I have a few american gold bullion coins with me (the American Gold Buffalo, and the American Gold Eagle, mostly 1/10 oz). So far I have not collected the rarer bullion coins.

i love collectibles like this, yes. as long as i am willing to hold onto them for a while (i am), i can always flip them for a good premium over weight on ebay.

I absolutely love the Saint Gaudens Double Eagle.

No, only gold and silver at the best price I can get unless it's melted into something cool.. then I might spend a bit extra.  I have a couple silver dummy bullets Cheesy.

Starting this to see if anyone believes in buying rare and collectable gold versus bullion? U.S. coins preferably.

I think it depends on what they want to use it for. And if they want the gold to be IRA approved. Of course, both of them are IRA approved, but coins usually are less than bullions. And only certain types of rare coins are IRA approved, but they can go into other things basically like it.
