Oops,I thought the trust score will be based on the depth level of the members,so anyone knows how long time needed for a feedback to turns into green and what is the purpose of green into black after some time?
Here you go-
Correct. At 5, the trust score is light green. When it reaches 15, it turns dark green.
Examples: BitcoinNewsMagazine (14 at the moment) and Crypto-Universe (15 at the moment).

It won't reflect green after time of period,it depends upon how much feedbacks you have from DT level member and also DT depth level.
It will be green after 5 months, IMO. Initially, the trust score remains black only and later it turns into green. I don't know at what point at turns into green. For example, user shasan receives positive feedback from hiriousandco, a DT1 member. But still his feedback is black.
While user Darth0ne had received positive feedback from DT-2 member haploid23 which has already turned into green.

I have a better idea, why not display neutral with blue, green for positive and red for negative.

And if the visibility of trust ratings is still not clearer enough, you can choose a background color from the drop-down menu, i.e. cyan/magenta or any other of your choice.

As if the random color-formatted threads and posts are not enough. yikes

In short, please don't add bold bright green next bold bright red.

I forgot more than you will ever know.
I am fine with positive being black.
It means you are trustworthy, which is to my mind what every human being should naturally be.

Trustworthy = default behavior, and black is the default color.

Suits me.

Negative feedbacks don't have more power.
The algorithm applied here-
score = unique_positive - 2^(unique_negative)
           = 14 - 2^7
           = 14 - 128 = - 114
For calcuating the trust score easier, you may visit- [Explained] How Trust Score is calculated

If the unique negative feedback is raised to a power of two, which multuplies it several times, while positive feedback remains as it is, does that not infer that negative feedback are weighted more than positive?

With all due fairness, people with red/green color blindness probably won't get any benefit from changing to bold black to green. Perhaps make it a bold green? I'm not certain how a color blind person sees it now though.

One of the rare guy here - I have Red-green colour deficiency (not minor). From the example chenille posted, there is still differences between the Positive and Negative. In fact, it is Green and Red.

Positive rating
Neutral rating
Negative rating

I haven't much idea about trust system but I think it will not reflect instantly green on profile. Perhaps it's show green after a time of period.

So why should show green on comment since it's not green on rating ? I don't think it will not look good. Current system isn't bad. Regarding red it's instant reflect on user profile. So it's reflection red also on comment.

Green positives sound fine but it seems to me like the negatives are supposed to stand out and be more powerful the way it is designed.
I don't know the exact algorithm but for example QS is -114: -7 / +14 so he has 2X as many + as - but his score is still -114 so negative is more powerful.

I am excited already to try and see the new forum being developed for cryptocurrency discussions.
You are either misunderstanding or misleading the information by mistakes because of language barriers.
A new version of this forum is being developed, not a new forum for cryptocurrency discussions. Those two terms are totally different.

Maybe theymos hate to read the sentences which are written in green, because I found which looks annoying to read just same as red one. When someone is trustworthy then no one have to get annoyed by reading their feedbacks so lets keep as it is.

Lets decide which one is better

1.Traded some coins for more coins. As always, a trusted member of the bitcointalk community. Fast shipping, great packaging!

2.Traded some coins for more coins. As always, a trusted member of the bitcointalk community. Fast shipping, great packaging!
Same for me nothing unusual for the color coding. If theymos would consider this then probably he/she will also consiser structuring other boards to color them up.  And it will just waste of time. Besides there is another forum to be launch so it will mean that additional settings for this forum is not really necessary for now.

I am excited already to try and see the new forum being developed for cryptocurrency discussions. Hopefully other functions well consider as well like live chat for everyone in a channel.

That's true, especially when it's juxtaposed with the red on the negative feedback, it would be too much colours in my opinion.
Considering that not all feedback matter or are true, it might be better to have them less prominent, with maybe a green or red sticker at the end to show positive and negative. And plain for neutral.

Negatives i believe are more powerful, but I think the trust system was designed to be difficult to gain and easy to lose.
And someone who was deemed trustworthy but now has series of untrustworthy feedbacks, is no longer to be trusted.

The calculations is based on timing;
When the negative feedback was given,
And how many positive feedbacks have been received since.
With that the calculation is drawn.

It would be neat if the code was open sourced and people could submit their ideas as updates with the coding work already done, and the community could debug it before Theymos even has to glance at it. It would take most of the work out of it for him besides deciding to implement it or not.

Going open source could expose a lot of security concerns that could be exploited 0 day before it could be found and patched by the good side but maybe the backend could be separated from the front end in a way where users could play with the display and make things like the merit system and display characteristics but not account and user information stuff.

OG's idea of also ordering them by trust rating rather than date is ok too, but I would still want to be able to view them by date so I would hope for a flip switch too so you could change what column you want the list organized by, like you see at exchanges.
And that could turn into a whole mess of coding and a lot of work for Theymos. For all I know messing with that could cause bugs somewhere else.

Since the comments are already color coded, I think a better idea would be to list the usernames in the new colors, and leave the comments as is. That way it wouldn’t effect previous functionality and would only add new information. You could even take it a step further and sort the untrusted feedback so that all the negative trusted users are listed together at the bottom. This would keep a lot of the garbage ratings further removed from what could be legitimately useful untrusted feedback.

Would look much better than right now:
Try it, it most likely won't be better. And what's wrong with the current color scheme?
I don't think it's wrong right now, but it would be clearer to display it in green. The general trust rating is also green, black or red, so it would be reasonable to make it identical:

With all due fairness, people with red/green color blindness probably won't get any benefit from changing to bold black to green. Perhaps make it a bold green? I'm not certain how a color blind person sees it now though. I know that only in one in 12 men suffer from colorblindness. (1 in 200 women.) But that is not an insignificant amount of people to accommodate.

Is there a specific reason, or just your way of portraying things?
I guess it's because I'm used to the way stock market tickers display--green for a gain, red for a loss, black for unchanged.  The way bitcointalk does it seems weird to me perhaps because I'm weird.  I don't know.  Just a personal opinion I guess.

Try it, it most likely won't be better. And what's wrong with the current color scheme? The neutral ratings use italics to show the subtleness of the rating, bold black for positive, and bold red for negative.

The black/light black thing for positive and neutral trust has always seemed weird to me.
Is there a specific reason, or just your way of portraying things?

I'm actually all for this idea, and when I first joined the forum it kind of surprised me that the trusts were colored the way they were.  The black/light black thing for positive and neutral trust has always seemed weird to me.

However, I suspect Theymos has reasons for not going with your suggestion, but I'd love to know what they are.

How about displaying positive trust ratings in green fonts? I wondered why negative ones are red and positive ones just (bold) black. That would be easier to make the visibility of trust ratings clearer in general since positives ones are bold black and neutral ones just black right now. Neutral ones could still be black.

Like this:

Positive rating
Neutral rating
Negative rating

Would look much better than right now:

And it’s very easy to implement.  Smiley
