I think the world needs an objective assessment of current events. But for many, manipulating news is a tool for making money. Without resistance, they will not surrender.

Decentralization and it's application is limited to some sectors and the mass media is one of them. News media are very sensitive and decentralizing it spells danger for the sector as it could be grossly abused.  News sources always need to be quoted or mentioned, imagine several anonymous authors, without trace, especially when the news is of negative impact or unsubstantiated.

we're Radio, online!
Elon Musk keeps talking about the subject and will attempt his own project, PRAVDA.

I have been working on a similar blockchain-based concept (still in early stages) since late last year. The main challenges for a project like this is to set up a trusted decentralized reputation/voting system or data aggregation point reputation system that pulls reputation/truth score data from a range of sources, then put that on an immutable blockchain and incentivize people to use it and share it. The main thing I see a project like this needs is protection from being easily corrupted, gamed or becoming centralized in the future. The second thing would be building awareness.

What do you guys think about the need for Decentralized News Media? How would you think it could actually work?
Everyone needs a truthful news from these news media and your vision is good about this problem, this news media is full of fake news and negative influences not only in cryptocurrency but in general. Your idea about decentralization of news media is a good idea but it will not happen in this present situation where many news media had some issues that they are facing, also the anonimity of decentralized network is much more risky because people will doubt if the news is true or fake because of the anonymous author of the news that are stored in the blockchain, it can create more FUDs in the web and also in our community.

Theoretically the concept is good but practically it is not possible to do this. At first decentralization of the news media is quite impossible in reality. Then decentralization of the news media can have negative impact also. The news media then can be autocratic and they will have the power to manipulate others. So I think total decentralization of the news media will not be good for us.

I think we need decentralize media to get rid of scamming which has now become one of the major problem. In crpyto anyone can become investor and thus take the advantage of it. So to prevent this we need it I guess.

An utopian concept or a pipedream! Media has such negative stigma attached to it, that one even wonders at the need for decentralization.
