on how they're going to keep their wealth compared to the ones that have gone through the process from bottom to top.

As you've discover your true potential and you're able to make some habits that are consistently done by you with the purpose of becoming successful, you should give credit to yourself for working that hard. Together with it are the factors that OP has mentioned like discipline which is very important to have it to yourself. Because if you don't have it then you're like going to the war without being careful and disciplined.

And as for the #4, doing all of your best. You might not be recognized too quickly if you've been exerting your best effort. As long as you're truthful to yourself and you're doing everything you can and the best that you can, someday you'll be rewarded and you'll get to notice on how you're exerting your effort to the best that you can and you'll earn that because not everyone exerts their best to their jobs or anything that they are committed to.

Talking about potentials , I will say most persons didn't really discover the potentials in them maybe because they didn't have the platform To do so, or maybe they didn't have a proper coaching or guidance, I will say discovering a potential goes down to a parent,  I heard a secondary school student complaining that the parents wants her to study medicine against her will of studying law,  in this case the students mind is already poisoned because her parents is forcing their will on her , then most persons discover there potentials as a kid, mast persons as a teenager, most as a youth or adult, no time is too late to discover your potential,  it is ONLY too late In the grave .

Your third point is one of the things that people look down on. The people who we spend time with, the company we keep has a lot to do with who we become.  You can’t hang around someone who is a billionaire without seeing positive impacts in your self. Not because they would give you money but because you’ll subconsciously learn how they think and start to think like them. And remember, the money comes to those who know how to think smart. Once you start thinking like them, everything starts aligning just like it is going for them.

That is honestly such an inspiring and motivating statement.

Lots of people have potential maybe even all of us. The moment we were born, we all had the potential to be something. But not all of us make something out of that potential. And those who act on it is what makes them unique: their ability to turn that potential into a reality. Nothing will happen if you don’t make your dreams come true. Your potential will just deteriorate as time goes by so do not let a second go.

We need to always seek for information because this is one of the ways we can improve our potential since no one is an island.
We need to have the time to rapport with people and hear from them so that we can likewise learn from them and try our best to make our ways right doing things in a way that would bring opportunity to us. Information is what we need to seek for that would improve our knowledge and make us dance well to opportunities that would change our life.

Ability to create opportunities for yourself with good knowledge and skills it is possible to reach the top. The ability to organize oneself is a great quality. This includes your ability to accept decision making stress management time management. You have to decide which work to do first. Controlling your thinking and making good decisions is likely to pay off every time.

The drive to keep going. If that drive is always there then you'll never stop and as long as you don't stop, there's a chance to always go forward. There's no limit to what one can achieve.

When you've achieved a certain level and there's no more drive anymore you might stop and this can limit you. I've seen many people in different fields who just felt comfortable after they've gotten to a certain level when they had the potential to achieve more. It's not a bad thing though, but I'm just pointing out who desires and drives pushes us.

When you want something and you reach for it, without allowing anything to stop you, you'll most likely get it if you do it right. I believe the world is easier today than it was 50-100 years ago. The internet has made things very easy. I can get a degree today without ever stepping on a university campus. I can learn a skill without leaving my house.
The problem is people do not take advantage of the world today as much as they should. There are hundreds of ways to achieve our goals and we have to first start by learning. Invest that time and money into learning something. Be very good at it. Solve a problem, then you'll begin to make money from it, and never forget to keep learning. The moment you stop learning you stop growing.

Potentiality could be an inherited or an in-built possessions of ability to perform a great or a unique task hopefully productive or a particular result.
So discovering what your potential is can be a break through to either discover a new dream or keen points of achieving your goals.

Exhibiting your potentials with prides and treasures undertakes how valuable and materialistic you could be to the society and brings tangible returns to yourself.

While the inability to discover your potentials drives to your hindrance with a limited accountabilities towards your achievements.

It's true that reaching the top is easier than remaining on top, meaning that it's sustainance that matters, that is why it's important to follow the tips that is provided in the OP. It's said that the day you think that you've arrived and no need to go any further, that's the day you'll start going down, being at the top requires being innovative and you need to work harder to remain there or go higher, because human needs are insatiable. I don't know if anybody was born great, but I know that it's possible to achieve greatness.

Creating potential for yourself is as easy as it is difficult these days.  It is possible to generate potential potential for yourself even with minimal skills.  But this minimum skill is not seen among many people in present times.  If you have a basic understanding of computers and are proficient in any sector, you can get a job in any private company.  But many people don't even have that skill.  Again business requires sharp intelligence and money to invest.  Moreover, communication skills, sense of discipline, ethics etc. are required.

Op I don't dispute your analysis as they may be very helpful in achieving one potential, one thing I know about this potential is that it's always inborn, natural occurance just that most time that some loose it due to diversification of global changes.

Op I stand to be corrected based on your number 4 on the listed option I don't think best stand to be option at all time where first choice has failed you, don't you think close substitute can be the option.
Though some potential can not be achieved no matter the principle followed basically in our nation example you have potential to become a president on this country and your not financially solvent such potential is not achievable that is reason some abandoned their potential to learn others potential that is achievable.

It is a good thing for someone to discover his potential because in doing this, it will allow him to identify the purpose why he should make use of every potential with him in making impact on lives, if we are yet to discover one, then we should look around and within and see the things we are good at doing, in such we could build and develop a good potential from and help us discover more on opportunities that may comes in through the discovery.

To reach your full potential start by setting clear goals that align with your passions & values. Develop a growth mindset & embrace continuous learning and self improvement. Surround yourself with positive & supportive people who inspire/motivate you. Take calculated risks & step out of your comfort zone to challenge yourself. Practice self care & maintain a healthy work/life balance. Stay focused, determined & resilient in the face of obstacles. Believe in yourself, stay persistent & never stop striving for personal & professional growth.

Discipline is essential for retaining your abilities, staying dedicated to your goals, and being open to fresh opportunities and chances. Sometimes we become trapped in a situation, doing the same actions again and over. However, if we are prepared to venture outside of our familiar surroundings and attempt new things, we may unlock new possibilities inside ourselves. For example, if you are an excellent writer but have never considered publishing a book. Or maybe you're fantastic at sales but have never considered establishing your own firm. It's critical to discover your entire potential. So, instead of being discouraged by an obstacle, make use of it as an opportunity for improvement and keep moving forward.

I have heard so many religious preachers and motivational speakers come up with different strategies for discovering your potential. Potential are natural or inborn abilities that if put into good use will empower the person and the society. A potential should contribute positively to society and also assist the individual gain financial and other benefits.

The first thing one should do is to identify potential, develop it, and put it to good use. I believe that one can identify his potential by observing things you like doing easily. When you don't struggle to perform a task and you are always willing to do it even without rewards, that area might be where your potential lies.

When you are using your potential, your main focus shouldn't be to make money. This is because, if money doesn't comes you might become discouraged. Let your focus be to satisfy a need or solve a problem. If you meet needs and solve problems, money will naturally come to you. Conduct your research so that you will not rely on the advice of inexperienced friends and family.

Discovering potentials is one thing, achieving your potentials is another thing, been able remain on the said potentials when is been achieved is another thing because it determines hard work, dedication and discipline just as you mentioned above..

Lack of knowledge and understanding of what their potentials is all about, some people wish do things because others are doing it, they fail to ask themselves if what others are doing is what they really want..
We are different humans so our potentials might be different, to me I will advice, before trying to achieve a potential, make a decision and know the potentials you are pursuing...

Sometimes pride could possible makes one not to maintain their potentials, physically I have witnessed and seen them losing their dignities due to some certain prides and behavior around their field of profession and skills of work. To maintain some certain height you must learned to be very simple and strike otherwise having this mentality to be the overall would like make someone lose their core values, discovery is good but I think to maintain is where the problems lays because of human nature of being overruled by with they knows and have there in their offices always wanting to use it to influence others as to remain at the top.

The internet like you have said have opened alot of opportunity that someone can even easily change from one potential to another because I hear that someone can have different ability or capacity. You can develop more than one potential, someone who is always online can learn so many things from digital marketing to freelancing, blogging, affiliate marketing etc.

Nowadays it is easy to discover where you potential is.I am talking about a professional potential and if some persons want to change jobs they can do so very easily nowadays,they need basic computer skills and there are tons but tons of online courses like in Udemy and other platforms that can learn basically everything one may be looking for.If someone thinks he is good for marketing and digital marketing he can buy a couple of courses for less than 50 dollars in total and start learning,the same can be said for any other profession.

It all depends on the desire of one person to reach the objective he has pointed to himself,so discipline and persistence are the key things one should have today,the rest can be easily found on the internet as explained above.

Staying at the top of your potential can even be more difficult than reaching it. It is very competitive at the top for who will remain relevant there. It is not enough to reach your potential, you have to not settle when you reach it so that you do not begin to fall slowly even before you can realize it. To remain at the top, you need to be committed to development and growing in knowledge and skill. If you settle with the knowledge and skill that you have, it will not take long for you to become less relevant.

   Discovering one's potential is one thing and maintaining such potential to remain at the top is another thing. Note where there is a new level in one's life there is always a new devil so to be on a safer end while exhibiting the greatness in your potential to remain at the top always consider doing the following :

1. Discipline (discipline yourself on the  area of your excesses)
2. Maintain a conducive environment (try to find yourself in a  positive domain)
3. Always be with the right company, (because when wrong people come into your life wrong things happen)
4. Go for the best ( don't limit yourself with the usual things you know)
 
Remember when preparation and readiness meets with opportunity success is inevitable.
