It is very possible that online gambling streamers will get addicted to gambling.  As said there is always a possibility since they are exposed to gambling activity.  I think there are cases on the internet where gambling streamers got addicted to gambling.  If I am not mistaken streamer like Ludwig and xQc are examples of streamers that got addicted to gambling.

Kind of impossible to tell.
Maybe they are, maybe they are not. The odds are pretty much the same, as they would be for any other guy.
And no, you can't tell whether someone is "addicted to gambling" by their appearance. There are a thousand other things(External and internal factors) which have an influence on your health.

But I do hope that they are addicted and I want them to lose EVERY FUCKING THING that they own.
After all, they are pushing kids and teenagers to gambling.

OOT: I really like how UK has passed a law recently where celebs, influencers can't advertise for a casino/sportsbook. We need something similar on twitch and other streaming platforms. https://www.thedrum.com/news/2022/04/05/uk-gambling-firms-banned-using-sports-stars-celebs-and-influencers-ads
I think it's wrong if you want their lives to be destroyed just because you think they are the root cause of gambling addictions. I think that streamers only ventures this industry for them to earn money to live. Many kids are visiting twitch so maybe twitch can hide gambling and other adult content to them.
With this philosophy you can justify burglary, drug peddling, human trafficking or any other crime.  Would you?

I am only wishing it, whereas they are actually doing it. They have no moral standard, and neither do their sponsors. You can't be more parasitic than those streamers TBH
Twitch is known to be notorious when it comes to protecting their userbase. Its a dirty business.

This is not just a job, and they are also human so possibly some streamers might get addict too since they are exposed on gambling and probably they want to play more so they can have more videos to share and if they are playing or gambling everyday, you can consider that as addiction already but that streamer is still on a state of denial. Regardless of your status if you gamble carelessly, you can still be a victim and become addict, so don’t over confident and stay focus on your self control.

Anyone could fall into gambling addiction regardless of their profession. Streamers also have a high chance of falling into it since they're more exposed to gambling sites and could get tempted to go beyond their limits especially if it becomes their daily routine. They could be funded but if get hooked on playing and betting, worse scenarios could follow. If the streamer is a wise player, responsible bettor, and just taking advantage of the sponsorship, he would rather earn than spend too much on gambling.

Everyone can be susceptible to gambling addiction, even those who are doing it as a job. No one is safe from addiction especially if they are engaged with it a lot of hours every day. If they are level-headed and know what they're doing, plus they know that they already are set for life since they're making money off of this even if they don't win, then there'll be no problem. So far with watching some gambling streamers on Twitch, none of them looked like they're extremely hooked. They're just there to entertain and make some money, and not get drowned in the delusions of hitting the big jackpot.

well if they spend all day playing gambling and betting (and maybe they do this activity as their main activity to distract themselves) I think so, the risk of being addicted is very high.

over the years I have seen some "public" bettors on social networks and they had a compulsive attitude with little or no self-control...

Well, I follow some streamers who have been in the game for years and, in my opinion, they don't need to do this kind of thing, but they do, yeah! So Streaming  it will leave money?.  Wink

On the other hand, the issue of addiction and those things, I have not had the experience of knowing any of them, nor do I think we will know if these people have these problems.

I don't think online gambling streamers can still get addicted to gambling because this is their jobs already and they are exposed to it daily. Maybe they can only feel bore for doing the same thing every single day but they can't stop because like I said earlier this is their livelihood. And yes it's not possible to tell if they are addicted or not, only by just looking at their appearances.

Not only offline gambling , Online gambling also can  be addictive to some. when some one gamble and losa his money then he what to win and recover his previous loss . This consciousness drags him to further harm.
No gambling that you you are serious with that is not gambling, if you are addicted in offline gambling is the same thing online gambling, the thing is that person don't be addicted because either offline or online addiction is addiction. So what we should be saying is to avoid anything gambling so that we can not be addicted with it. In fact anything you are doing you make sure that you have be addicted to it rather it will cause very Big problem

Most common human character is habit and lust, I'm sure not all streamers are successful keep the brain stable, they must gamble to promote and probability normal if become addicts, the reason playing every day will become a habit and it triggers their brain but they are given more benefits. From payment gambling platforms they promote etc, allows him not to spend a dime to bet, just that if their money runs out then they will definitely deposit with their savings.

These days it's almost impossible to tell who is genuine when they're streaming content, because there is so much underhanded and subversive advertising going. Essentially you'll find there are going to be three groups of people doing this online gambling streaming: people who don't know any better, who might be rich enough to sustain their habit for a while but they'll eventually burn out, people who are getting paid by gambling companies (either through their account being funded or favorable betting algorithms switched on for their account) and a relatively few truly skilled players who are doing this like poker where they have acquired enough skill to grind a profit. If you can figure out someone from the last group then it might be worth a watch, but the other two are pretty sad cases.

Yes, since streaming has become a serious business, it is very difficult to understand whether we have an "honest" person or a product of marketers. But in any case, streamers are the same people as the rest, so they are subject to the same weaknesses as the rest. It is quite easy to assume that among them there are alcoholics, drug addicts and so on. Naturally, some of them are also addicted to gambling, as they often encounter it at work, which means they have a lot of chances to pick up an addiction.

I believe some of them yes and drake is one of the best example for them. Lol for me probably that's the only way for them to spend their money since they are very rich.. And i think streaming will be their second option or should i say to gain more followers also while following their addiction, no other intentions but of course of thing is for sure and that is most of them have couch in order for them to win more.  Cheesy

Hasn't this topic been discussed in another forum thread a week ago?
1. Those streamers are probably promoting some casino, so they are basically gambling for free(the casinos pay them for promotion).
Maybe it's easier to get addicted to gambling, when you aren't spending your own money? I don't know.
2. I don't really think that the streamers are "doing what they love" all the time. Being a Twitch streamer is like having a job. You have to be consistent and do this every day. Some streamers get tired of this routine.
There's no clear answer to your question. Do you think that the Twitch gamers get addicted to gaming? I don't know, maybe some of them get addicted, while others don't. Gaming is as addictive as gambling. It's kinda difficult to spot an actual gambling addict online. Most gambling addicts are really good at hiding their addiction.

Well, you're right, I also think like you. Most gambling streamers act professionally as they usually promote several online casinos on the Twitch channel.
I don't see a big impact on their activities, because most of them don't use personal money, which means all the facilities are arranged by the online casino. (this is just my opinion) there is nothing wrong with this, but in this case, it is rare for streamers to become addicted to gambling.
however, it is possible, there are some streamers who become addicted because of excessive activity and they happen to like gambling.

I haven't watched any streamer who is promoting a gambling site but I am curious to know how can streamers play gambling all day long without losing money.

If you say the streamers are funded by the gambling companies but then only the famous streamers should be funded. The new streamers will have to gamble out of their own pocket while streaming, right?

I have heard about online streamers and how they spend hours at their computer screen gambling and winning huge amounts of money. It looks fun because they get to earn money doing something they love. Positive feelings are generated when they gamble. Moreso, these gambling streamers also get a lot of views too. For example this this user - Coin_traderalready collated some data on how much viewers are interested in gambling streams compared to typical online games streams. However, with the little knowledge I have about the role that biological factors like dopamine and serotonin dysfunctions playing in fostering addiction1, I can't help but wonder if online gambling streamers ever get addicted to gambling. What do you think? And can the viewers who watch these streams tell if the streamer is addicted to gambling by observing some physical symptoms such as pale skin, weight gain/loss, acne and dark circles under the eyes?2

yeah, and maybe perhaps they are already addicted to gambling even before they become a streamer. only a moron would say that online gambling streamers won't get addicted to gambling.

And can the viewers who watch these streams tell if the streamer is addicted to gambling by observing some physical symptoms such as pale skin, weight gain/loss, acne and dark circles under the eyes?"
yeah, anyone who knows what the symptoms of gambling addiction would be able to tell if someone is addicted to gambling if they observed them long enough.

Streamers are humans too so anyone can be addicted to gambling if they don't put a limit to their activities and as we all know these streamers even continue for hours and almost 12 hrs or even more so they have high chances but what we have to keep in mind they are living out of it so it can be hard work to reach better life and you know when they reach certain level they get sponsor for their bets and brands will pay you for promotions.

Well, there is a difference between gamblers and those who are gambling streamers. The gambling streamers are usually making money all the time through streaming and therefore they may not feel tired when they know that the longer they stream, the more they may earn. Anyways, still, money is not everything and they should take care of work life balance. Also, they should understand that the longer they are on the duty (streaming), it could have a bad effect on their health also.

I think they can become gambling addicts if they can't resist or they feel very challenged if they lose and want to win,
indeed they were originally funded by the casino that used them, but I'm sure they will always use the money from their salary to promote the casino itself
like the saying "you can because you're used to it" and because it's normal that makes them addicted to gambling

I think it depends on the streamer if they are affiliated with the gambling website or if they are really gambling as a whole.

There are streamers on CSGO where they are affiliated with some gambling companies that sponsor their case openings. I have watched a ton and due to this sponsorship, they have become addicted to gambling on skins (this is purely on e-sports).

I have yet to encounter a normal streamer who suddenly promoted a gambling website and became addicted to it. It is most probably that they are doing such promotion due to the money that was offered for their exposure and advertisement.

There are indeed gambling addicted streamers who use their income to feed their addiction. Luckily they are being paid by casinos or earn a decent paycheck from views, so they aren't going to lose everything like the average addicted gambler who can't manage to control himself and end harming his financial life.

Addicted streamers turn somehow their issue into a tool to acquire a new source of income, and even though it seems strange and dangerous for themselves on long run, that is a desired opportunity by many other gamblers around who would like to be on their shoes.

It depends on their character but it's possible, they are playing and they are getting paid to stream their game we can hardly tell if all the signs you've mentioned are signs of a gambling addict, I have seen a lot of gambling addicts that are good in hiding their addiction in their appearance, but these are the signs of people who lose a lot from gambling, if you're a streamer you want to look good on your follower so even if you're addicted you will try to look good to the point you will use a filter or make up, you don't want your followers losing trust and confidence on you.

I think that everything is individual. There are streamers who are engaged only in advertising and, in fact, play for fake money (their income is casino advertising), and there are those who love gambling and streaming for them, this is another income channel to satisfy their passion for gambling. Personally, I have seen streamers whose honesty I have no doubt with an obvious addiction to gambling. They were losing significant money and looked really upset, unlike the commercial streamers.

You're likely to get wet if you dip your water in a pond so is, in gambling, you are given free money and you are exposed to different gambling strategies and people will not believe you if are not passionate about what you're streaming so I believe the majority of them are addicted to gambling in some degree, your credibility is important so you should show that you know and understand and very much into it.
As the saying goes, "you're likely to get wet if you dip your hands in a pond of water" unless if you are wearing gloves. Tongue
So, the probability of getting addicted is higher once you are exposed to different gambling games and those streamers isn't an exception. Although, I can't totally say they were addicted but being a professional gamblers/streamers at the same time will somehow make you addicted to it as you continue playing. But if it's only for their work, why they do it, then, they aren't addicted to it they're just doing it for a cause.

I do not know about whether streamer can be addicted to gambling or not but because they get money from the way they play gambling, it is very unlikely for them to be addicted because they have to look professional and if the sign of addiction is only from an aging face, dark circle in the eyes etc. I think it happened because they had to work for a long time so that there was not enough time to rest but their gambling activity was purely for content not because they were addicted

Like davis196 said, they don’t get addicted to gambling. They are professionals. Pros don’t lose control. They don’t get addicted. In every step they take, they exactly know what they are doing because that’s the definition of being a professional. That’s how they make their money.

It is them general public get addicted and lose their life savings because they have no control and they are stupid. They are the “amateurs”.

No one knows the fact about an addiction of others including those who are working as gambling streamers.
They are all human like us who can be addicted because they do it regularly which in most case is the start of an addiction.
There are some news about addicted streamers, some of them lose huge amount of money because of the addiction.
It is a proof that professional can lose their control because it is a nature of every human being.

They should be affected to some degree especially since I think being affected by dopamine and entering that rush can be quite entertaining for viewers BUT at the same time, the fact that you're presenting yourself and you're gambling sessions to a group of people is kind of like a limit in itself. It's like a constant reminder of sorts that you shouldn't let yourself completely loose but at the same time, let yourself loose. It's the middle ground so to speak and if you've been streaming other content for so long and gambling came in like later on, then you'd definitely be able to do this really well imo.

And there's the issue that well, if they show negative signs they're entire career of streaming may go downhill and may even be sued or something, both by the company their advertising and the streaming platform (not sure about the streaming paltform though).

When it comes to addiction, IMO, I think it all depends on the personality of the person in question. If the online gambling streamer is someone who has a personality that is susceptible to addictions he may easily get addicted to gambling even without much engagements, but for someone that doesn't get easily attached or addicted to things, they are still at the danger of addiction but it may take longer exposure and engagements to their online gambling streaming activities.

And can the viewers who watch these streams tell if the streamer is addicted to gambling by observing some physical symptoms such as pale skin, weight gain/loss, acne and dark circles under the eyes?2
Viewers who are very observant and have been addicted before or know someone closely who was addicted and showed some similar physical symptoms can tell.

This is their job and being professionals will take them further. Getting addict in gambling means something is wrong with that streamer that only means he forget to focus on his job and not to fall on the trap of gambling because most probably there's a lot of offers to streamers so they will promote the specific site and that reward might be more tempting that's why some failed to stay professional. Streamer is just doing this because its their job, though some are a real gamblers who want to take advantage their social status.

Maybe it's tough to get out of the habit when his job is still related to gambling. He sees it every day and keeps refreshing his mind.

They are supposed to be earnings without risk and all they are doing on stream are just an act. But if he spends his own money to gamble, then he really got into gambling seriously that he already thought he could win.

Do they always win during their livestreams? Are we certain that those are not just for promotion when they manage to win huge amount of money? I don't believe they are always winning when gambling because if they do, they must have some agreement between the casino that they will let him win to deceive people to use their platform which will definitely ruin his career if his viewers found out what he did.

Everyone is suspectible to gambling addiction. A famous person that is addicted to gambling won't show his audience that he is in that condition and those physical symptoms are not enough to say the person is addicted,

Unfortunately, since anyone can be addicted to anything then so are streamers especially that they do it on a daily basis. In actuality, there are already alot of famous people and streamers who got broke because of gambling. However, in regards with gambling streamers, most of them are sponsored by the gambling platform to stream and even if they lose they'll be able to add more funds on their account.

Anyone can become a gambling addict, but usually, streamers are into business, they are after the promotion so they can earn money. An addicted gambler usually does not talk to anyone, he has his own world as he is solely focused on gambling.

So the answer of the question is "YES".

The streamers most likely do not get addicted because most of them are being paid to show these streams by gambling companies, they give them huge balance and tell them to play with maximum bet in order to make people think that you can win a lot of money from the slot machines. If they were addicted and were playing with their own money at betting at 100 EUR per spin I don't think they would show up as happy as they are in the videos.

Sure maybe an exception to the rule but most of them do not suffer from gambling addiction because of the above.

I think some online gambling streamers have experienced gambling addiction, and some of these online gambling streamers can cure their gambling addiction through various programs. But I think there are still online gambling streamers who are still addicted to gambling until now who have not been able to overcome their gambling addiction. As for the symptoms, maybe the symptoms will vary from one person to another. The symptoms may be the same as what other people out there are experiencing and they don't know if they are really addicted to gambling or not because usually they only know if they want to gamble.

Aren't they paid by the casino itself to gamble the money owned by the casinos as well? If they get addicted that will  be the end of their career as streamer. They have been playing for sometime they should know if these casinos are legitimately making people win.

I understand the hate. They are  attracting people to stray into gambling and must have destroyed countless lives. Sure its not just you who hates them.

Hurrah for Karamazov!

The answer could either be yes or no. It doesn't mean that because they are online gambling streamers they wouldn't get addicted to gambling. But it also doesn't follow that since they are online gambling streamers, they will get addicted to gambling. Many of these streamers are primarily streamers rather than gamblers. They are promoters or marketers rather than serious gamblers. And they're paid as streamers. They're not simply wasting money. They're sponsored.

Evidently YES because I watch a lot of streams and video about streamers turning to problematic gambler and lose all there funds in a single bet. This is understandable because they are always exposed to gambling and we know how addictive it was if you are doing it most of the time even if they are just doing it for stream. The problem is they still using real money and playing it in real life. They just stream it but that doesn’t mean they are different to typical gambler that don’t stream.
