Will you rather hold BTC instead of altcoins for years to come? If BTC is where the real money is why did Elon musk go after Doge instead of BTC? Past influencers and billionaires ignored BTC and hyped alt instead, what am I missing?.
If there is one thing I've learnt from my few years of interaction with crypto, is the fact that, cryptos can never make everyone go rich. This is because, the wealth accumulated by some user in a gainful investment, is that which is lost by some other user in some carelessly taken investments.

Being familiar with the terms Pump and Dump should be a way to understand what actually goes on in an altcoin investment. It creates that chance for a buy in the start of a pump and the early birds seems to gain the most, not excluding the team behind the project. You see the pump, see it for a coin with potentials and jump in huge. Then, the early birds take there profits and it starts to dump. The next step you know is, a complete liquidation of your asset. Some get rich while, others get poor and poorer. Sadly, thats the story of majority of the altcoins out there. My estimations puts it at 80-90%.

When it comes to bitcoin, the story is a lot different. Bitcoin is the only coin with some assurance on it out there. You've just got to be ready to hodl no matter what and for a long time.

this is not always true. they hype altcoins because they are much easier to manipulate and make a profit on them. be sure that most of their portfolio is in BTC, or even maybe some altcoins like ETH, they just don’t talk about it.
yes, it is very likely that altcoins can bring in much higher profits also the losses (and even the risk) are much greater.
in the end, you never know when he will give up one altcoin and move on to another. Just remember, Doge touched $0.7 from $0.05. will it ever return to that value?

I'm guessing he won't make enough money from BTC if he hyped it, BTC is not that easy to gamble with even if you are very rich, rich people like buying assets for cheap rate that's why they are the world strongest manipulators, when fear is in the air they use millions to gather the assets and wait.

1. BTC is the hardest coin to manipulate.
2. As for Elon Musk it's always about the money, remember that doge coin was very cheap and he got his for cheaper price.
3. Altcoins have higher chances of giving investors more profits over BTC.

History speaks for itself. If you look at the bitcoin charts and then compare that with altcoin-btc charts you can clearly see that bitcoin keeps on rising year by year while altcoins keep on dumping. For example ETH that people advertise so much as a "good" investment used to be 0.15BTC a couple of years ago and is currently 0.07BTC.

He didn't. He just used to temporarily to pump and dump and make a quick amount of profit.

Because it is so much easier to pump a shitcoin than it is to try and increase bitcoin price by a small amount. In other words someone like Musk could easily pump Doge for 1000% but he couldn't influence the solid bitcoin market to increase its price 10%. So the choice for "hype" or more precisely "market manipulation" for quick profit is obvious.

The key thing is alts are mostly dependent on BTC for there price fluctuation, when btc goes up alts go up and vice versa. So there is no point in investing all your money in alts. I keep most of my investment in btc like 70 to 80% and rest in alts.
Any alt price can go up once some big corportate announces that they are accepting it as payment method, Tesla starts accepting once-joke cryptocurrency Dogecoin

There is really no right answer to this as it will totally depend on your risk appetite, and which altcoin you're planning on holding in the first place. It's like asking between holding individual stocks vs just buying $SPY.

As for Elon Musk, you're definitely not listening enough if you think he only holds DOGE.

No offense mate, but this topic just screams investor-who-doesn't-know-what-he's-doing.

If you invest based on what influencers say you're bound to fail anyway.

There's no relations between holding Bitcoin over altcoins and influencers more hyping altcoins over Bitcoin. It's everyone choice to choose which coins/tokens they're invest/promoting. Also it's possible those influencers got paid by the CEO or team to promote their token, we just don't know what behind agreement created by them. Is there such stupid influencers want to disclose their assets without a prupose? They're know there's a risk doing that e.g. blackmailed.

stablecoin considering as altcoin right  Cheesy Cheesy so hodl it is good  Grin
I clearly don't understand why you say holding stablecoin is just because the price is remain always $1, it can be used for waiting to buy the dip.

Don't ever listen to influencers when it comes to investing, they're solely in it for the money that they can generate, and couldn't care less about their followers. This is pretty evident how they sell their soul just to flog certain products/services in order to get by. Elon Musk as pointed out can be quite the troll at times, but also he has to maintain a good image in the eyes of the public, because he owns a company which is suppose to offer a solution to computing, which at the same time is beneficial to the environment. (Lets just ignore the fact he also has a spaceship company which does more than its fair share of polluting).

Anyway, the point is whether its Elon Musk trying to keep company image in line with company policies, or any other famous person, they all have their own motives. If you want to decide what to invest in, take a look at what is important to you, and which cryptocurrency suits your needs. 90% of the time the answer will be Bitcoin.

He can't manipulate Bitcoin that is the truth and having Doge in his control, the more profit he could generate from innocent people. They'll come choosing altcoins and many known personalities were of the same purpose. But look how this ruins the reputation of Elon Musk in here coz those who hear about him will surely not trust him anymore.
I hold BTC and a few altcoins, but not Dogecoin. I can't live in a hype project like Doge and choosing altcoins for long-term holding must be chosen wisely, not because of someone like Elon Musk have said.

IMO, the reason could be Bitcoin is hard to manipulate, the more Bitcoin becomes expensive and the bigger the market cap it's the hardest it's to manipulate it.  If you really compare these two coins why Elon Musk didn't manipulate Bitcoin over Dogecoin is just because the Market Cap is that is easy to manipulate if the coins have low ratings on it.

Who else aside from Elon Musk?
AFAIK, not only influencers has been adopted Bitcoin, we have also a few countries has been legalized Bitcoin under their jurisdictions.

Elon considers himself the memelord. “Control the memes and you control the universe”, “the most entertaining scenario is the most likely”, etc…

Nothing more meme-worthy than dog money being mainstream. That’s literally all. Other than that, Doge has no active developments nor a supply cap. All its security comes from LTC merge mining. There is literally no reason other than “it’s funny” for it to “win” over BTC.

Influencers like EM prefer coins that they can easily manipulate (pump & dump). When he realized he can't easily affect Bitcoin's price anymore, he went to Doge. It's pretty simple. If you look at how Tesla made the largest part of their profits last year though, it was through Bitcoin investing and not through Doge investing. It doesn't seem this guy puts his money where his mouth is.

Just don't fall for influencer marketing guys. These baboons have no idea what they're talking about and just try to grab your hard-earned money by hopping onto the latest hype train.

I won't give investment advice, but this general rule also holds true with crypto: if something's too good to be true, it usually is.
Another general rule: higher risk investments yield higher returns, lower risk investments yield lower returns. It makes sense, because you 'get paid' for taking a larger risk essentially. So what to invest in mainly depends on your risk profile, gambling affinity, and investment period.
