A bull market is a time when scammers catch greedy investors. The rule or bait “Buy now, otherwise you will be late” works for scammers. The deadline is set very short so that the person does not have the opportunity to soberly evaluate either the project or the proposed deal that promises large interest rates. Therefore, now is precisely the time when decisions to do something with your finances should, on the contrary, be checked very slowly and carefully. Don't chase high percentages; ask yourself why anyone would give away something that brings good profit to the owner. And would you do the same?
It is in chasing bigger profits that lead us to get scammed in the process. Instead, focus more on the security of your coins and guard your wallet 24/7, otherwise once you lost them all, all your capital and efforts will go into waste. While trading is more profitable in this bullish season, but scamming as well gets more rapid when everyone else is excited to get profits in the market. The safest way is to get well-informed and be more precise in your decision making, security of your investment is more crucial rather than taking profits this time, or you can guard them both.

Mostly, they just wait for the bitcoins to be on the headlines again and when that happens, they quickly execute their plan sometimes they hack some popular influencers to promote their scams and that's exactly what happened in the last few years and lots of people get scammed by that. Now we are at the time where bitcoins will be all over the news once again because of the hype, we need not be the only ones who will take heed and be vigilant but we need to warn our friends and families as well because they are too hyped when they see it because they are mostly probably newbies and easily become victims to those scammers.

At times doing nothing is a far better solutions than trying to be smart. I'll suggest we just buy Bitcoin, hold and not do anything untill the bull market is done. Lets consider every opportunity we see as a scam and not pick interest in any of them. Ignoring everything that isn't Bitcoin is the perfect strategy to use in outsmarting the scammers.

I agree with you, but then there is nothing wrong if someone tries to maximize their profits by making good use of the bull run if they know they can do enough research and find projects that they know are going to earn them at least some profit during the bull run. Staying away from altcoins and focusing only on Bitcoin is a good option for people who know they aren't good with the market in general and they can barely understand much about altcoins.
If I have already invested in Bitcoin, but still have some funds kept as spare that I want to use as well, and I know that I understand the market very well, I can do some research and invest that money in projects that have good potential. There are a lot of altcoins that are good.

All these and many more happen during this period so it would be nice for every newbie and know what to do to avoid such stories especially for the aspect of saving or keeping your coins on exchanges

Newbies need to stay informed, as when you're joining a new industry you have to stay updated with how things are going on in the market. If you're a newbie on the forum don't be shy to ask questions and stay login as information will be disclosed regularly on the forum that can save you from becoming a victim yourself to this scams. What were experiencing right now is a tip of the iceberg as things will be more intense as the bull market continues. The scams aren't much different from what has been happening in the past so you can easily spot them. Do some research and not stay ignorant or in the dark and you won't be a victim to the scams

Scams exist in the crypto market irrespective of bull or bear market but most of the newbies enter the market in the bull season which could be the reason why the number of scams is high during the bull run. The friendly remainder is going to be effective, I don't think so because the people who really do their research before risking their money will be cautious and one who just blindly jumps in will learn the lesson in hard ways.
And there are still some newbies who are still allow all those scammers to deceive them to make money from them during bear run or bull run and, it will make newbies not to believe in anybody that is trying to help them to start making profits like them if they will be able to follow the due process that attract the profit.

I guess those who understand the bull run has taken a big profit from the bull run and those that newly enter the business was afraid to take profits when the price hit $50k because they thought that the price will not pump higher more than $50k.

And this period comes with alot of significance because a whole load of shit normally happen during this period like
  • hackers striving to get to as many victims as they can
This has to be top of the list imo, as so many new entrants are flocking into the world of cryptocurrencies with the bull runs experiencd ,and they are being preyed on by these hackers as they are easy targets....but nothing research and due diligence can't fix.

All these and many more happen during this period so it would be nice for every newbie and know what to do to avoid such stories especially for the aspect of saving or keeping your coins on exchanges.
Timing wouldn't be any better, if anything this advice isn't limited to newbie's as even veterans do fall for such scams and we should all own up and take extra care of our crypto assets to avoid falling victim to such, when all information of how to protect ourselves is readily available.

Let's all stay smart out there and avoid getting entangled in any scam event and be always be on guard that these are trial time for those that refuse to learn and heed to advice.
Agreed, another great point which should open our minds to learn new things especially in the territory of security of our crypto assets Wink

Thanks for the warning. The market is about to go bullish, many entrants coming into the space are not knowledgeable to avoid some of the tricks used by scammers. There are many phishing links flying around and fake projects are on the rise. Just yesterday, after it was announced that Apple had acquired a Canadian AI started up DarwinAI, I came across a fake token called DarwinAI being shilled on X to deceive and scam unsuspecting users. We are in a season when there's an increase in scams and we need to be extra careful.

Op nice one, obviously a lot usually happen this period if you have been in this space for years, you must have learned from experience or from what you saw happen to others in the industry, but for newbies in this space, you must take note of these measures to protect yourself and don't wait until when it will happen to you, especially when it comes to storage of cryptos on centralized exchanges platforms, anything can happen, and it will be shocked to you how you would lose your entire funds.

I always see such projects with massive pump, that leure people into investing on shit. but I stay clear from it because I was once a victim.

  • exchanges bringing up stories about being hacked
Just like FTX, mt Gox binance and kucoin hacks. Thats why it is advisable to keep your coin away from CEX exchange because not your key not your coin.

  • hackers striving to get to as many victims as they can
With fake promo on social media, by flaunting edited wallet full of bitcoin which has no single bitcoin on it.

  • scam traders flaunting their progress to lure novice into trading of their coins
I always see them giving fake testimonies in comment section of self moderated thread on social media were there fellow gang coment good about what they do, which you might never know until you fall victim then you will know that not all yes is a yes. Or not all testimonies are good testimony but a trap.

As a matter of fact, newbies should have already known these basic dangers in cryptocurrency even before they started buying Bitcoin. It would be dangerous or perhaps even too late in certain cases if it's the other way around. I think being aware of these is a prerequisite.

For example, before a newbie actually invests money in Bitcoin, he/she should have already known that exchanges aren't a place to store his/her coins. Or a newbie isn't ripe yet for investing if he/she is still easily swayed by the enticing yet fake promotions of shitcoins such as their promised growth.

And, if I may add, these fraud and scams are active all the time, not just during bullish seasons.

Well Said, I don't have full knowledge about cryptocurrency I'm still hoping to acquire the knowledge before looking out to make investment,as a newbie I don't think is a right decision for you to invest on something that you don't even have a single idea of.however most of the newbies the reason why they get scam is because they don't take one step at a time, probably when they saw people testifying on the investment they made, most of the newbie if they saw this testimony they might decide to give it a try without even knowing that it takes a lot of their time to learn how to invest, in the process of trying they might end up been scammed, as a result of being curious to get profited unlike others.

Such a good reminder. The emotions are very much high at this rate when everything seems to be increasing and that's why we need to guard ourselves from various modus that are in the market and community.

scam traders flaunting their progress to lure novice into trading of their coins
This is one of the most common scam going round at all he moment, during every bull run almost everyone is an expert in crypto or a great analyst. Many scammers create signal groups on social media and post some set of Altcoins that would pump and since it’s bull run this potential victims see the result and continue following the scammers until they develop there own scam token and advice their followers to put their funds on it and then they rug pull. This is very common and this is an old scam that I don’t think will end anytime soon as long as people find a way to get some tokens that pump they will continue to be lured to this scammers
That's true, they are all targeting newbies that have no idea about the market and making it look like they're experts. They're always there when the bull run is there and tha's why many of the newbies are being introduced to the wrong projects because they're all projecting the returns instead of the project itself and what are the fundamentals and what it is aiming in the long run. Most of them are paid to shill and that's why many are wrongly directed to the market and they all(newbies) ended up losing money because they thought that these crypto evangelists are for real but they're just mere influencers that are paid to endorse projects that they'd get commissions for each guy they refer or signs under their links.

With the tips and guidance that we do our best to provide to beginners and by highlighting the huge risks and losses they will be exposed to, this will undoubtedly benefit the largest group of them and make them wary of falling prey to these bloodsucking scammers. These scammers know exactly what they are doing and who they are targeting. Therefore, those with good experience and who follow the advice and the security guidelines that make their crypto safe are the ones who will survive during this period in which the cryptocurrency market is flourishing, and fraud is widespread.

Those who invest in new altcoin projects almost and follow the recommendations of analysts without doing their own research, or those who use unknown exchange platforms and hold their coins on any CEX or use platforms that promise a high APY, or whoever participates in airdrops with their primary wallets will certainly not be on the safe side. Therefore, any investor or trader must be careful about his holdings and the security of his devices and wallets, as one mistake he may commit may expose him to regret for the rest of his life.

The bull market is here once more and we can definitely see the effect it has on folks that HODL and others that are weary in a haste to sell off their coins due to FOMO and also others that were doubtful are still going crazy looking for huge funds to invest in Bitcoin for particularly the same reasons.

And this period comes with alot of significance because a whole load of shit normally happen during this period like

Let's all stay smart out there and avoid getting entangled in any scam event and be always be on guard that these are trial time for those that refuse to learn and heed to advice.
In the past years in crypto space, I have heard about stories of inside jobs on crypto exchanges where they lied that they got hacked but it's all a big cinema to them, they plan the whole thing themselves, to either avoid bankruptcy or they just want to steal money from their customers.

Though there is no genuine evidence that this is really happening but they way it happened just make it look so, it's good advice when beginners are warned to never leave their digital assets on any crypto exchanges, you will never know when something bad will happen to any centralized exchange.

Also, greed has a lot of contributions to every scams, if you listen to strangers in the crypto space, you probably think that they have something to offer too, if you see tokens you don't buy in your crypto wallet, it's greed that makes you want to claim it, everything is connected to greed.

Greed is what makes every scam a possibility. That’s why a lot of scammers are hunting mostly newbies because for certain reason, newbies find it hard to resist their greed. However, not all newbies can easily fall as victims to scammers, because apparently, some newbies these days are smart enough to prevent theirselves from being scammed in all means.

But with this bullish season, scamming becomes rampant again. This is the best time not just to maximize our investment portfolio, but to focus more on bitcoin and avoid risky altcoins, that is the safest way to stay off scams.  And as much as possible, control one’s greed as it could only lead to huge losses at the end of the day.

There is always a time like this in the crypto space, and those who ignore advice are usually caught in the cycle of regretting their actions after being duped out of their money. One thing I've noticed that newbies don't understand right away is that cryptocurrency isn't a place to make quick money, but rather to learn how to invest before reaping the benefits. It's not a quick money scheme. This mindset causes them to fall for cheap projects with enticing offers in order to trick their victims into believing them. If you're a newbie with this kind of mindset, you have to be more careful because they know how to get you to fall for their traps.

Op really the time has come again for them to do their evil things again and their targeted audience are from the social media platforms and the father social for their target audience are telegram and Facebook. I add a very serious quarrel with some them few days back and because that they refused to tag me again when posting on Facebook. One of them was selling a Toyota Corolla and asked me to pay with bitcoin and I told him that he is a scammer and he blocked me in sharp (immediately).

Op this is a very good warning for all of us. This the time for the scammers to make money from the novice. Don't be novice and always know the real dealers from the fake ones.

I believe this is the major reason why people don't invest in bitcoin. Even with all the fear and scam people can still invest and remain safe from scammers, hearing stories like this with new altcoin projects, FOMO etc I think victims should be blamed, why thinking of new projects always and surprising this is the time most investors engage in newly project, I see alot of newly projects pumping in luring investors to buy all in the name of the bull market.

Beginners are doomed to get into similar “stories” and this can be considered a “baptism of fire” or “initiation” into the world of cryptocurrencies. Smiley This is an invaluable experience that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Beginners, due to the specific nature of their inexperience, can't know enough to know the location of all the “shit pits” in this cryptoindustry.
Exactly, every investor will have different experience to share when talking about their bitcoin journey, such experience is just a wake up call to be strong and smart when dealing with cryptocurrencies. The word initiation is just too perfect and it seems there's no going back but instead learning from previous mistakes makes an investor intelligent.

Op you have spoken well. The case of scammers and hackers trying to break through the process, is growing everyday, and they are trying as much as possible to learn and equip themselves with enough information for them to become successful with their hacks and scams. The only way we are keeping ourselves immune from this hackers is when we also study more and keep ourselves updated. learn to keep your coins in a non custodial wallet rather than using an exchange because exchanges are the primary targets of hackers.

It is impossible for everyone to remain smart when there is hype in the cryptomarket and greed overshadows reason. What is important here is not so much knowledge and awareness about the types of dangers associated with cryptocurrencies, but rather the ability to manage your emotions. Because emotions (most often greed) are the bait on the hook of scammers.

Because of the anticipated bull run in the crypto market, this is actually not the time for someone to let their guard down. Making them completely forget that this is the time of day when scammers work the hardest, presenting appealing offers and questionable projects in an attempt to scam victims of their hard-earned money.

Rather than expecting all projects to succeed during the boom, which they won't, it will be better for us to be wise and vigilant when choosing the kind of project we want to invest in. Some will even turn out to be frauds. Investing in bitcoin is a safer option than choosing an altcoin, its owners of which you are unsure of or whose purpose in the crypto market they intend to cover up as being legit.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin
I'm not even understanding the state of this bullrun and altcoins influence. This time last last year, we have Defi everywhere booming and making mad trends and green candles everywhere that even the ICO projects that survived to the bullrun has to rebrand to Defi and all pumped like crazy but this time, there hasn't been a unique altcoins except for these AI stuff that pop out from different corners of telegram, discord and X and so far, they don't have anything special just noises.

New trend is the reason why we have many scams but I'm not seeing any and I think many people are familiar with what we have already like the wallet scams and private keys extortion, wallet poisoning, and buying into fake projects. If we have new trends, it will be easier to study how they are so as to expose the potential scams that people might get into but still I advice everyone to remain safe. Not just scammers but from hackers as well.

The friendly remainder is going to be effective, I don't think so because the people who really do their research before risking their money will be cautious and one who just blindly jumps in will learn the lesson in hard ways.
Most of the people who invest in this bull market have limited knowledge of how the crypto space works. They were just attracted by the increase in the price of most cryptocurrencies. I was in a betting shop and two friends were discussing the bull run and how they bought some altcoins which turned out to be a scam. A careful examination of their discussion points to the fact that they don't know anything about the market. Maybe they saw an advert that promises a mouthwatering profit and they wanted to get rich quickly.

Before investing in any coin there is a great need to invest in learning to avoid being a victim of scams. Investors shouldn't be too lazy to put in a few hours of research to ascertain the genuineness of a project. There is also a need to learn how to keep wallets safe to avoid phasing and hacks. The beauty of the crypto industry is that everything you need to learn can be accessed by just a quick search on the internet.

Not everything when we search on internet is legitimate information, for example if we type best wallet then it will give lot of articles that filled with craps and it may show bitcointalk results too but not always on the top of results so whoever search something on internet may get mislead too.

As you said, it's the investors priority to find the good projects and in my opinion every newbie should start with Bitcoin and hang around a bit to understand how market works before taking risks with shitcoins.
Learning will keep you a step ahead of these scammers, funny thing is they are also learning new ways to scam people, that's why before you do anything in crypto space you need to ask questions about it first, many newbies are able to safe themselves doing this, and those who believe that they knows best end up becoming a victim.

Even with everything I knew I can't boldly say that I am always going to be safe online, when I come across something new I need to ask first because like I've said, scammers are now looking for ways to become more smarter and rob innocent people, you also need to be get better with your security online so the best way is to always learn something new.

It's been year's since I have know about crypto and I can't still boldly say that I am free from these scammers, no one should believe that they are free because even those that have been here since 2010 are still getting scammed.

Thanks for the reminder. I've been in the crypto space for many years already, and I'm confident enough to say that I will not fall into these scam projects, or me being hacked whatsoever. What I worry about is those newbies who don't know anything about cryptocurrency.

Newbies who are just starting, and the first thing that they will encounter is something that will scam them. Newbies will get lured by these scammers to invest in their project or whatever it is in exchange for some huge monthly interest. I worry about those newbies out there who are prone to scams and hacks especially now that we are near the bull run phase, and with this, newbies tend to decide based on what they feel not on what they know. They feel that they don't want to be the last on the ride thus, they will immediately invest their money into a project that they don't even know only to end up as a scam project. I also started as a newbie, and luckily I didn't fall into these scam attempts even though I've received many emails from them. What I did was I watched videos online on how scammers are scamming people so that I would know what to do if the time comes that they will come to me, convince me, and try to scam me.

Overall, this kind of advice will help maybe at least 1 or 2 or even more newbies out there, but there's no harm in constantly reminding these newbies to be vigilant. As for newbies out there, at least equip yourself with knowledge first before investing.

scam traders flaunting their progress to lure novice into trading of their coins
Ahhh the pump groups. Each time we have a bull season and a larger number of newcomers are entering the cryptocurrency world there are an increased number of scammers who start fake operations telling these newcomers about the "profit" they are making by buying shitcoins as if they see the future.

Little do the newbies know, these scammers are entering that shitcoin then tell the newbie to buy that shitcoin so that the scammers can sell their bags at a profit they take out of the newbies' pockets.

Its always normal for numerous altcoins projects to spring up few months to halving as this is a period almost every project is hoping to experience a pump in their prices because of the attention that cryptocurrencies attract these periods, all thanks to bitcoin for creating such season of positive energy. The heartbreaking thing is that most of them do not get listed at the end of the various campaigns. More dangerous that people are doing all the risky tasks they present like connecting their wallets and main social media handles even unintentionally. These guys are really advancing by the day and I see a lot of their tricks that can catch unsuspecting individuals, I try my best to raise alarm in groups where I belong, but people are greedy already and it will lead most of them to regrets later.

It really wounds me that at this period, when you try relating security threats to unsuspecting individuals, they see it as though you are against their progress, that's the basis of these scammers progress, they have a way of convincing  greedy and unsuspecting people to trust them easily in expectation of their empty promises which has a high possibility of turning around to the loss of such individuals. Most people have sworn to learn from experience rather than information and what baffles me is when I see people who have been scammed before still engaging in such projects saying that the present project looks more real. Its surprising how ready people are to patronize scam projects even more than legitimate ones.

The bull market is here once more and we can definitely see the effect it has on folks that HODL and others that are weary in a haste to sell off their coins due to FOMO and also others that were doubtful are still going crazy looking for huge funds to invest in Bitcoin for particularly the same reasons.

And this period comes with alot of significance because a whole load of shit normally happen during this period like
    • crazy scam altcoins projects
    • exchanges bringing up stories about being hacked
    • hackers striving to get to as many victims as they can
    • scam traders flaunting their progress to lure novice into trading of their coins

All these and many more happen during this period so it would be nice for every newbie and know what to do to avoid such stories especially for the aspect of saving or keeping your coins on exchanges.

Let's all stay smart out there and avoid getting entangled in any scam event and be always be on guard that these are trial time for those that refuse to learn and heed to advice.

I mean the market price is just really volatile at this time of the market so a single little news could easily affect the market price of Bitcoin at any moment, so there is a lot of manipulation of the market at any moment, bringing up this kind of news right now, especially on a hype market is going to make them some money, if they wanted to buy more Bitcoin they could release hacking news that might scare a lot of traders making them sell of, But it's true that at this moment hackers are getting a lot more aggressive since there are a lot of traders out there that are vulnerable to hacking just because there are kinda new to this trading thing. There are for sure a lot of Cryptocurrency projects that is being developed with and scammers are finding new ways as well how they are going to trick newbies in the space.

As you get more knowledgeable you can easily avoid these kinds of scams and hacks, so what you just need to do is make sure to do a lot of research in order to protect yourself from it. Because hackers cannot hack you if you know something about how they do it you know the right thing to do in order to avoid it. Most likely it is still going to increase because of the hype in the market, there's nothing we can do about that because for sure they are earning a huge amount on hacking people so they are not going to stop unless they are not earning anymore.

If they really wanted to invest then they should have chosen to invest in altcoins that are already in top list instead of investing on new altcoins but if they want to be sure that they won't lose all their money then they should invest in bitcoin. Although the value they have may decrease when btc price decrease but the amount of btc they have would still be the same like i have 1 btc and the price decrease to 50k then I stills have 1 btc but when it increased to 60k then I have 60k. Even though it is on the top crypto people should still be careful as their might be a clone or fake crypto with same name. One more thing, invest what they can afford to lose.

Even some people who believe themselves to be crypto professional may start giving the confusing advice for newbie investors to also invest in altcoins as a way to ensure that they really benefit during this season. Some of their reasons may be very convincing and enough to make you an investor want to consider investing in new projects, projects either endorsed by them or not. Investing in new altcoins now apart from the already good altcoins with a reputation and bitcoins the ultimate is a risky move.[/list]

This reminds me of the TRON airdrop  scam that was all of the internet few days ago. Friends were sending their referral link  for me to sign up and get the airdrop. They kept sending me screenshots of their so called wallets to convince to quickly sign up, follow the process and get my own rewards. This also turned out to be scam.  It is not only this case there are other projects that have rug pulled and investor's funds gone down the drain.

No matter how much you sound the alarm for people to stay away from these types of shitscoins and projects they won't listen because they want to cash out quickly.

I guess where there are newbies, scammers also take advantage. But I guess within this bullish market, scammers are not only eyeing for newbies but certainly for all investors out there most especially for those who are motivated with their greed. Learn to invest only on the amount you can afford to lose, as much as sell only when you think there is a deep reason to sell. That way, scammers won’t find any holes that will lead them to scam us, and most importantly, while this is the season for profits, protect your wallet 24/7 so that scammers won’t find means to steal our coins from its storage.

This is an excellent lesson for all of us, not just newbies; we should be very cautious at this time because everyone, including scammers, is attempting to earn money with cryptocurrency.
These scam methods mentioned above should be rigorously avoided because all centralized exchanges and anything involving centralizations are untrustworthy.

    What do you believe in?
It is always sung like a song on this forum about "not your key, not your coin." Anyone who fails to adhere to such warnings will bear the cost of their ignorance. Holding Bitcoin for a long time requires storing it on a self-custodial wallet, which gives the holder full control over their asset, rather than storing it on a centralized exchange.

Any investor who is also planning on investing in altcoins should only invest what they can afford to lose. It's certain that the Bitcoin price will surge high due to the bull season, but altcoins only use the opportunity of the Bitcoin bull market to pump, which is why most altcoins are not also profitable. Like the OP already said, scammers use different methods to scam investors out of their funds. They can develop new altcoins as a means to scam investors, and that's why it's important to be careful about the kind of new altcoins to invest in.

In such times where it is easy for the fraudsters to raise more money and achieve profits, so they will pay well to promote because the advertisement and promises with quick profits attract more customers more than building something valuable.
Do not believe the fraudsters or any new project, invested in Bitcoin and projects that have a significant market capacity, do not force new bridges or those projects that have nothing but promises that you will make quick profits.
And this exactly what most of these owner of these new altcoin project do. Lately there was this scam project that has been flooding the internet in my locality and the name of this airdrop is IRON and they claim to link with matic polygon network and also claimed that people can actually get from from this coins as they claim people having the coins can now swap it through a link in trust wallet browser to USDT and the crazy part is where the scam locates which is the network fee required for you to swap the coins which is at exactly 12$ worth of matic and when you pay this fee thinking to have your coins swapped to USDT the whole process start all over and the fee gone.

The high rate of scam through all this altcoins is something alarming one just have to stay informed and vigilant not fall for all these altcoins and their antics. The other day a friend to me that he was referred to by another to join in promoting the coins on X(formerly twitter)  and Telegram and other social media platforms and after that he should refer the altcoins to 5 different people and he will be rewarded with an amount of the coins so that he can exchange to fiat he did accordingly but to his suprise all about this altcoin was rubbish. They just keep deceiving people that the coins is the fastest growing coin and it will hit so so figure but all are lies. Anyone interested in investing in crypto just have to be very careful of the antics of all these altcoins. Bitcoin is the most reliable, it's evidence is crystal clear can't be compared to all these altcoins they just want to disguise and take advantage of Bitcoin growth to promote their shit coins or scam individuals.
