Posting Items on Bitmit. Then I send links to other forums with people that may have interest in those items.
I'll let my stuff go for cheap.

It's a grassroots effort. Always do something.
Just buy and hold is boring.
Buy bitcoins and then sell the idea to others.

I can't seem to open Bitmit in English, only in German, is this normal?

I have given some small BTC birthday presents.

I just sent some wallet.dat files loaded with BTC to their email address.

When they are ready to play, its there. Otherwise its no hassle to them.

And honestly whats a better way to argue ease of use than to send it through a damn email?

No, we are not doomed - we just need to accumulate even more BTC...  Shocked  Cheesy

Maybe best case scenario for Bitcoin under this view would be a total collapse of the established currency system with people seeking desperately for "safer" alternatives.

If the alternative is valued in the collapsing currency then the alternative will crash as well.

This would only hold if fiat was the only thing you could buy with BTC.  This is far from true.

I don't see any logic here...  Huh This has been proven wrong countless times (e.g. paper currency hyperinflation vs. gold).

It's a paradox, or a dilemma:

more people hoarding --> more scarcity --> higher BTC price --> less people willing to spend
--> which is detrimental to a new currency's adoption  --> lower BTC price

If an equilibrium is achieved at the current level, are we doomed?

I've tried to get the ball rolling about bitcoin participation on a music forum. F*ing CLASSIC response, ahem:

Edit: I'm actually pleased because at least people have heard of it. Halfway there. Now to just undo the media brainwashing...

Just post the bitcoin conference video with rick falkwinge talking, or link to charitys that take bitcoin donations.

Just send simple emails to webshops/sites and ask if/when they can take Bitcoin as a payment.

Even ask when you are out, shopping something.
The more people have heard about it, the more they will know its a good thing.

Its that simple.

For every email they get, the will think about it that much more.

After a while a few shops will accept Bitcoins, once they do.
Others will see this and start to think its legit.

I've been trying to make uses with my BTC.  I'm renting showtime with it and I occasionally make buddhist malas for people so I put a thread to do that in the marketplace too.  Obviously not many buddhists/mantra practitioners around here though.

I have items I need to get rid of but far too big for shipping, two 12" subs in a box for example.

In the marketing world:  No publicity is bad publicity.

In Bitcoin world: No activity is bad activity. Buy, sell, mine, post, blog, tell a friend ... doing anything is better than than doing nothing.

Come on, give this baby some attention, don't let it wither in a corner.

The possibility is endless.
