How is buyer/seller trust established?  Is there seller ratings or something?
Screenshots of the actual interface would have been nice on the website.

There isn't a seller rating yet, but it is currently just the first release. Next release is Sunday, November 9. Features include:

  • Image Preview: See if you have the right URLs for your images before listing your item!
  • A standalone version (no more messy install!)
  • Seller ID in item listings is now a link to see all items from that seller
  • Tightened security
  • Passphrase fields now integrate with password managers such as 1Password and LastPass
  • Improved Chinese localization
  • New localizations: German, Spanish, Lithuanian
  • More built-in help
  • Various bug fixes

As you can see, they are making some great progress!

Also, here is another planned feature:

A web version is in the works. It won't be ready for this upcoming release, I don't think. But it's good to have a headline feature for each release, so maybe the following one Smiley

sounded good but after taking a look at it i think its too early for the mass.

i dont have nxt or a nxt wallet so i cant use it. im not willing to download a nxt client, then download the market plugin and then copy some files from one place to the other just to get it to work.

me as a simple customer just wants an online place where i can sign in and buy stuff in 1 minute. i dont want to loose hours just figuring out how to get into this market.

this is not meant as fud, but i think its just too early for normal people to use this.

You all are both right. It is still very early, but at least they actually have a working release! There is an online version in the works, so you'll be able to just sign in with your NXT password and browse/use the FreeMarket. It is still early, but shows tremendous promise and I think it is just awesome  Smiley

Definitely worth it to keep an eye on this.

NXT Freemarket! You can sell anything on there for 0 fees for the rest of 2014. It's awesome. Of course, being a new product, it's not as mature as it will be, but it's under active development, with a new version due Nov. 9. A few transactions have already taken place. Not sure why things like OpenBazaar have been getting so much press, when this is actually released!
