Why are you asking the staff/mods?

Moderators on most forums and websites have no power to change policies. On bitcointalk it's pretty much the same. They can't ban either. Asking mods continuously to ban x person for owning a ponzi or block y threads is just harassing them, because they can't anyway. And the administrators have made their stance perfectly clear.

Anyway, I believe if you read the 1000 other threads open on this topic, you would've found out that theymos is contemplating a section for Ponzis and other HYIPs.

Yes this is the quote :

This has come up before. The main issue is that ponzis are very similar to both other gambling sites and real investment sites, so it's difficult to create a category that includes exactly the right things. How about this:

Quote
Investor-based games
Games where the main factor is whether or not new "investors" join the game. Also any Bitcoin-denominated investment product with an APR of 15% or more, which are similarly risky even if they're not actually paying interest using investor deposits.

Would this description cover any real investments or non-ponzi gambling sites? Would it fail to cover any ponzis that have existed in the Bitcoin ecosystem?

Also, are any actual users of the Gambling section irritated by this, or are people just trying to hide this kind of game? Is anyone against the creation of this section?

I agree, newbies are spamming everywhere and as a worthless account they says what they want to say they did what they want to do, I would happy to see moderator re-set the rule about Newbie and keep them in the "newbie" section.

i hear ya both but some kind of solution needs to be made. the forums priority list should include protecting members. yea members "should" know not to invest but look at all the history of this place. things that "should" have been known have not stopped a ton of people from getting straight ripped off

Your best bet would be to educate them.
Or at least cure them of some sort of gambling syndrome, not handicapping others for others' foolish vices.

Won't that be weird since there are newbies that make pretty good service announcements?

that would increase the Account Market and also a harder time in the forum wouldn't it?

ok first of all this is prob not the correct section, but it very well might be read more often here. this is to the staff and to all the moderators of this forum.

Meta would be the correct section

if you all go browse the games and rounds section and now its starting in this section, you will see ponzi after ponzi after ponzi. ITS GETTING OLD. also youll notice that all the creators of these posts are newbia accounts.(most likely same user multi-accounting)

Games and rounds is a child board of gambling, what else would you expect?

members are getting a daily increase in risk of getting ripped off. i know theres a ton of business done here daily, and members do not deserve to be ripped off. nor do we deserve to see ponzi schemes created daily and nothing done about it.

Members don't deserve to be ripped off but in all honesty, members should realize the risk in touching anything in the gambling subforum including "investing" in such schemes.

heres my solution. lets change shit up on all these new guys. make it mandatory for a certain amount of activity reached before allowing new members to make threads. they can post in threads, just not make any new threads. i realize some members have legit services or things to sell that are new accounts, but its better for the community as a whole to restrict newbie accts. if members have something to sell and are new they can contact an escrow or another member and have them post on their behalf, maybe give them a small % for helping out.

this may or may not be a great solution but something needs to be done.

That sounds like it would work in theory but there would be nothing preventing one of those "newbies" from purchasing an account to circumvent the system.
