As new news are coming up, and the situation develops.
Looks like the CEO stole the coins or has been kidnapped.
Whatever, the important thing is that the cold wallet keys are with him, so is looking more like users will not get the coins back.

There are rumors that IDAX CEO run away with the cold storage keys and the exchange is not processing withdrawals.
Coinmarketcap is now showing a warning

https://bitcoinist.com/idax-exchange-whats-really-happening-to-withdrawals/

Be aware that something is going on with this exchange,

Not your keys not your coins
This is a serious warning and this looks like a positive scam. I visited their chat group via the link in CMC, only a few members left and some members began to be kicked one by one by the admin.

Your account is secured because you have 2FA on it so it's just normal to think there's an inside job.
If you can share, how much money is involve here? and can you provide an evidence of your serious accusation against the site?

I don't have to believe you right away as I have use the site and I don't experience any single problem with them.

This exchange is very suspicious. You can check their Telegram, it seems that the support team is very weak and does not answer members' questions.
Recently many ICO projects have accused them of being scammed by IDAX regarding the listing of IEO on IDAX. It is better for everyone to stay away from this.

I reported it via email and telegram , telegram support basically gave me the I’m sorry response lol
You, as a customer, deserve a better response than a mere sorry blah blah blah.
I would consider opening a thread in scam or reputation thread if I were you and present all the necessary details. You may not get yours back but maybe you can help save someone's funds from that exchange.

Yeah will do

Please move this to service discussion. This isn't discussing something related to bitcoin, but it is discussing a service provider (Idax Exchange).

There was previously a medium post - https://medium.com/@info_85454/idax-pro-scammed-crypto-projects-for-up-to-5-000-000-usd-c2d10a0dd14e (it has now been deleted, or the account got suspended).

I can remember the premise of the article, but I do not have it here since it's removed. A month or 2 ago, Idax contacted a lot of companies about offering them an IEO, and charged insane fees (30-40 BTC per IEO), and after accepting payment from these companies, Idax made up excused and never listed them on the exchange.

‘We are sorry that we have checked your withdrawal address which does not belong to our platform’
What do they mean by this?

I even asked them just to tell me how the person was able to bypass my multiple 2fa layers and just got radio
Silence , I have the telegram logs to prove it
It's understandable that they won't respond immediately. I would assume that they are investigating the incident further. How long has it been since you reported the hack?

I said the same thing lol, what does that even mean? , nah they basically told me to get lost, I reported the hack right after it happened, so it happened at 8 am , I detected it at 9am of course by then it was too late account was drained ...

I reported it via email and telegram , telegram support basically gave me the I’m sorry response lol

It could be that someone else was able to hack your account and that IDAX security is so poor that the hacker was able to bypass 2FA or email verification. This has also happened in other exchanges if I am not mistaken. Have you made an effort to contact the IDAX support?

Yeah I did , I provided them with logs email proof etc and all they said was this

‘We are sorry that we have checked your withdrawal address which does not belong to our platform’

A total joke

I even asked them just to tell me how the person was able to bypass my multiple 2fa layers and just got radio
Silence , I have the telegram logs to prove it

You mean by withdrawn, by other person? About the change password, yes every site should have a feature to change the passwords as temporary passwords of its users but it should have an email notification to let its user know and let them change their password right after they changed it.

And regarding the reputation of idax, I don't think they have in the very first place, they have lots of scam reports on google specially the recent, which I'm aware of is regarding to one of their ieo.

Yes by either an internal person or external, that’s the thing they have an email based password change notification where you have to get a code in your email to change the password, however in my case the password was changed without any of these emails going out.  The account login is via email so that can’t be changed so somehow the thief was able to change the password without accessing my email, then also login to the account with the new password WITHOUT using google authentication which is on my phone and never leaves my hand.

Then also do a withdraw bypassing both these again.  Either they have a serious security hole or it’s an inside job

My funds were withdrawn on there today , I had 2FA via google authentication and also email code confirmation for withdrawal

Seems like and inside job because they were also able to change the account password without and emails being sent or confirmed.

The only emails I saw were the account access emails , so it seems they have a serious flaw or breach.

Beware !!
