So down to the point, do people stake money and don't get attached to it? If you have staked money then you are gambling and that has emotion too. So if someone has to have fun purely, you can install some games on your phone or go to game houses where you only watch games. It is difficult to gamble while your emotion is isolated from it.

Gambling is not the only activity that one can get addicted to. There are so many activities out there that you do not even need to stake any money for a potential win that one can get addicted to. You need to understand how addiction works. Addiction comes as a result of performing an activity or action that gives you a rush of the hormones that make you feel good. One can get addicted to playing football, playing video games, running, lifting weights etc The rule of thumb here and it applies to all of them is that everything should be done in moderation. Yes, I totally agree to what you said about not letting gambling be our only option when we think about having fun, because since it involves staking of funds with a risk likelihood of we either winning or losing our staked amount, such individual is likely to go bankrupt or probably get addicted if care is not taken. Hence, if only we could have other activities where we derive fun from it (e.g playing of live soccer games, playing of chess game and Scrabble), it will go a long way reducing the rate at which people get addicted to gambling. Most of my activities are money sinks, and I feel like gambling is the only 'fun' activity I spend the least money on. I'm engaged into old school MMORPGs that make me spend thousands of dollars every month just to keep up with the current items with the strongest people in the game. It still gives me some money in return though, but not as much when compared to gambling.
Even though this is the case, I believe that I do not have even the slightest hint of being addicted to it. I'm still not getting too much into it and just spend a very minimal amount per week compared to what I'm earning in a month. We all know that there is this thing called "the law of diminishing return".
