Final: Japan vs Uzbekistan

It seems that it is indeed quite good that they deserve to make it to the final. Two teams did perform very well from the group phase until today. From today's two Semi-final matches, I was quite entertained by the Indonesia vs Uzbekistan match. It seems that the referee will again become the talk of the Indonesian people because of some funny decisions. Looks like Indonesia vs Referee.

But indeed in addition to the referee's decision actually I also admit that Uzbkistan performed very well, they are above the level of Indonesia. The next prediction, I think Uzbekistan will be the champion. In addition, Indonesia must win against Iraq to directly qualify for Paris 2024.

Next, Indonesia will meet South Korea, this will be another terrible match. Hopefully Indonesia will not be afraid of the skills of the Korean players and succeed in winning this match.

It was a long game and made me nervous.  But I'm happy with the final result. . And today feel anxious. When 11 Indonesian players were unable to play possession and they even conceded 1 goal. Some substitutes by STY were unable to provide a power effect. With a counterattack, Korea managed to make a draw end in a penalty.

Luckily we had a good goalkeeper, managed to thwart 2 penalties. Although Indonesia also missed 1 penalty for going wide. In addition, I also just found out the penalty score up to 10-11 even I just found out if the player has done everything will be repeated. Currently, Indonesia is just waiting for the results of the Saudi Arabia vs Uzbekistan match

It seems that we are the only Indonesians who discuss here. Lol.

That's right, it seems like Asian or even Indonesian members are less interested in the AFC U-23 competition lol.

well, the important thing is Indonesia managed to qualify for the next round after winning 1 - 4 over Jordan. Winning the matches obtained against Australia gave Indonesian players the opportunity to playing aggresive against Jordan. This succeeded in giving Indonesia a victory that I myself didn't think could be won with 4 goals. Even though Indonesian players scored an own goal, but Indonesian players remained consistent with the rhythm of the game until the end of the 2nd half. Next, Indonesia will meet South Korea, this will be another terrible match. Hopefully Indonesia will not be afraid of the skills of the Korean players and succeed in winning this match.

Today, Indonesia will meet Australia for the 2nd matches. Meeting a strong Asian team again, Indonesia, which currently has no points, must be able to win in order to still have a chance of qualifying for the next round. If Indonesia loses in this match, then "Garuda" team will not have another chance in the 3rd match, whatever the result. Indonesia can only have a chance if, in the match against Australia, they can draw, but in the 3rd match, Indonesia must be wins against Jordan. Meanwhile, Australia lost in the 3rd match to Qatar, and Jordan lost in the 2nd match against Qatar.

Indonesia vs Australia 1-0.

It seems that we are the only Indonesians who discuss here. Lol.
I am very happy with this result, of course the victory keeps Indonesia's chances of entering the knockout phase. Of course I had to be nervous because Australia got the penalty, but Ernando was outstanding. He was able to thwart it. After that, Indonesia became more confident. Until they managed to make a goal.

But then the game I was quite worried for the second half. Indonesia plays deeper, Indonesia doesn't hold the ball much. Many chances were created by Australia but did not manage to score. Indonesia's second half was not without chances, they had some chances, but they were not maximum. Next against Jordan, I think winning is the best target to safe go to knock out phase.

Thailand and Vietnam were the ASEAN teams that managed to get 3 points in the first match of the AFC Asian Cup U-23. These two teams seem to be potential teams to advance to the next round.

Qatar vs Indonesia 2-0
~snip~
Will the Senior Asian Cup match be repeated? It's funny. If you remember the referee gave 3 penalties in the senior Asian Cup final match against Jordan. I think it shouldn't happen. This result seems to be starting to show if Qatar seems to benefit a lot from refereeing in the next few matches. Many Indonesian fans were angered by the referee's decision, accusing Qatar of booking the U23 Asian Cup champions for them. That's because it's very clear the referee made a decision which I think was tough for Qatar.

A funny opening match. -snip-

yup, this is a match full of controversy. Maybe, if this were a World Cup match, then referee who officiated the match would have been get sanctioned by FIFA. This losing results made Indonesia lose the moment to give their best performance because 2 players chosen as starters had to be absent for the next match. Hope must be stay alive, Indonesia must move on from the results of the match against Qatar, assisted by the referee.

Qatar vs Indonesia 2-0
A funny opening match. I try not to be partial, but I saw the referee in the Qatar vs Indonesia match too with Qatar. There were some bad decisions that I thought shouldn't have happened. This decision made Indonesia disadvantaged, even playing with 9 people. Even if you look at the young Qatar players who have been taught to play their soap operas, there are too many funny incidents that harm Indonesia. They took advantage of the referee's weakness to weaken Indonesia. It's interesting but this is too bad, they weren't taught fair play well.

Interestingly, in the second half when playing with 10 people and continuing 9 Indonesians, they still continued to work hard. Even Indonesia's statistics look better. There are still 2 matches but Indonesia must lose because one of their main players must be absent if the appeal of the Indonesian football federation is rejected.

That ref is not suitable for football, always blows the whistle for every minor offence and pretend not to see any diving by Qatar players, the ref is more suitable to be a chess ref.
Indonesia did play aggressively but not that harsh, and they do not deserve to get 2 red cards like that.
Maybe Im a bit paranoid, but perhaps there is a scenario to make it easier for the hosts to qualify for the next round.
Considering that their seniors team failed to get any points at all in the 2022 World Cup.

It is difficult to predict the champion of the Asian cup in the age group. There will be many surprises that will happen. But some editions that have been running from 2013 Iraq, Japan, Uzbekistan, South Korea and Arabia are the countries that have tasted champions. I don't know many youth power maps, but I hope Indonesia can compete. At least they were able to qualify for the group stage.

Today is the first match in the AFC Asian Cup U-23 competition, group A. Australia U-23 is the favorite in the match against Jordan U-23, and Qatar U-23 may be more favored over Indonesia U-23. Also, Qatar is the host of the Asian Cup U-23, they will have a lot of national team supporters in the stadium which could reduce the concentration of Indonesian players. Even though they are not the favorite team, I am sure the Indonesia U-23 will play better this time. Of course Indonesia will trying to get 3 points, but if that is not possible, 1 point is also good for the opening match.

Naturally, I hope they are able to compete. In ranking, of course, Indonesia is in the Hell Group. But U23s are always difficult to predict, Indonesia can always compete if it's in the age group. The current condition of the team, the Indonesian players have 8 experienced players in the senior Asian Cup.

Some European players are also allowed to join. So I think they are capable of competing. The target of the Indonesian Federation is the semi-finals, although it looks difficult but the opportunity seems wide open. Hopefully they can play to their maximum and not many players will get injured. Lets Go Garuda !!!

Very satisfied with Indonesia's performance in the final Group K match of the Asian Cup U23 qualifiers. Indonesia managed to qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup for the first time in history. STY (Shin Tae-Yong) has a good strategy and succeeded in motivating Indonesian players who usually seem lazy. This is the list of 16 teams that have qualified for the 2023 Asian Cup
      1. Qatar (Host)
      2. Jordan
      3. South Korea
      4. Vietnam

Thanks to yesterday victory in the match against Turkmenistan at the Manahan stadium with the result 2 - 0 Indonesia coached by Shin Tae-Yong managed to qualify for the 2024 U23 finals and will be held in April 2024.
Now Shin Tae-Yong is the only coach worthy of Indonesia and thanks to his hard work Indonesia has succeeded in proving that they can indeed win at this important event on the Asian stage.
Qatar will be a country that can witness Indonesia next year competing in the U23 Asian Cup and fighting for the championship title even though there are 16 national teams that will compete there there will only be one that can be the strongest and take home title U23 Asian.

The last news of Liga 1 is delayed and this continues, I don't know about other countries it looks like they are still running the league next season.
It should depend on the situation in that country. If the situation is the same as in Indonesia nowadays, their leagues probably will be delayed as well. But if the situation in other countries is quite safe and no issues about Covid19, their leagues can continue.

Another that the last news I heard was that China was not convinced by Indonesia to be the host, because Covid cases continued to increase every day.
I think it is normal if China doubts Indonesia to be the host. We can see the situation in our country looks very bad because of Covid19. There is no certain time about the end of this situation. So, probably China or another country will suggest moving the host to another country. Well, let's hope it won't happen and Covid19 will be over soon.   Cry

Yeah I'd be happy if this would go on. Every country I perform I'm always excited to watch. Even though they were bad in qualifying for the world cup yesterday, I still support my country. Indonesia will be the host of course this is an advantage even without spectators. If you look at the list of participants, the Indonesian group has a pretty tough opponent. I hope they can qualify even though I know Indonesia is building a national team with a new coach.

as you said the qualifiers weren't that exciting, and the adrenaline wasn't too thrilling when we watched EURO yesterday. game class shows its quality. but even so, we still support their ball game which maybe 10 years later they will be very influential in the world game. and for now there are more things we are waiting for to welcome the world cup next year. and of course big bets will be more challenging.

It is happening in all countries around the world. Not only Indonesia but other countries also may not be very optimistic.
      ~snip~

If you look at the FIFA ranking table, of course, only Brunei Darussalam is below us. Australia is ranked 41, China is ranked 141. Indonesia itself is in position 173 at this time and only Brunei Darussalam is below Indonesia, which is ranked 189. If you analyze this, the chances of Indonesia being ranked second are quite large. Moreover, Indonesia as the host if that happens, because I heard news that Indonesia is getting worse because of Covid-19. I think Australia will be the Favorites in this group to qualify. But I hope Indonesia has great luck.

Indonesian players are good but they do not have adequate mental and physical.
We always experienced bad mentality and physicality during the match. It is a classic problem, but I can see some improvement lately. Especially if we look at how Indonesian players are already brave enough to play with high offensive, have the initiative to get the ball possession, and trying much to play at the opponent's area. It is much better than previously. Regarding physical improvement, I heard it is already done with some specific programs. I hope it can be clearly visible in this competition.

I agree if it is a scary group, but nothing is impossible in a football competition. A chance isn't only for a strong team, a weaker team also has the same.
Based on the opponent teams, China and Australia are the stronger teams in Group G. They have quality players and have better experience in international competition. Of course, Indonesia will have tough matches, but I disagree if no chance to qualify. If Indonesia can make 1 draw and 1 win against China-Australia, there is a chance to qualify to the next stage.  Wink

the host factor cannot be considered a big advantage in a football competition in the current pandemic era, moreover we know that the Indonesian government is currently implementing strict health protocols and it is possible that the match will not be able to be attended by Indonesian fans and guest team supporters.
Indeed it's not a big deal as you said, but I believe with or without supporters it would give a morale boost and confidence to the players particularly for those who do their first debut in such a formal event.

I think the ASEAN representatives who might qualify are Thailand and Vietnam,
Yeah both Vietnam and Thailand have quite good track records in the last 2 AFC cup, they are always qualified to 16 best national teams. Even Vietnam got claimed the runner-up title in AFC 2018 after being defeated by Uzbekistan

Yes, thats what i mean, 1st postions and 4 from 2nd positions.

Seeing the current opponents, the pandemic situation we encountered, and the fact that Indonesia never passes to the group stage since 2013, like it or not we need a "miracle" as you said for that's become true, lol.
the chance to be qualified maybe 0,1% is good enough for Indonesia. haha,

I think the ASEAN representatives who might qualify are Thailand and Vietnam, because these two teams have shown very significant improvements in recent years and from the group side, they have a pretty good chance. Vietnam may be quite difficult compared to Thailand, but, the strength of Hong Kong and Taipei, I think is still on averages of Vietnam's ability.

Yes, we can't expect much from Indonesia, because of the 4 teams that will qualify for the final round, only positions 1 & 2 will fill the slots.

Frankly, I am very pessimistic that Indonesia can go far in the AFC U23 competition in 2022, because if you look at the opponents that the Indonesian national team must face, it is certainly not an easy opponent, namely China, Australia and also Brunei Darussalam, and it can be said that maybe only the Australian and Brunei Darussalam national  team alone has never faced the Indonesian U23 national team so far, so they are a little blind to the strength of  Indonesian Team, but even so, maybe only Brunei Darussalam can be said if it is weaker than the Indonesian national team in group G, while China and Australia are two teams that have performed quite well so far in the AFC U23 competition and of course are strong opponents for Indonesia to compete pass the group phase later.

Really happy to see my country Philippines in there but I am not that hopeful that they will make it out of their group let alone their bracket, they're not the biggest players in the region.
