Starting November 29 funding rates have been significantly reduced.

0% Funding Rate for short-term contracts
Contracts with expiration less than 8 hours (1h, 3h, and 8h) do not pay funding costs anymore.

Reduced funding rates for the rest
Funding rates for the contracts with expiration 8h+ (including perpetual contracts) have been significantly reduced.
For example, the BTC funding rate was reduced from 0.1% per day to 0.033% (three times smaller).
For the full list of rates check our fee schedule.

DAI added as a collateral currency

DAI is a “stablecoin”, a cryptocurrency that is pegged 1:1 to the USD (1 DAI = 1 USD).
Traders on DMEX can now use DAI as collateral currency for their positions. This will allow traders to protect themselves from the volatility in the price of ETH.

To deposit DAI to DMEX from your wallet follow the same procedure as you would with ETH (click the right arrow in the balances block).

Happy Trading!

Stop-Limit Orders are now live on DMEX.

A Stop Order is an order that does not enter the order book until the market reaches a certain Trigger Price. Traders use this type of order for two main strategies:

  • As a risk-management tool to limit losses on existing positions.
  • As an automatic tool to enter the market at the desired entry point without manually waiting for the market to place the order.

A Stop-Limit order will become a Limit Order when the Stop Price is reached.

New Leverage Levels now available:

1x & 2x

With 1x leverage you can trade assets as you would on a spot exchange, the only difference being that you can only withdraw ETH, so if you buy BTC or other assets you cannot withdraw them, you can only earn the profit on the position in ETH.

Happy Trading!

Today we have deployed updated versions of our smart contracts that will allow for new possibilities in DMEX.

Changelog:
  • Position expiration bug fix. We have fixed an annoying bug that would throw an error when closing some expired positions and prevent them from closing.
  • Longer expiration terms for highly leveraged contracts. Now, up to 30D expirations available on all leverages.
  • Perpetual contracts are now available. Perpetual contracts are futures contracts without an expiration date. Positions on perpetual contracts do not expire and can only be closed through the order book.
  • Fee Credit implementation is now possible. The new contracts allow dynamic reduction of trading fees for users with Fee Credit on their account.
  • Funding Cost is no longer reserved in the margin. Funding costs for the life of the contract will no longer be reserved during position opening. Instead, the liquidation price will be adjusted during the time the position is open to take into account the accumulating funding cost. This allows us to offer long term and perpetual futures contracts for high leverage positions.
  • Taker fee will be charged to close an expired position. When a position is expiring the trader will be charged the taker fee for the closure of the position to cover the gas and oracle costs.

These changes will allow for further development of the DMEX project and make it more competitive with the established centralized exchanges in the space.

Note: If you have funds on the old smart contract:
Go to Exchange > Menu > Smart Contracts
2. In the Base Contract dropdown select the second contract form the list.
3. Close the Menu
4. Withdraw funds (if you get an “insufficient funds” error, decrease the amount slightly.
5. Go to Menu > Smart Contracts and select the newest Base Contract
6. Deposit funds and Trade!

Email & Password login now available

In order to improve the user experience for users that do not have experience with using wallets and private keys, we have created a secure way to use your email and password for login.

When you register using this method, a private key is created on the browser and then encrypted with your password. Only the encrypted private key is sent and stored on our servers (the password is not sent to the backend). This way you still have total control over your funds but have the convenience of having to remember your password instead of the complicated private key.

For added security, you can still use MetaMask and Ledger.

Awesome, looks like an interest product. At derivatives market we need a true decentralized exchanges - but some of competitors still in development mode Sad

My team represent ContractMarketCap.com - world's first derivatives market data platform.
Looks like a coinmarketcap, but with strong focus to derivatives, such as futures, swaps and options (coming soon).

If we want to integrate connector for your exchange, where i can find API docs? Or who can help us?

Lot of thanks. Feel free to contact us - [email protected] or DM.

Hi indexprotocol,

We will be releasing our API somewhere in the future. We will make an announcement when it happens. We'll be happy to be featured on your portal.

Major Update: No profit limit

Today we have rolled out a major update to our smart contracts. Following numerous requests from our customers, we have changed the structure to remove the profit cap on the positions.

Now, a position can be closed only in the following 3 events:
the contract has reached its expiration block
liquidation price for the position was reached
user closed the position manually through the order book

The profit is now unlimited and traders can benefit from big swings in the price.
Note: To move funds from the old contract to the new one, go to Menu > Smart Contracts and select the previous Base contract from the dropdown, withdraw your funds and then choose the latest contract and make a deposit.

Similarly when comparing a Buy order at the same price of 9000$ but with 100X leverage, the liquidation price on BitMEX is 8957$, while the same value for DMEX stands at 8910$! The higher the leverage, the higher the proportional difference. In the 100X case, the distance from price to liquidation is more than TWICE! higher on DMEX (90$ compared to 43$).
Okay, but how? Why can you offer a better liquidation price than Bitmex? What happens when there's a flash crash? You probably won't be able to market sell those 100x leveraged longs, and thus lose a lot of money..

Or am i missing something?

Hi, thanks for the question!

Although visibly DMEX looks and operates exactly as a centralized exchange, it has a different underlying structure.

Whenever a trade is performed, it is performed between two traders in a P2P decentralized fashion.

So let’s take for example two traders, one is going long Bitcoin at 10000 USD and 5x leverage and another trader is going short bitcoin at 10000 USD with 5x leverage. A contract is created between the two, each one putting up 2000 USD as collateral and having their liquidation prices at 8000$ and 12000$ respectively.

So if the price goes above 10000$ the Short pays the Long, and if the price goes below 10000 the Long pays the Short. This way there is no need to have a reserve added to the liquidation price to mitigate liquidity risks because the loss and the profit are already fully collateralized.

DMEX vs BitMEX

Like if everything above wasn't enough, DMEX offers a much better liquidation price than centralized exchanges. We have performed several experiments to compare the conditions on DMEX and BitMEX and what we found out, surprised even us. For an identical Buy order of 1 BTC @ 9000$ with 3X leverage, the liquidation price on BitMEX is 6776$, while the liquidation price on DMEX is 6000$! A huge difference.

DMEX.App is the first-ever decentralized margin trading exchange!

It is important to note that DMEX is firstly an Exchange and then it is Decentralized also. This means that there are no usual frictions and tradeoffs associated with decentralized exchanges. DMEX behaves like a usual centralized exchange: trades execute instantly, there is no competing for orderers (all orders are executed on the first-come, first-served basis). Moreover, DMEX has significant advantages over traditional exchanges:

- Full security of funds (unhackable, unstealable)
- Position liquidations performed through a decentralized Oracle based on the price source. Owners of DMEX cannot manipulate the price to liquidate your position.
- Flexible Expiration dates for positions - this is something we haven't seen anywhere else. You can choose when you want your position to expire from Perpetual (never expiring), 1h, 3h, 8h, 24h, 3d, 7d, 30d, 90d, and perpetual contracts.
- No Liquidity risk. Sometimes, when you open a position you are worried if there will be enough liquidity to close the position without incurring a huge slippage cost. Not on DMEX. Due to the structure of DMEX all positions are fully collateralized, if there are no orders in the order book, your position will settle in full on the expiration date (the flexible expiration dates come in handy here).

Assets traded:BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, BCH, BNB, EOS, TRX, ADA, XLM, XMR, LINK, ETC, NEO, ONT, BAT, NANO, ATOM and IOTA.
Available Margin: 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100X (depends on the Asset)
Available Expiration Terms: Perpetual (never expiring), 1h, 3h, 8h, 1d, 3d, 7d, 30d and 90d
Margin Currencies: ETH and BTC

DEMO Trading Available - Try DMEX for yourself without any risks.
